"I suppose that's true." If they found something really cool then it'd be worth probably being grounded...and extra chores...right? As they made their way down the stairs, Sylas tried to be careful but he was pretty excited so perhaps he was going a little faster than he should have. Unfortunately he didn't hear Cyrus' warning in time and fell through right where his brother had. The unsuspecting young boy put an arm out to break his fall. "OW." He shouted louder than he intended. Pushing himself to a sitting position, he held his right hand tentatively with his left before moving it around with a wince. His eyes began to well up with tears but he blinked them away quickly so his brother wouldn't see. "Are you okay Cy? Where are we?"

"Are you okay?" Cyrus turned towards his twin with concern when he heard the shout. His gaze narrowed with worry before he shook his head. "I'm fine." The youngling twisted around as he studied their new surroundings. It was a very old place that was for sure and the chamber seemed a bit larger than most rooms he had ever seen before. What could have happened in here? The youngling's gaze lit up with interest before he started to walk around, his fingers lightly touching the musty stone until he felt one shift beneath his fingers. Oh? Cyrus tilted his head with surprise before pushing harder and finding that the stone shifted like a door. A passage?! The youngling's mouth opened in shock before he closed it again and made his way back towards Sylas.
"Did you hurt anything? Can you stand?" He asked as he carefully studied his brother. "We can go back towards the house and get you checked out." Thankfully their babysitter was a healer even if he wasn't the best supervisor...the thought made his lips twitch almost into a smile though his worry kept his expression almost neutral. "We can come back another time...but I think I found another passage which may go outside." He had felt a bit of a draft in the room so that would explain it. Cyrus did enjoy puzzles and finding something like that already had his mind spinning in circles about all the possibilities. But Sylas first! Even if there was a cool tunnel it could be checked out later, especially if his brother was hurt!

Sylas tested his wrist a little more it definitely hurt and made him not want to move it but he didn't think anything was seriously wrong. At least he hoped not. Falling and getting hurt could easily be explained, they were young boys after all! But if it was something serious his parents would surely want to know what exactly they had been doing that caused him to hurt himself so badly. "I think it's okay...just really sore I hope. But yeah, we should probably go back up if we can. We'll come back better prepared next time?" He wanted to keep exploring but maybe things down here were worse than he thought, they should make sure they had what they would need to be safe. Sy stood and kept his wrist close to his body. It wouldn't be fun trying to get back up the ledge they had fallen down but he knew Cyrus would help him if he could!

"Sure." Cyrus nodded his head, forcing a smile as to not let his brother see his worry. What if Sylas got really hurt because of him? Guilt gnawed at the younglings' stomach and he made certain to glance about before noticing some old wooden chest in the corner. What if....his gaze lit up as he went towards it and started to tug. It seemed sturdy enough! There wasn't any holes in it and he even pulled himself on top of it to make certain it could hold his weight. There was an old rusty lock holding the lid closed but they could try to figure that out later. "I'm going to push this so that you can climb up easier, Sylas." Cyrus finally explained as he started moving and slowly inched the box closer and closer towards the ledge. Eventually it lined up and the youngling tested it once more before climbing back up into the passage they had emerged from. That was surely a lot easier, right? At least that was his hope.
He turned around and held out a helpful hand towards his brother. "Just take your time and I'll help you, okay?" They could always ask Votrene to wrap the wrist and such. Maybe they were simply playing too hard and Sylas stumbled into something. It could be easily explained...he hoped. Either way his was going to do his best to get them both back in one piece! And at least they had found something new and surely the passageway would prove very beneficial for both of them in the future.

"Thanks." He knew his brother would have his back. He spared a moment to look at what Cyrus had pushed over for them to climb on top of. "I wonder what is inside here..." He thought aloud. "hmm." Was an audible shrug before he started to carefully climb on top of the chest and up onto the ledge again. "Okay lets go back up but be careful on the way back up in case we got lucky with where we stepped the last time okay? But we're definitely coming back down here." He conspired with a laugh as the two boys made their way back up. He would get Votrene to look at his wrist and hopefully come up with an excuse on the way back up! [Sylas 10]
