The key word in all of that had been 'try', but Ari meant what he said. Even if it killed him to be kinder to people who only spat venom at him he wasn't about to cause more stress for his family. He would help make things better bit by bit and all of his frustrations would just go into his cooking.
And the occasional headlock he put Zasha in, but that was another day.

It was easier commiserating about the problems facing him when so many in his bloodline fought similar battles. "We should do this more often; it's really relaxing." It felt strange to air out his grievances like this, but also relieving? Almost like a weight had been lifted from him and for that Ari was grateful.
