“I’ve always been ready, Mourite.” Dinara swallowed and looked at Axinite for a moment, and then towards Arnica, giving a small, happy smile. “See you when I see you!” She hoped that she would remember him, but…knew that there was a chance of not…but that was okay.
He would remind her of whatever she forgot.
“That means that um. I’m ready too, sir.” She said softly, looking back towards Axinite and smiling.

“You can make an appointment with me to discuss anything. I don’t bite,” Axinite promised. “You make a lot of requests for someone who isn’t even a part of the Negaverse yet, but. I know this must be scary for you. So I’m just asking you both to trust me. I’m going to start with you,” he said to Dinara, because he thought it would be impractical to risk hurting Mourite by promoting him first. If he wasn’t in top condition while siphoning, something could happen to her. So, this was the safest option. Aside from him just doing it himself, but. She’d asked. He could oblige. “Mourite, take her starseed.” He waited, and then when he was sure that Mourite had done so, he put his hand on the Lieutenant’s shoulder and began to push energy into him. Through him. “This will just be a moment. Just hold on. Mourite, you’re next, so try to take it easy. Let me know if anything feels off.”

He may not bite, but that didn’t mean Axinite wasn’t intimidating regardless. Mourite’s hand slipped into Dinara’s chest again, finding its home around her brilliant bit of stardust. He held it gently, even still in her chest, using his other arm to hold her against him. Axinite placed a hand on his shoulder, and Chaos began to flow through him.
It was the weirdest sort of feeling. It burned down his arm, trying to find purchase on his own soul but being sent elsewhere. Mourite did his best to direct it down his arm, which was a mix of trying to keep it from surging like a raging river, and flow more than a trickle. He understood now why it was the higher ups that did this, and not lieutenants or captains. His fingers tingled, pulsing with the Chaos the General Sovereign was pushing through him, and surged into Dinara with more force.
Now for it to take hold of Dinara, and hope to the stars it didn’t consume her entirely….

Dinara thought that she was prepared for this. She thought that this would be the easy part and she would come through unscathed, but…it hurt. It hurt terribly and she bit down hard on her lip to keep from crying out as the Chaos poured into her starseed. Her clothes began to change as Mourite and Axinite worked to bring her home, and she felt her memories slipping away as they did too. Her family…her life as Charlotte was growing dimmer, further away until it seemed like part of a dream, something just out of reach.
She knew that she had a life, but it wasn’t hers any longer.
Except…her eyes slid to the Dark Mirror Senshi. Arnica. Her brother…he was here.
The new Negaverse Captain gave a small, tired smile, her lip bleeding slightly from where her teeth had cut into it. Carefully, she wiped the blood away with the black sleeve of her new uniform, and after a long moment trying to re-orientate herself, she looked to Mourite, and then to Axinite and smiled, her face glowing with happiness. “Thank you. I’m home.”

Arnica didn’t realize that he’d been holding his breath until he started getting dizzy. It was nerve wracking, just waiting to find out what was going to become of his sister. She didn’t seem uncomfortable, and though every nerve in his body was tingling with the desire to just pluck her away from these guys and run.
But, this was what she wanted.
He crossed his arms tighter over his chest, not quite defensive but he was uncomfortable. He didn’t know what to expect from any of this, and he was afraid to lose his little sister. He didn’t want everything they had to just disappear. He didn’t want her to be gone.
Her eyes were wet, she was crying. She was bleeding.
And then, it was done. And she seemed happy.
To be with them.

Axinte let the power fade, and gently removed his hand from Mourite’s shoulder. He smiled gently at their new Captain. But, she wouldn’t be the newest. “Welcome,” he greeted, “And congratulations. We’re happy to have you.” From subspace, he summoned a small parcel and a bottle of blue Gatorade; within the little box, an orange, a few cookies, and some beef jerky. Just in case. He passed them to her. “Here, I know that can be a little draining. Have a snack, let me know if you need to sit down. Mourite,” he looked at him, still proudly. “If you’re ready, let’s get you taken care of, too.” He was ready for this–and, when Mourite was, he would slide his hand into the chest and do the same for him as he had done for Dinara.

She looked gorgeous in black. It made her eyes pop, and the subtle gradient of colors that said 'I was once of Cosmos' was gentle but eye catching. In fact, Mourite couldn't take his eyes off of her for several minutes as the Captain - the Captain - steadied herself in front of him. Her lip was bleeding, Mourite reaching out to wipe a little bit away with his thumb. No youma, no knight, just a sleek looking Captain who looked ready for a nap.
Axinite gave her a care package - you know, the one who brought Mourite into the fold never did that, he'd have to remember that for new recruits - and turned to the lieutenant on the verge of captain. Mourite nodded, taking a moment to make sure that Dinara, or whatever her name would be now, was settled.
Besides, he needed a moment to calm his own nerves.
Arnica looked like he did not want to be there at all. Poor guy; probably didn't like the idea of his sister forgetting him, or even joining the Negaverse at all. Mourite gave him a reassuring smile. Okay, yes, he was stalling. But Dinara would hate him if he simply ran off. He could use the promotion too...
"Alright, let's begin Axinite," he said, turning to the General Sovereign and bracing himself. He felt the hand slip into his chest, wincing a little, and then the Chaos seized his soul.
He'd forgotten how his initial corruption had hurt, how it had burned through his veins, and sank teeth into his very being. Chaos burned through his limbs, this time free to tear and pull and change him, filling him to the brim and over with more power. Unlike Dinara, he lost no memories. Yet something was changed in the young man, and a pair of wolverine sharp claws shot from his knuckles as he clenched his fist in pain.
He panted as the promotion finished and looked down at the claws on his fist. He didn't look much different - his uniform didn't change much - but he certainly felt different.
"Thank you, General Sovereign. For Dinara, for myself, thank you," he said, retracting the claws in a poof of... smoke? Interesting.

Oh. Oh Mourite looked good with more power.
Danalite gazed at him, obviously appreciating what she saw, and took a moment to reach out and take his hand, squeezing it tightly. “...Hey handsome. We can…go on actual dates now, if you want to. I’m sure that my brother won’t mind too much.”
Her eyes slid to Arnica, and the Captain smiled. Honestly, she looked happier than she had in months. And there was a sense of freedom that came with the knowledge that she could handle things on her own now. She didn’t need to worry any longer. She wasn’t powerless and she wasn’t useless.
“If you’d like to come over for dinner, I’m sure that Arnica would invite you, won’t you? Please big brother?”
Gently she let go of Mourite’s hand and ran to hug Arnica, squeezing him and kissing his cheek. “...I remember you. Which. Is what we wanted. And I love you. Just in case you were worried.”

Arnica looked distressed–glad that she was happy! But not quite sure what he wanted to make of her already inviting her boyfriend over for dinner. He’d only just met him! But when she looked so happy it was difficult to deny her. And after she’d been through so much already…
He breathed a little sigh of relief. She remembered–that was good enough for him.
Even if all her brazen flirting made him feel like he should be scandalized. He was her older brother, couldn’t she spare him just a little?
…And yet, he just nodded when she asked; he didn’t want to ruin this for her. He knew this was important to her. Knew Mourite was important to her.
“Yeah, yeah. We’ll make it work. I’m just glad you’re okay.

“You owe me no thanks,” Axinite promised. He was a little paler than before, perhaps just because the effort from the both of them in such quick succession was taxing on him, but he smiled. Whatever cost it was to him, it was worth it. “I’m glad I could help. Here, for you too.” He passed another care package to Mourite, and then summoned a drink for himself. He uncapped it and took a hearty swig, mindful of his own well-being. “Do you two want to head home for the evening? I suspect some rest will be good for you. I don’t want you out trying to work tonight, not after this. It’s taxing, but. I’m glad to have you. The both of you.”
