Jet’s hand moved from around Ganymede’s neck so he could pinch her jaw between his fingers, forcing her to open her mouth. He could force her teeth to break it, cover her nose and mouth until she had no choice but to swallow. Since it didn’t matter to her, then she could suffer like Sessrumnir made Aquamarine suffer.
Lucky for her, he wasn’t the type to waste valuable resources, especially not as a means of torture. They could use that starseed for other things, like infecting another world or wonder.
Maybe they would collect enough energy to attack Sessrumnir at some point. Once they obtained more information about the experiment with Kerberos.
He held her jaw bruisingly hard for a few moments longer, but eventually released it. Released her from being pinned against the bars.
“You’re right about one thing, at least. Even if you are reborn, at least we won’t have to deal with you. It would probably be smart of us to focus our attention on the younger Senshi, then. We wouldn’t want them to grow up enough to develop their powers. Nipping problems in the bud and all that. Thanks for the idea. And recently, there have been a large number of younger Senshi and knights I’ve noticed.”

Ganymede prepared herself to eat the starseed. She made no move to fight it, simply resigned herself to the pain and sickness to come. There was no point in struggling. The faster she got it over with, the sooner the effects would wear off.
That Jet released her without following through came as a relief, whether or not it showed on her face.
She laughed, holding onto the bars to support her weight. Slowly, she slid down and sat, tipping her head to smile up at Jet.
“You try so hard to be threatening, to be worthy of that rank,” she said, “but you’re still the same pathetic brat you were the first time we met. I hope you’re pleased with yourself, at least. I’d hate to think you went through all this trouble for nothing.”
His threats, his insinuations — they meant nothing to her here. Had she been on Earth, free to care about anything other than her own death, she might have taken him more seriously, might have responded with more protectiveness, and a healthy dose of fear. In the depths of the Dark Kingdom, she could feel nothing but a numb certainty.
Perhaps it was the Chaos, leeching what it could from her.
“All hail General King Jet,” she said without feeling, resting there by the bars of her cell. “How long until he falls?”

“It doesn’t matter what you think, if I’m worthy of my rank or not,” Jet said, looking at Ganymede with a strange sense of pity. He didn’t have sympathy for her, but it was the same as seeing a mouse caught by a cat. He would do nothing to stop her fate, but he did hope they broke her transcendence soon. It would be better for everyone if she was gone for good.
Her mocking him meant nothing. Maybe a desperate attempt to rile him up.
But he wasn’t planning on falling, and that was where she was wrong. She was also wrong in thinking that he had any intention of being promoted. He didn’t have to have lofty goals to do what he thought was best for the Negaverse. To do what was best for Earth.
“Goodbye, Ganymede. I hope we never meet again,” he said after a few moments of watching her as she sat slumped against the bars, and then teleported.
