I'm actually pretty capable just got a vaguely unimpressed face out of her; not so much an oh, really? kind of expression, but very much an if you're that capable, explain the injuries kind of expression. Chrysocolla didn't press him any further, though. She didn't want to know details or examples or names.
That might not have been exactly right. She did want to know, because she worried about Kerberos, but not enough to justify anything else she'd say or learn. Finding out secondhand what fights he was picking - or not picking - via whatever some mildly-useful idiots decided to put in the Database had to be enough. (Jade green, shot through with wine red, in both eyes, and a spark of acid-lime in the corner of one iris. One of these days she was going to sit down in front of a mirror, pick up a notebook, and see how many specific emotions she could muster up to track what colors they meant. Stupid useless mood ring magic that didn't even come with an instruction manual. It was probably reincarnation stuff, wasn't it? That was something the Negaverse had never cared that much about, or at least she'd never known it to care.)
"Come on," Chrysocolla said, and pouted, "when have I ever been reckless?" Aside from the time she'd had a youma in her head and gotten what had felt like half her face shattered by getting into a really stupid fight, but aside from that, she didn't think she was particularly reckless. She didn't pick fights she couldn't win.
Not these days, anyway. As a teenager it'd been kind of a different story!

The assertion that she wasn't reckless had Kerberos tilting his head to the side in mild bepuzzled amusement. Perhaps not anymore. Perhaps she'd grown in her time away from Destiny City. Perhaps he had to give grace to the fact that she wasn't a teenager anymore, any more than he was.
"Well, if you're so very sensible, I hope you keep it that way," he said, more than mildly amused. His attention was drawn by her eyes, though, shifting colors strangely--he'd never noticed it before, suspected it was new. Some strange magic, like whatever had flowers growing at his feet? Perhaps; it was an interesting prospect. But he wasn't sure how to ask about it. and she hadn't asked about the flowers, so maybe it was fair.
"It was good to see you again, Chrys," Kerberos said. "And if you ever need anything--there's a bench, in North End Park. I'm there most nights. You can come and find me. Talk, unload, whatever."

Chrysocolla nodded assertively. "Of course." She was going to keep it that way! She'd gotten a lot better about... a lot of things. Even if it still felt weird when people treated her like an adult and not like a teenager, and it felt like she was faking everything, but... it was what it was.
"I probably can't come by too often? I'm not in that area a lot," and if anyone else from the Negaverse came by she didn't want it to look like a regular thing, no matter if it was or she wanted it to be, "but I'll go there when I can, I promise."

"That's plenty for me," Kerberos said. He never expected anyone to visit too often. More than once was a blessing. But if Chrysocolla at least came by enough to let him know she was alive, that would be enough.
He sighed.
"See you around," he said, with a little wave. And he genuinely hoped he would. And that the next time they saw each other, it wasn't on opposite sides of some stupid fight.

"I'll be there!"
She really did mean it.
