Though it was strange to have such a verbally one-sided conversation, Honi found she was quite enjoying the exchange. She was used to the chaos of a big family and people passing by with idle chatter, but here she could read the words and see his face and it took a little extra focus on her part to pay attention to the conversation. She could notice all of it; like the sudden slump in Eli's expression. Her brow knit slightly while she ready the words and gave Eli an apologetic smile. "I like to think I could put it to better use than alcohol like the drunks would do.. but I know you're right. I'll keep it in mind."
The offer had her lips pursing with indecision though. "You just said you couldn't even tip for walking for a few minutes. Don't go thinking I'm gonna let you spend your money on me like that." Her frown turned into a playful smirk. "After all, my best pieces aren't exactly cheap~ Maaaybe I'll let you buy something small though~"
She turned another corner and raised her hand to point to a low building with tables out front and covered windows. "There we are. If your friend likes gambling and is in the area, he'll likely be there at some point tonight."

Ah, he had said that, hadn’t he? He had no way of telling her that once this job was done coin wouldn’t be a problem so instead Eliazer simply smiled as if he’d been caught and shrugged his shoulders. When she smirked he held up his index finger and thumb, making a ‘small’ sign before nodding. Something little, then, to support a local artist.
Looking at the building, Eliazer was already getting an idea on what areas he would need to scope out and how he would have to go about things. He didn’t want them to see too much of him in the daylight so he’d this was as far as he wanted to go which meant he’d need to distract Honi. Would she think it off that he stopped here?
Thanks. At least I know the way now so when I come back this evening I’ll be able to catch him. Thinking on it, he took a leap. If you aren’t doing anything tomorrow maybe you wouldn’t mind showing me around some more?

Honi couldn't help her nose wrinkling slightly when she looked at Eli's destination. She didn't understand the draw of the drinking and gambling world. Though admittedly curious, she had also been told more than enough stories where someone spending their time at such activities ended up with a bad day. Or a bad year, in the case of that smithy! She wanted none of that!
If Eli's friend liked parlors.. did that mean Eli also did? She looked over his writing and felt a little relief. At least he wasn't planning to just go in there and spend his whole time there! She wanted to ask more, but maybe that was pushing the boundaries a little. Clasping her hands together, she gave an enthusiastic nod. "As long as you promise to not be hungover from spending time with your friend tonight," she said playfully. "We can meet up at the stall again if you like and go from there."

Instead of writing anything, Eliazer raised his pinky finger and held it out. It was a simple gesture, but hopefully one that carried over the ocean.
No one would ever have to worry about him touching liquor. For the entirety of his life, however short or long it may be, Eliazer Aberswith would be stone cold sober.
On impulse he started to sign and caught himself. Instead, he wrote out, See you tomorrow. Bright and early.

The pinky finger caused Honi to pause a moment before she grinned and held up her own in response. "Me, too!" Not that she really had anything to promise, but it was surely the polite thing to do in return. She had no intention of going anywhere drunk. She might sneak into the tavern from time to time for stories and games, but the alcohol always smelled too weird to bother with yet.
Her eyes slid over the words and she nodded firmly. "Bright and early." She gave the parlor a wary glance, but then smiled and turned to head home. Maybe she would bring some extra money along in case he ended up losing all of his there tonight. She hoped he would have luck on his side!
