"Sounds like a fun guy to deal with." Murmured Faisal with a sigh. He wondered if the guy only cared about coin how much it could take to change his mind about the targets? "A meet up and extra security would be good. If anything happens at that meet up....I will handle things." He warned the two, still wary of everyone outside of his family.
"Perhaps in the meantime we could begin looking into reclaiming your title and estate? It could offer leads on your family's history. I can do some research from historical records as well. It may take a trip to the official archives but I'm willing to try." Faisal offered Sariza quietly. What if there had been some sort of deeper conspiracy after all?

If she could convince Indra that there was good coin in staying then perhaps Xenia wouldn't have to go back out to sea. The risks were high in this line of work; far higher than they would be on Indra's ship, but the body count would be much lower if she played her cards right. As much as Xenia genuinely wanted to help she was in this entirely for herself. She needed influential connections to help break her from her own curse and to get those she would need to clear one noble house and protect another.
"I need assurance that you won't go back on your word. Whose to say that once we get what you need you won't turn your blades to our necks?"
She wanted to trust them - really, she did - but Xenia didn't have that luxury and she suspected Valek didn't either.

"We'll handle things." She gave Faisal a hard look and reached over to give his hand a quick squeeze. "I'll have my unit perform 'practice' drills near the estate. I can't imagine anyone would want to take unnecessary risks with that many soldiers around." An entire calvary unit flocking to a nobles estate? It would draw attention and might have been the cause for gossip, but not since the wedding. They would be too busy fawning over the new heirs to consider the oddities.
"I'll start the process of petitioning the King and see what comes of it. Perhaps if it's mentioned enough in social circles we can get a feel for what houses are against the motion and find out why?" It wasn't much, but it would have to happen anyway. She would be making rounds at women's meetings with the boys soon enough so Sariza could always start there.
"I understand that our word doesn't mean much, but what will suffice to show you we mean what we say?"

Valek glanced towards Xenia, his mouth pursing into a thoughtful frown. It would be strange if he was fine without some sort of promise, that much he realized now. "Your family seal." He stated calmly after a moment. "You promised safety so put that in writing. It'll be a sign of faith that we're working together." It was worth more than any coin. Coins could help buy things but would do nothing if either of the noble Obans decided they had enough of their help from the shadows. A parchment with a family's seal, however, could be kept somewhere out of their reach and be found later to grab a promise or be used against them should something happen to either Xenia or Valek. It was a very bold request considering everything, but Valek was willing to put his foot down if that would ease his companion's worries. It would also show how determined these two were to acquire their aid.
"We're getting coin from you so it would be stupid for us to betray you, especially since you know our faces and obviously have ways to find us." He glanced towards Xenia acknowledging that she had been the one called out by Sariza to this place. The pair before them obviously had more than just their connections so it would be very stupid indeed to try to take coin and run. "We only get paid a portion now and the rest later, correct? I'll stick through this for the pay and the intrigue."

"Ah, yes." Faisal nodded as Sariza corrected him. They would most definitely handle things together, as promised. "With the drills happening and our normal staff on alert things should be easier. It will help to have someone if we do need to leave the estate since we can't have a whole unit trailing behind." He noted as the plan formed. They would have plenty of security and Faisal would like to see how amazing this guy was if he could get past all of that. Not that it would matter if coin was all that he was invested in. Faisal was more than willing to put some investments into others if that would get them the justice necessary to fix everything that was destroyed.
"The family seal?" Faisal's gaze narrowed as he studied the hybrid. While it was not an impossible suggestion, if anything it was a rather smart if not bold move on the other man's part, the fact that it was suggested startled him. How many families did this man interact with to even think of such a safety net? "It will have to be detailed so that nothing can get twisted along the way. I can prepare the documents if that is what you would like." Faisal glanced between the pair. "They will have to be kept in a secure location for your sakes and ours." If anyone saw a sealed parchment promising Faisal's protection it would not be too hard to put together the pieces, especially if it was the person targeting his family.

"So long as you give us your family seal-" She looked at Valek and nodded, pleased with his idea, "-that will be enough for me. I'll take half the payment now, but instead of the rest later I want a favor. No questions; I won't ask anything of you that would endanger your family further, but I need your word." She was deadly serious about the entire ordeal and while the yaeli certainly knew her chances of being shot down were far higher than being accepted she had to try. Just as they were out of options so was she.
"Are there any places that could be considered safe in Oba?" She couldn't help snorting.

"The temple of Nerad. I'm sure we can find a safe place for it there, and it won't draw attention from others should a variety of souls gather around the same spot." Even if the thief cared little for any punishment the God of Judgement could doll out surely the priesthood would be a deterrent. If they hid it somewhere remote then it would seem off for the four of them to be around that area and if it were in public they could be spotted. The temple of Nerad, however, was frequented by hundreds daily. Some were parishioners and others were simply travelers paying their respects.

Valek smirked before opening his mouth and promptly closing it again as Sariza offered a solution to Xenia's question. Sulburi was a busy city with plenty of room for the shadows to grow but something sacred like a temple could definitely give them some security. He found himself nodding, pleased by the idea. "The temple works and I'm personally fine with the coin." Valek offered with a slight glance towards Xenia, curious about what her favor would be. No questions. Well that wasn't fun!

Faisal raised a curious brow at Xenia's proposal. "As long as it is within reason and does not harm my family then I will trade the seal for a favor should this all work out as planned." He promised with a nod before glancing towards Sariza, appreciation showing in his gaze as she offered the temple. Faisal smiled before nodding. "We can easily arrange a meeting there and I can provide you the seal then. There's plenty of safe places at the temple of Nerad." Even if his family had connection to some of the priests they were all neutral, none he knew were willing to venture from their path while serving the god of Judgment after all.
"By the full moon's rising." He glanced up towards the sky thoughtfully. That would give them a couple of days to prepare the documents and exchange the information at the temple. "During the afternoon rush when those leaving from prayers are crowded around the outer temple we can meet then."

The temple of Nerad? Even if she wasn't as close with her Gods now that she'd grown there was still something off about going into a temple she didn't belong to. Xenia held her tongue, of course, and simply nodded. They weren't here to discuss personal philosophies, after all~
"Until the full moon," Xenia dipped her head to those gathered and backed away. She waited until she was far enough out of striking range to dare turn her back to any of them. A deal was struck, one that she needed to uphold, and now she only had a few days to get in contact with her assassin.
This was either going to be the best venture she'd ever undergone or the thing that would get her killed.

Watching Xenia leave, the oban decided now was as good a time as any to make their exit. She turned to Valek and leveled her gaze at him. She knew enough about the smaller yaeli to discern her character, but he was still a wild card. Perhaps when she made her rounds she could stop by the guard postings and see what they had on yaeli hybrids...
"Stay well." She turned away from him toward Faisal and when her husband was ready Sariza started to walk back home. When they were a safe enough distance away from the two she leaned closer, "I hope this wasn't a mistake."

"Full moon? Fine by me." Valek gave a nod as he waved a hand as if to dismiss the group. Because that was totally his power to do so, right? The hybrid grinned at the thought before preparing to leave. "We'll see what we can gather by then." He promised as he watched the group disperse.

Faisal could only watch the two contacts disappear into the darkness. At least they hadn't tried to stab them so he would consider tonight a win though he was wary about giving away his family seal. What would the Yaeli want with a sign of Oban nobility? Still, as long as her request was within reason he would do his best to abide by it if she did prove useful to their current situation.
"Only time will tell." He whispered back towards Sariza before grabbing her hand, squeezing her fingers comfortingly as they ventured back towards home under the cover of darkness.
