Richtersveld hadn't gotten the impression that Serentatis was reckless, but there was also something else about the way she had phrased her words that caught Richtersveld's attention. She was speaking in either a deadpan -- an understandable deadpan, considering the situation -- or there was an earnestness behind the thought that perhaps she could invade the Negaverse. Something was cute there as much as it was heartbreaking; a mission to retrieve something important that was unlikely to find any fruit.

It was the where that confirmed the second one, and she found herself pausing for a moment in her words as she considered the right way to word this. She supposed if Serentatis had met the Code right away, she knew plenty about strange places that one could teleport to unexpectedly. She was uncertain how much she would have known about the Negaverse, though, considering that she wasn't quite sure how the magic of their dimension worked.

... Only added to the religious sensation, honestly.

She wanted to avoid sounding patronizing like her sibling might have, but there was no avoiding this being a moment of teaching. She hoped Serentatis might find some comfort in the tea. "That's the thing." Richtersveld's smile was gentle, though it lacked the joy it might have if she was speaking of something less grim. "It's not in a place that's easily accessible. It's ... woven in the fabric of Earth, somewhere," that was her best guess, considering how the agents accessed it via Earth, "in some magical dimension. Only the agents of the Negaverse can get to it, or people they take with them."

And she was fairly sure no one would give Serentatis a ride to the Negaverse unless they were expecting to corrupt her or kill her.

"I'm uncertain how we invaded, other than it has something to do with one of the aliens." Her brows knit. "I don't think it's likely to happen again easily."

Softly, then, she followed that up with a, "I'm sorry."

Something to do with one of the aliens, well yes she supposed that made sense considering everything else that had been put before her at this stage. She had been transported to the moon, she had been transformed with magic and there were peculiar cthulu-esque soul stealing beasts roaming the earth... It stood to reason that aliens were a very real thing too. To assume they wouldn't be was naïve at best.

...But if they had reached that place before.

"Unlikely, but not impossible," Serenitatis murmured after a moment of thought and smiled. Perhaps that was why The Code had selected her, mused over her potential and then finally brought her forth to give her this power. Where others might have given up (and rightly so), this Page seemed to cling to at least the vague notion of hope. Until it was proven that it was impossible, then she would continue to do what she could.

"However, if I can't even properly fend off a small beast now, then I should probably walk before I can run," she added. Reassurance that the other knight might have needed at that point. It was a plan for another time, a later time, perhaps when she had managed to persuade others to rally to the cause and she had a means to get there.

"Though if I may ask..." she pursed hr lips thoughtfully. "What do these aliens look like?"

Unlikely, but not impossible.

Richtersveld supposed that was true. If they had done it once, it could be done again, right? She wasn't terribly sure she'd recommend the attempt, especially if she were to attempt it herself. Being in the place that the Negaverse originated seemed like it would be overwhelming at best, likely incredibly deadly at worst. Perhaps Serentatis would be afforded some leniency in the sense that her being a Moon Page was different and new -- they might want to question her or find out more about her first.

None of that sounded promising, and she found herself relieved when Serentatis said she should likely learn to walk before she ran. Richtersveld couldn't quite stop the nod of agreement. If her goal was to get back to the Negaverse and save starseeds -- perhaps including this one, however unlikely -- she'd need to have a bigger team on her side first.

"Oh! I can explain that." Her fingers tapped against the edge of the cup. "They have pastel skin tones, frequently in shades of purple, but I've also seen blues, pinks," her brows knit as she thought about what she had seen at that battle, before she continued, her brows lifting, "long hair, frequently wearing braids but not always. Cat-like pupils. To be honest, they make me think of elves if you're into fantasy stories at all? Pastel elves."

The description had worked excellently for her sibling, at least...

"They seem to all have a very common uniform they wear. Looks like it came out of a sci-fi show, I think." She took another sip from her cup. "Of course, I can't guarantee they'll be wearing that all the time. And I think their alliance is ... complicated. Be careful, if you approach them. I don't think we should consider them hostile, but,"

But all the same, she had seen what had happened at that battle, and she had seen that not many of the aliens had ultimately gone with them to the Moon. That gave her the impression that perhaps some of these aliens had agreed with the actions to corrupt them, for whatever their reason.

Serenitatis had missed something, Richtersveld didn't need to go in to much detail. Serenitatis could hear the intonation and on this occasion she made the decision not to pry. The most she would do was take note of the warning and when she managed to reach out to them for some information, treat them with the respect they should be afforded. She wasn't naive in the sense that they may all choose to ignore her... but she still had to try.

"I'll be careful," she offered a warm smile of reassurance.

"But I will find them, if only to find out what the art of the possible is," she added. Sure, her prying might end up with them flagging her interest to the wrong side but, if there was a way, then wasn't it her duty to try? She couldn't win on her own and she would certainly need to give considerable thought to any plans before she asked others to join her in her attempts... but she had to try.

She needed to.

"For now though I suspect I have quite a bit to practice. no?" she smiled wryly. "Starting with the little pocket, if only so I can store a coat," she chuckled.

Good.

The last thing Richtersveld wanted to hear about was that making a connection between a new knight and the Velencians simply led to more corrupted knights. She knew the Velencians didn't seem capable of withdrawing starseeds -- though their commodore had, so who knew, maybe they just needed the right technology -- but she had no idea what their connection to the Negaverse was beyond that, and if they summoned a Negaverse agent to kill or corrupt Serentatis--

Well, Richtersveld would be distraught.

"The Velencians seem curious about us too, if anything," she leaned back against the wall, taking one more sip of her tea before realizing she was out and disappearing the cup back to her invisible backpack. "So they might be able to answer some of your questions. Or maybe they won't know what you're talking about," she knit her brows, realizing that might not have not super widespread among the common Velencian, "but they still generally seem willing to talk."

Well.

They had before--

"You'll get a hang of the little pocket thing, I promise. It seems a bit strange at first, but it starts just innately making sense and you'll just do it. Like a lot of things about being a knight. I found using my magic once I reached this stage was unexpected, but felt instinctual."

"It can't be any worse than my performance on some failed hobbies," Serenitatis admitted with a wry smile. If she could at least get the pocket thing to work then she'd consider that a success. It didn't have to be pretty or graceful, it just needed to work and that was all she'd need. She'd leave the flourishes to other individuals and keep to the more 'practical' side.

...She could flourish elsewhere, right?

"I think my first mission may be to learn how to put a coat in there," she admitted with a sigh ad peered down at the goosebumps on her arms. "It doesn't seem entirely smart to be running round in a dress in this weather," she continued and shook her head slowly. It wasn't that she intended to be rude, but when it came to her own personal comfort it was getting more than a little bit chilly!

"And some gloves," she murmured. "Maybe a hat..." she ticked that one off on her fingers and clucked her tongue.

"Until then maybe small bursts of exposure to the elements is more appropriate," she concluded. "...Least until spring anyway."

Richtersveld couldn't help a giggle at that.

She understood the failed hobbies. Not that she was terribly good at forming hobbies in the first place, admittedly. Her busybody of a sibling was always admonishing her about how she didn't take enough time for herself and enjoying herself. In name, she liked playing tennis, and whittling, and going to the beach, but in practice... Well. It was lucky if she played one tennis match a month, these days.

"I think a coat would be an excellent idea," offered Richtersveld, brightly. "Plutonian knights tend to be pretty covered from what I've noticed -- guess it's our style -- but it doesn't seem like Moon Knights like you are so lucky. Unfortunately, I don't have a coat on me, or I'd offer..."

That was actually a bit silly of her, when she thought about it. If she came across someone shivering or cold, a coat would have been useful. Intentionally in a larger size so she could cover any possibility. She'd have to put that on the list of "potential things to jam into the invisible backpack." Or at least a blanket, perhaps...

"I do have gloves, though," carefully, she plucked a small pair of gloves she had clearly bought from a dollar store out of nowhere and offered them in Serentatis' direction. "Just to help a bit until spring, right?"

Her smile was warm.

"Though hopefully the spring weather will arrive soon."
