(8/10) Nimueh wouldn't have stopped the fond smile that bloomed on his face, even if he wanted to maintain the 'threatening' aura he'd started with. He'd thrown that aside minutes ago, when his careful consideration had shifted to warmth towards the young man. "When she was maybe ten or so, she marched into the tavern where my sister worked and yelled at a handful of mercenaries to quiet down. Then she made them all listen to her when she sang." He gazed off for a moment, then shook himself and hastened to comply with Asa's instructions.
As he moved back to the table and passed the ingredients over, he watched Asa's magic, head canted in a way that was almost adorably curious, for such a big, older man. Magic was still so strange to him - even if his son possessed it.
"If you think that's bad, you'll hate that when I was a boy, maglardilla was what we had for feasts." He disclosed it with a certain amount of glee, smirking at the smaller man as he sat once more. "There are some very strange, but very delicious things in this world."

Asa couldn't have stopped the laugh that slipped out if he wanted to. "I can see her doing that clear as day! It's a wonder she wasn't hurt." Spirits, what was he going to do with two of them? He prayed fervently for a daughter to escape the Sargsyan curse, but in a way that worried him more. A little girl with a mind as set on her goals as her mother...none of them would survive! They would either work in conjunction to bend the world to their whim or butt heads every chance they had.
Asa reached for the herbs and rolled the leaves until they crumpled in his hands. He sprinkled them liberally into his nearly empty cup, then muttered an incantation while pouring a fresh cup. For a moment the liquid within glowed as bright as a sunset in Tale before retreating into it's natural colors. As a bit of added assurance Asa added two drops from the vial and let it simmer before taking a drink.
"Oh." There was absolutely no way to hide his horror. "Aren't those the large insects that cling to the walkways? And you...eat...those?"

(9/10) This was... nice. Nimueh had never considered how nice it would be, to talk about his child with a future partner of theirs. He chuckled heartily, but then fell silent as Asa prepared his medicine, watching with open curiosity. Then, he spoke about the maglardilla, and the sheer horror on Asa's face made him smile again, eyes crinkling with almost childish pleasure. "That's the ones, yes. It was quite normal at the time, I was being raised Alkidike, but - when I moved to Zena my mothers were horrified too. I never got used to roati, they always were too gamey in comparison..."
Around this time, he could hear a bit of stirring from the other room. Nothing too loud, but shuffling and a few muffled giggles, still sleepy but very much awake.
"... Thank you, for watching them. I'll admit, we left them with you more to terrorize you than anything else. But they seem to really enjoy your company."

"Is it something that you've had since coming back to Jauhar? What I mean is was it what you would consider a comfort food? There are certain broths that I miss from Zena that were much thicker than anything we've had on the road and honestly, I kind of miss the roati." He gave a little laugh at that. "My favorite was honeyed mammu roast. Our cooks would spend a week preparing it and now it seems like a waste of resources, but in the moment it's bliss."
Asa, too, heard the noises and for a moment he leaned over to listen more closely. Nothing too energetic, but just enough to keep him on edge. "I thought as much. I honestly don't mind it. It's practice and more over, it's fun to chase them." He truly couldn't keep the smile off his face.
"So long as I'm able I'd like to keep watching them. There aren't many jobs I can take on so this is the least I can do to thank you for all you've done."

(10/10) Mammu?! Nimueh instantly thought to the mammu he'd used for work, back when he lived in Zena - they were so useful, that eating them felt unusual to him! Not only that, but he knew how expensive it was! He laughed, softly, raking a hand down his face. "Rich boy." He mused, shaking his head.
All this talk of food though made him hungry, so he pulled the bowl Asa had initially set out with their tea towards him, taking a few pieces to crunch on.
"Hmm. Well, if you're signing up for it I won't say no." He said with a lopsided smirk. "I'll appreciate the time with Callum, before your little ones show up and we lose our live in nanny."
