Eleonora defiantly leveled a pointed glare at the vibrantly dark corrupt. Her arms held the mauvian close but not so much to squish him. She was more than aware that a measure of gratitude was owed for dispelling the youma. BUT, and that was a big but… that creature was originally Gemlin’s problem not hers. It had been pursuing him before she tried to intervene. So much for trying to be a good samaritan.“Honestly, if he really is your cat… Th-then I feel like I should take my-y chances and find some other agent to pass him off to.” A stupidly foolish thing to say but she didn’t stop there. “Twice- TWICE” she repeated with added emphasis and even allowed herself a moment to let Gemlin go with one arm just so that she could hold two fingers up, she was that angry. “Not once, no but twice now I’ve found him out here in this horrible weather alone. First time all he had was a blanket and this time. This time he was being chased by that thing.” Waved a hand in the direction of the fallen youma since she didn’t really have any creative words for that tentacle thing. “As someone who claims him as yours, you don’t take care of him very well.” Between being angry and cold, it seems that fury won out since the shivering all but stopped. “If he wants to go with you fine but if not, then I’ll find someone else who will take care of him properly!”

Uh, hello?
What the frick was she glaring at him for? Diesel had done what she wanted him to do at great personal risk to himself, and she had the audacity to clutch his cat and snap at him and waggle her fingers like he was in the wrong? He'd come out here because his Guardian had asked him to, and he hadn't known then it would involve conspiring with a White Moon girl and dusting youma on the scene. His lips swished to one side, and he stared down at her like he'd just been blindsided by the sheer nonsense of what was happening.
Gremlin's ears flattened as he was nestled under the girl's chin, and he craned his head up in what Diesel expected was the tell-tale sign of a nasty throat-bite incoming, but the hairless goblin only peered at the White Moon girl through narrowed eyes, leaving the Negaverse senshi to sort things out without the Mauvian's help.
As usual.
"Look, lady. I dunno how long you've been doing this, but seeing that you are a senshi and must have had at least one run-in with a cat prior to this one, I gotta assume you know that they're not children who need looking after. Gremlin is an intelligent, grown adult who can make his own choices. He's not a cat I can just lock up in my room to make sure he stays safe. He has his own obligations, and so do I. The most I can do is be there when he calls, which I am? I obviously am; I'm standing right in front of you."
He knelt then, hovering an arm out to take his freaking cat from her. "I'm not trying to start a fight with you 'cause I see you were trying to help him out too, but honestly, you better quittit with that condescending tone 'cause from the looks of things, you're not really in a position to be going off on me. I don't wanna take him from you. I figure you were just trying to be nice, but I will-"
"It's fine," Gremlin rasped as he craned his head to peer back at Diesel. He still felt a cold in his bones, but it wasn't paralyzing, didn't shock him still like a dunk in the water. He squirmed his way from the girl's arms, snapping his ratty tail across her shoulder as he bounced first to the ground, then to a perch in Diesel's lap. "We'll go now. There's no reason to stay. She's hardly worth the trouble. Probably won't make it home, soaking wet in the cold like that."

When Gremlin moved to leave, Eleonora did nothing to stop or sway him. She would have been true to her word if he’d stayed but he had made his decision. A thanks would have been appreciated but that kind of gratitude was no doubt beneath him. The anger she felt banked into a mild frustration. While she questioned the legitimacy of Gremlin being an adult, what he said was true, mauvian was at least intelligent. Much to her chagrin, she admitted at least this much to herself. Still, it bothered her to no end that the hairless mcnugget was out in the cold. Yes, the corrupt claimed the cat was his, but there was a huge difference from assuming responsibility and actually wanting them around. Had she not shown up when she did, there was little doubt in her mind that he would have made a tasty youma treat well before the corrupt would have learned that he was gone. Slate-blue eyes, full with pity, watched the hairless wonder find a comfortable perch in the young man's lap. “Probably…” she bitterly agreed with his last statement. “But I’m not sure I’m willing to give up on this friendship we’re building.” A small smirk tugged the corner of her lips as she looked down at both arms; one faint scar that was barely visible but of anyone he’d know where to look to find it. “No new scratches this time…” Her movements were slow as she shifted to stand. A sweep of her hands on the back of her skirt sent a few clumps of slushy snow to the ground by her gold-sandal feet. Not exactly proper footwear for this kind of weather but it wasn’t as if she had much choice in her attire. All she needed was to get far enough away from them to power down into her civilian clothes that would at least be dry. “For what it’s worth, thank you for taking care of the youma.” And letting me go I suppose… The last left unsaid in case he changed his mind and took her too or called for backup when already she was currently outnumbered. “G’bye, Gremlin,” Eleonora waved a hand before turning to leave and not once did she look back.

To be honest, the whole situation was super fricken' weird, and Diesel still wasn't sure he fully understood how this pair had ended up together. Gremlin wasn't always forthcoming with what he was willing to share, so Diesel was under no impression he'd get the full- or even most of the story.
...But that was all right, he supposed. No one was hurt in any way they couldn't recover from. Probably. Gremlin was still quivering, tail jerking around like a serpent trying to ward off an enemy. And the senshi girl was covered in ice and slush. Diesel almost wanted to ask if he should-? Well, he didn't know what he should do and didn't figure it mattered since she was up and on her way with a smirk and a little farewell.
A chittery rumble tore through Gremlin's throat, and his ears pinned flat as he shot the girl a snaggle-toothed hiss, but he made no comment. Their "friendship" had a ways to go, yet.
Once she was off, Diesel crowded the Mauvian against his chest, using the wrap at his hips to bundle him up again. To his surprise, Gremlin allowed it. Usually alleviating personal discomfort was hardly enough to make him personable, but maybe he was still in shock from the water. Diesel didn't question it. He did, however, inquire about what the ********> was going on here. "So did you, like, know that girl, or something?" Diesel asked as they started off back down the street with Gremlin tucked closely against him.
The Guardian puffed out a nondescript noise, leaned his head to Diesel's chest, so that one of his huge ears was smashed between them, and tucked his muzzle down into the wrap so that his words were muffled. "Nah, didn't even know the witch's name. Brat just showed up, as they are wont to do. Probably won't see her again. It was nothing."
No reason to ever expect more than that.
