By the time Luc had placed back her weapons and then gone outside, Solari had just thrown her pouch of coins at one of her friends and was walking away. Alright then, guess she wouldn’t say goodbye or continue their little gamble elsewhere.
“She took half the gold!” Marii screeched.
“What?!” Lucretia walked over and looked into the pouch. There were some stones instead of coins. “You were in charge of the pouch Marri!” They all look in the direction Solari had gone but couldn’t find her. That was why she’d slipped away quickly.
“I’m not paying you back.” Luc said angrily. She couldn’t believe this.

Solari couldn’t believe she’d gotten away with it. Those girls really had been dumb. None of them had even deigned to look her way when she’d pretended to drop something on the ground and gathered the small rocks while Lucretia had been stuck cleaning up inside. The Matori opened the pouch and began counting again the coins she’d made out with. Took bad she couldn’t have taken everything, but it looked like she’d gotten away with half which was not bad. Perhaps the next time they would play Solari would finally beat Lucretia and get the remaining amount from her.

Lucretia was furious. She had been robbed metaphorically and really robbed. She had lost gold and she had lost out on a win. Thankfully, none of her family had been there to watch her defeat or she wouldn’t have ever heard the end of it.
“If any of you breathe a word of this to my family I will ruin you.” She threatened them and they all rolled their eyes at her. She also certainly was not paying Marii back. One of them should have grabbed the pouch off the table before Solari did. She doubted they’d ever see the woman again too, not after she’d robbed them.

Solari headed for the boat that was going to take her back to Tendaji. She would be very early still, but she hoped they would allow her on board at least so she could hide away. She didn’t want to risk getting caught in case the kids did decide to tell an adult and they got the authorities involved. Though she didn’t think Lucretia was the type to tell anyone with that kind of attitude. Her friend tho…
“See you later Luc.” Solari said under her breath with a smile. She probably wouldn’t be back in this city for a little while.

“I’m going back home.” Lucretia announced. The girls said their goodbyes and parted ways. She couldn’t stand being with them any longer.
Truthfully, Lucretia was probably going to go home and practice with the throwing knives for quite a while yet. She wanted to be ready if she ever saw Solari again. She didn’t so much care about the money as long as they caught fighting again. Though perhaps then she’d use her other weapons. Who knew. Maybe Solari wouldn’t ever come back to Belrea and Lucretia would forget about her. Though she was going to make sure they weren’t robbed ever again.
