Asphodel gave a brief, dry chuckle that didn't travel very far outside of the little space they were sharing. There was a story, certainly, but not one he was going to tell an alien stranger.
"Like I said," he answered instead, "it'll take your people longer than six weeks to understand our world. A lot longer."

It wasn't an answer, but then, there was no reason that she should have been expecting one. He was a stranger. She was an outsider who had brought trouble.
She understood.
She looked away from the cityscape and towards him, for one second more.
"I will try to keep learning," she said.
Then, thinking it might be better to leave him to his thoughts, she began to walk backwards, away from the lake and through the snow, towards the tree line.

There was, after all, much to learn from Velencya as well.
