"Hope she can figure out how to eat right an' not be grumpy all the time. Don't want her to be grumpy forever; she's awful nice when she ain't thinkin' too much." She tried with Kina, really she did! But Einsol's communications with her older sister seemed to break down half the time. Just because, on occasion! An' that wasn't fair to Nykinae, which only made her little sister try to help more. There were some frustrations developing, to say nothing of the elder's attitude towards good clean mud! Oh well. It hurt to see Kina leave, but she was comin' back. Just like Papa always came back. The dark-haired head nuzzled up into the snuggles. Now freed up, her hands could grab at an arm and hug that, even if she couldn't get at anything else to return the gesture. Were she herself feline, Einsol would have purred. "Think we can move 'im to the terrarrarrarrium yet? ...What's a terr. Er. What's his house look like, anyway?"

Kiyelt 9
"Me too Einsol, me too." His oldest daughter seemed to have some things to work on, not the least of which was her temper. He wondered where she got it from, his side or Nins? Who knew. "She will be okay Einsol, just give her some time."
He looked over at the Keldari, which seemed to be content enough, eyes alert and glinting with the tongue flick-flicking every so often. "I think it would be pretty safe. A terrarium is basically an area where the slithering one will have everything he needs, like water, a hidey hole, a climby tree. It is important to rearrange it once in a while so he doesn't get too bored. But its a place where he can know he is safe. I think it might be best to have it in here with you and Ushi."
"Let me just go fetch it." It was heavy and out in the shed where he had made it.
Coming back he set down the large frame. "There now we add water to the dish."
The keldari seemed relatively interested in what was going on on the other side of the room because there were a lot of vibrations coming from over there. Flick-flick, flick-flick. The big one was back. Having heat sensing pits was just downright useful sometimes.

For a moment, little arms squoze tighter about the bigger one. "Okay. I don't gotta like it, tho'." Sadly, they needed to stop snuggling so that Ray might have his new house. This time, Einsol stayed to keep the serpent company. The tree Kiyelt brought in was a lot of fun to look at. There were deep holes here and there, some arrangements to hold a bowl probably, and a sort of folding screen for the bottom. Papa had found some rocks to hold that last one steady and weight the whole thing. That last part looked necessary. No danger of tipping over and dropping a startled keldari on anyone. While he set it up, she trotted out to draw water from the pot Here the sunny child's feet kept a steady pace, the better not to spill. Much. She couldn't avoid a little sloshing in the pitcher; it was designed to come out, right? So it was with less-than-perfect accuracy that she tipped a pitcher into the little pool, only slopping some water over the sides. Face screwed up in concentration, she just managed to avoid overfilling it, and grinned at her handiwork. The newly christened Ray had begun creeping down from the windowsill, hanging off and searching out a good place from with to continue its descent. That tree looked like the safest place in here, and the big one could be trusted so far. Perhaps the smaller thing was his hatchling? They'd created a tree and pool, so it might be that they were inviting him...?

Kiyelt grinned at the results of their handiwork. "It sure looks good Einsol, you did a great job!" A slight movement caught his attention. "Looks like someone else is interested too. Huh Ray? Does it look good little buddy?" The snake was definitely interested in the new addition to the room. Perhaps it had been made to his liking and Kiyelt's educated guesses might have paid off? Thallassa owed him five silvers then if the snek liked it. They had running bets for small cash and had for the longest time. He walked over and offered Ray a lift by offering his arm, "If he lets me Einsol he might let you hold him too do you want to try?" The snake glided onto him and he offered his arm, "Hold your arm out and make a bridge with the other one to the tree, maybe he will climb over us."

Again, praise and again, a beaming smile fit to light the room. Water could be soaked up; didn't matter if it were a smidge messy. But stuff was moving, no time to stand around admiring her water-pouring! As invited, the tamer's daughter shifted, putting the pitcher down and reaching out to grab hand and false limb firmly. Their new friend might be heavy, after all. The bright sleek length of him was cool to the touch, to Einsol's surprise. A brief pause while Ray flicked his tongue, tasted the hatchling's scent. A moment more, and he slid across her skin, all not-quite meter of him, over the shoulders and onto the lowest branch. From there, the powerful muscles of the keldari belly carried him across to the imitation tree, where he soon found a comfy spot to sun himself. He'd remember the hatchling's scent, he decided in the depths of a semivisible skull. For now, Ray would coil up in a loose ball, enjoying the warmth and relatively safe height. His new friend, meanwhile, kept her attention firmly snekward until all was still. "Hoo... He's so smooth. I 'spected him t'be kinda rough an' prickly, but he feels nice. Thanks for beingin' him, Papa. I think we're gonna get along pretty good."
