Quynh pursed her lips in silent approval. If anything she was certain the Aishan probably deserved a rock to the face...not that she was one to judge. Never. As it was Quynh decided to focus on the more important matter- helping the other girl to swim. "Of course!" She replied quickly. "It's a bit trickier when you can't easily float but not impossible. " Her Elarian mother had taught her that since she was bulkier than both Quynh and her Alkidike mother. Swimming was crucial in her life since they explored so many areas, including a lot of islands and lakes that required swimming at times. If anything Quynh almost felt more at home in the water than in the trees some days. Admittedly though she didn't struggle so much with floating herself since she was more petite than Ilsa with lean muscle rather than bulk.
"You just have to get acquainted with the water. We can wade around for a bit and focus on breathing. If you don't float easily then you have to work on breathing so that you can swim easier. Holding your breath helps with floating since it fills your chest up with air." Quynh beamed towards the other girl as she sucked in a huge breath, her cheeks swelling up as she demonstrated. "You breath out and in while swimming though. "

Acquainted with the water? She'd been around these streams for the entirety of her young life, what more was there to learn? Ilsa couldn't help quirking her brow skeptically, but she kept her mouth shut. If there was a trick to this that she didn't know then...she wanted to know it. Once she was a better swimmer then she could better serve her sisters and maybe they would see something special in her. Something worth being nicer to.
Just to practice, Ilsa sucked in the biggest breath she could and held it before slowly letting it go. "Like that?"

"Like that. " Replied Quynh with a grin before slipping into the water. "Just practice holding your breath and then breathing to keep pace with your strokes." The hybrid bounced around in the water a bit before glancing towards Ilsa. "Carefully come in and get used to the water first. When you're ready to try swimming you can push off from the rock over there and come towards me. I'll catch you." Gliding through the water towards her mothers had been her first swimming experience. Even if it felt repetitive it was nice to know she could push herself forward and get caught in case she stumbled before learning how to properly move with her arms and legs in the water.

Ilsa's steps were cautious at best as she maneuvered into the cool stream. The stone beneath her feet were slick with a slime that curled the hairs on her spine. Strangely enough it wasn't the thought of something getting her toes that made her worry, but rather the thought of being dunked and held under. She'd already let Qunyh know she wasn't a good swimmer and now she was supposed to trust her?
Bit by bit Ilsa practiced her breathing and got down to her shoulders in the water. There was a fear in her of what could happen, but she didn't want to miss out on something that could be fun. Qunyh seemed to be happy so maybe...
Taking a big breath, Ilsa pushed off from the side and did her best to stay upright.

Maybe if her new acquaintance perhaps friend one day could manage swimming it would inspire her to overcome other obstacles in life? Quynh could only hope so as she encouraged the other hybrid into the water. "Don't forget your breathing!" She instructed as she took in a deep breath and waded into the deeper waters. "Take a lot in and then push off towards me." She instructed as she braced herself to catch the other girl. So far she seemed willing to put her faith in Quynh, a rare thing indeed, but that made the girl even more determined to be helpful. This was her first experience with another Aishan youngling that didn't end up in tears or bruises and she was eager to see how everything played out. The last thing she would do is let the other girl drown on her watch! Quynh found herself actually smiling as she waited in the waters, her thoughts already swirling with all of the swimming lessons that her mothers had given her over the years. Surely she could help Ilsa with this much at least!
