It was just them in the house anyway. He peeled potatoes.

"Do you have any ideas of what you might want to be when you grow up Zohra? You don't need to have an answer yet, I'm just curious. It took me forever to decide on what I wanted to do."

He made a hum at not having to be a helper for the meal. While he did help Ari when he cooked, if he was asked, it wasn't his favorite thing to do. Instead he seemed to be more interested in watching the goings on in the kitchen.

"Uh, not really.. Nothing really sounds good." Zohra wasn't sure what he wanted to do forever. And forever sounded like an awfully long time to be stuck doing one thing.

"Fair enough son, it took me forever to choose, and there is so much more out there for you to see still." He smiled. He adored all of his children and he really cherished moments like this.

"You know I love you right," he said as he peeled potatoes and made the fish batter. He was so happy. His son was so handsome too, a perfect mesh of himself and Thea all mashed into one crazy roll. He was so lucky. "You are so handsome."

He stared at his dad for a moment before he rolled his eyes. "Stop being weird." Being told he was handsome by his parents fell in that category.

His eyes dropped to the food and he heard his stomach growl. Now he was really hungry. "You're slow. Mom cooks faster." Zohra teased his dad with a grin. "Gonna tell Mom she has to cook from now on or I'll starve."

Rydan smirked. "Your mother is hyperefficient I am methodical, you will still be fed before you perish..I hope. Just in case here is a cracker."

He could tell that this particular son was going to have a great sense of humor. He also loved that Zohra hated the compliments it was so easy to make him squirm. He supposed he was only allowed to show emotion to Thea and none of his actual kids.
