Yep, this was exactly how it was going to go.
They weren’t supposed to still be mad at each other. It just didn’t happen like that. Mad was such an energy-intensive state, so it didn’t make sense to be prolongedly mad! So he was fine to be fine. For now. Calaverite would remember this was how they’d handled things. Probably. There was always that chance Cervantite good distract him with a good time, and maybe he’d forget about it. But despite how Cala had punished his friend, he was still happy to play a game with him.
He may have even wished they could stay like that, with Cala leaning in close so he could see everything Cervantite was doing, leaning on him, hugging on him. Of course they were friends! One of them could make mistakes, and they could still be friends!
It helped that Cala liked Rakovanite a lot, and since Cervantite was his little brother, he must know all the things that would make his general happy…
So they could be friends. They had to be friends. Calaverite disentangled himself from the other boy and scooted back across the floor as the cards were dealt out.
The rest- all the havoc Cervantite was occupied with- those things were not important to Calaverite. Aliens, wars, whatever. He figured tending to those things was kind of like his job, and he didn’t want to get bogged down with things like work. It was part of being a senshi, and he liked being a senshi and loved his home in the Negaverse, but worrying about those things was for people like the Queen and Rakovanite. Cala just had to follow when they called. He could do that.
But this part of his life- the making friends and doing fun activities part- that was more important. He hoped Cervantite got over hos whole being mad thing so that they could actually enjoy this game and Cala could win in peace.
