It hadn't been effective, exactly, but it had been good practice for when they'd transformed into something a lot more useful.

For one thing, she was sure Chrys could find her own important work to get into, even if she was insisting there wasn't anything going on right this second. For another thing, Sylvite got pretty particular about her paperwork.
