No matter what Aquamarine tried, he was clearly outmatched in a show of raw strength. Without the speed of teleportation, or any of the Negaverse’s other little tricks, he was just some punk who liked to murder people in his spare time. There was no doubt in Sessrumnir’s mind that this General was dangerous with the full backing of Chaos behind him. His lack of hesitation in stabbing him was pretty much proof of his ruthlessness. If Sessrumnir was smart he would just kill him and maybe save some other lives in the process.

But this was more than just wanting to stop a single Negaverse General. This was about sending a message.

So he didn’t relent when he dropped to his own knees to pin Aquamarine further to the ground, using his own legs and ankles to stop the General from thrashing and writhing as easily. He punched him in return for every attempt at struggling Aquamarine made to get away. And after checking to make sure the crack he heard was more likely Aquamarine’s rib than his knuckles, he grabbed hold of both of the General’s wrists and shoved them against the ground above his head.

Sessrumnir didn’t stop to admire (if he could really call it that) his work until he had both of Aquamarine’s wrists -- paying extra attention to make sure he was hurting his broken hand -- were held in place above his head with one hand. His free hand reached down to remove the dagger from the General’s shoulder and pressed the sharp edge of the blade tight against his neck.

“I hope Jet doesn’t just like you for your pretty face-- well, it was pretty,” he scoffed. He was sure the swelling would be worse later.

It happened quickly — so quickly Aquamarine had no concept of how much time actually passed. It could have been seconds, or minutes. It could have been hours, but he knew that wasn’t the case. Someone would have come across them eventually. Jet would have come looking for him.

He was overpowered, his limbs pinned, his face brutalized, his body pummeled. Sessrumnir never used his magic, never called his wolf; Aquamarine was cognizant enough through it all to notice that.

Did the smoke affect Sessrumnir, too? Or did he prefer physical violence to prove he didn’t need magic, to make it personal?

Aquamarine could barely breathe through the pain. Blood stained his face, his clothes; it dripped from his mouth, his nose, his hairline, seeped from his shoulder, through his jacket. If he lived through this, he would be swollen and bruised, bloody and broken. Aquamarine shouted his pain and rage through clenched teeth. He repressed what he could, unwilling to give Sessrumnir the satisfaction.

Then his own dagger was against his neck. It nicked the skin in the midst of his ragged breathing.

Aquamarine glared as well as he could, forced air into his lungs and held it there to steady himself, then spat in Sessrumnir’s face.

He watched the mix of saliva and blood drip down Sessrumnir’s cheek.

“He’ll have your head next,” Aquamarine hissed. “Another souvenir for the Princess before she’s presented to the Queen.”

“No, he won’t,” Sessrumnir said with a low, confident growl, eyes burning as he stared down at what was left of the cocky General. “Not when we have his head first. He’ll end up just like you are right now. Except I won’t spare his life, in the end. We’ll make sure he suffers as much as he’s made everyone else suffer, first. Make sure you tell him that. Like I said, he’ll get what’s coming to him.”

And with that, Sessrumnir took the dagger away from Aquamarine’s neck, and plunged it into his other shoulder. He felt like he was being too merciful, and that he would regret not killing him, or maiming him. But maybe, maybe Aquamarine would take the warning to heart. Maybe others would look at him and think twice about messing with any Senshi or Knight.

As he stood, he wiped the spit from his cheek, but that was hardly a concern with how much blood was already on him and Aquamarine alike.

He would have stayed to taunt him more, but he knew his minute was almost up, if it wasn’t already. It would just take Aquamarine trying to summon his weapons to realize. Which is why Sessrumnir aimed one last punch against the side of Aquamarine’s face in the hopes of dazing him enough while he took his leave.

Except as he was starting to walk away, his foot kicked the blade of Aquamarine's rapier. He paused and bent down to pick it up. For good measure, he drove the thin blade into Aquamarine's thigh, and then left.
