 Blaze didn't even flinch at the disgust he could hear in the man's tone. He knew his eyes weren't the prettiest to look at, especially with the heavy scarring from the battle, but it was what it was. "Dead," Blaze answered the first question, replacing the covering over his eyes. "I killed him when I took over my former pack, but he blinded me in the process. Now it seems that was all in vain, since my pack was wiped out a few years ago." His voice was impassive as he spoke, but anyone who knew anything about lycans knew that lone wolves had a tendency to go mad without others of their kind nearby. That being said, Blaze was an Alpha, so perhaps that was why he still had his sanity.

   ᙏαɾι Ɛɬι𐌶αßҽ𝜏ԋ Ɗҽɾιടσ ♬ There're so many scars on your skin... Please don't lose yourself...♬ The next thing Mari knew, she was in the vampire's arms and that he was holding her bridal style. She was blushing slightly now for two reasons. One that she let something distract her in the first place and had put herself in risk of getting an injury so shame was a part of this blush. Secondly, that she was in his arms bridal style and that she was attracted to him. 'His lime green eyes , I could get lost in them if I'm not careful.' Mari thought before looking away from his face. She took a few deep breathes before hearing the little girl asking her if she was okay.
"I'm alright, thanks to your family member catching me like he did." Mari said as she could tell that the two were related but wasn't sure if they were father/daughter or a niece/uncle relation so she used the family member so not to offend on the off chance she used the wrong family title..." I think I'm good now, thanks for catching like you did sir. " She said to the vampire male while trying not to think about certain things.

Marcus listened, now more interested. This one usurped his father, and did away with him. Also, he had no pack to run. He had heart of a fighter and strength to fight. Might be a worthy candidate.
"Hmm, a shame, but..I may have an opening on my security team if you can stomach working with me." Marcus raised the newspaper and waved it back and forth in front of Blaze. And he rolled it up tight, and tight. Paper scrunched with audible noise. He took the paper and held it in strong grasp.
"If you can take this from me, perhaps. Are you up for it?"

Blaze listened carefully to Marcus' next words. Working security for a vampire. Hmm, interesting offer. Not something he would have seen himself doing in the past, but now.... Hearing the challenge had him lifting his head, just slightly. Marcus knew now what he was, and even made enough noise to give Blaze an idea of where the paper was. All he had to do was take the newspaper from him? Normally, the Alpha in him would have scoffed at such a challenge, but that was before he'd lost his sight. Now, he would have to rely on his senses in order to actually meet the challenge. That being said, he didn't move right away, giving him time to get a feel for his surroundings. When he was sure of where Marcus was located, if he hadn't moved, his right arm shot out, aiming for the newspaper. Whether he was able to take it from Marcus' grip was up to the vampire.

Marcus watched how this fellow would react. The guy lifted his head, which forced Marcus to tilt his head at uncomfortable level to maintain almost eye contact. By the surface thoughts, he could tell Blaze did not enjoy the thought, but was resigned due to his blindness.
Marcus expected some kind of verbal response, but Blaze simply went for it after being quiet. Blaze would have won if not for the thought that cued before. Marcus moved his hand back behind his head, elbow pointed upward. The hairs on his neck stood up.
Blaze was physically the superior one, but thoughts were quicker. He moved almost early in fraction of a second. Marcus hopped back. "Hoo! So close, Mr. Blaze!? Try again then."
Marcus attempted to slip something in the middle of speech. He squeezed rolled up paper tighter.
Perhaps this would be a chance to test his physical limits too.

Blaze didn't react verbally when he missed the paper, though Marcus' words annoyed him. This wasn't some sideshow at the circus, but he wasn't about to let Marcus get the better of him. His pride wouldn't allow it. He had a feeling Marcus was using this as a chance to test his own limits, and he was happy to oblige in that. That being said, he heard the crinkle of the paper as Marcus was speaking, and he didn't give the vampire a chance to finish speaking as he tried again for the paper.

Octavia nods and gives the flowers to Mari, having kept them safe. She wasn't sure what to think, so she didn't say anything. "You're really pretty, miss." She says trying to compliment their new friend. Octavia smiles as she hands the flowers to Mari.

Marcus wanted to hear something out of him, but this Blaze guy was keeping quiet. It was a bitter sweet he could hear the lycan's surface thoughts, but it might take more to get a reaction though even Marcus was beginning to grow a bit scared. The difference between winning and losing was but fractions of time. In his experience, hesitation would do him in if he was distracted. It took most of Marcus' focus to keep on the move. So, butting in while he spoke was annoying Marcus. Mark turned and narrowly avoided getting caught again standing behind Blaze now after Blaze ran past a bit. "Ooh. Almost," he said, and made some noise again. A bead of sweat rolled down Mark's face. His face though excited looked strained. He was reaching the limits of his powers. He might have think something fast. This was bound to go in Blaze's favor.

Blaze could smell the beginnings of fear creeping into Marcus' scent. So, this vampire was smart enough to know when he was outmatched. Normally, he would have loved to test himself more against one such as this, but this little game was growing tiresome, and he'd had enough. As such, Blaze allowed a slight snarl to color his words as he spoke, not bothering to turn and face Marcus as he did so. "Do not test my patience, boy," he said. "I am not some circus freak to test your mettle against. I do not appreciate being toyed with in such a manner. Either you wish to hire me or you do not. Make your choice."

Make your choice."The lycan finally said something, but it irritated the nightmare called St. Mark. "You finish what we started, or can I not trust you to complete a task?" Marcus asked, and held the rolled newspaper out. "A freak? No doubt, you are something odd, a lycan with no one to lead, but freak...you don't know the meaning, I fink. More...ugly old dog." Marcus smiled creepy stare in his ways. He chuckled. "Come on. Please, just get the paper, please." His phone buzzed distracting him.

 Oh, how he wished he could just pummel this arrogant vampire, but he was better than that. The words about Marcus not trusting him to finish a task, then calling him an ugly old dog, had him letting out an audible growl, and before the vampire could react, Blaze had shifted, his Alpha wolf not taking too kindly to the insult to his person. He wouldn't attack Marcus; he wasn't petty enough to attack someone over a simple insult, but this vamipre would learn why it was unwise to tangle with an Alpha. In his wolf form, on his hind legs, Blaze stood well over seven feet tall, quite a difference to his 6'2" in human form. He whipped around and grabbed the paper from Marcus, his yellow eyes looking at the smaller vampire and daring him to retaliate. "I told you not to test my patience," he growled, his voice deeper, more gutteral in his wolf form.

Mark just stood still watching this person shift. The shadow cast over him by this big wolf man. Despite the thought telling, Mark could not move. He smiled feeling weak. "H-hey! No need to get serious Mr. Blaze. It-it's a little fun, now. Come on, sir." He prattled on, laughing nervously.
"Of course, you got the job."
He looked around and realized they were alone after moving back and around. "So, you can change back annytime."

Blaze snorted a bit at Marcus' words about it all being a little fun, knowing just how intimidated the man was by his wolf form. He held the form for a moment, then shifted back to his human form, his enchanted clothes making it so he was still clothed when he shifted back. "There is a reason that it is unwise to challenge a lycan, especially an Alpha," he said. "Most who do so don't escape harm. I, however, am not so petty as to attack for an insult to my nature. Should someone decide it prudent to go after you, however, that will be another story." This last comment was in response to the words that he was hired. He was as good as his word, and anyone who tried to do any harm to Marcus would deal with Blaze, personally.

Mark stood still, waiting. The moment felt too long for comfort, but the wolf returned to a man. How did those clothes come and go? Marcys wondered. Mark nodded. "So, let me just get you a phone number." He waited a beat. "Do you have a phone?"
