She looked up at Sylv and nodded in agreement. "They do grow like weeds." And it seemed like every time she blinked they were at least an inch taller. Riya happily accepted the hug from Ziya and made sure to give him a good squeeze as well as a kiss to his cheek. "But they get cuter and cuter each time too!" When her nephew said that his sister could likely show her the best she gave Yngvara an expectant look. "Oh? Does someone have a hidden talent?" Iriyana gently prodded at her niece's side in a teasing manner. "Why don't you show me how its done?" With her other hand she motioned toward the targets for the little girl to shoot at.

Yngvara 5
Her eyes practically glowed when her brother started talking and she couldn't resist reaching out to give his hand a loving squeeze. She nodded enthusiastically, her hair bouncing around and barely contained in the headband.
Now that she had her Aunt's full attention Yngvara stood a little straighter and walked closer to the target. She took the time to settle her legs just like mama showed her, perhaps a little too much time, before knocking her arrow. Occasionally she would look back at the trio, her heart fluttering with anxiety. What if she wasn't as good as she said? What if-?
With a squeak Yngvara dropped her arrow and scrambled to pick it back up. All she had to do was tune it all out; pretend it was still just a game. So, when Yngvara knocked her arrow a second time her movements barely faltered and when she released it the arrow hit it's mark. While not dead center it was close enough that any prey beast would have been seriously hurting.

Sylvirah 5Yngvara trained so hard day in and day out that seeing her hold back for once was sweet. Sweeter still was when Ziya gave up his spot for her and the shine it gave create. They really were the best children a mother could have asked for, but kindness would only get them so far. She wouldn't coddle them in this; they both needed to stand on their own sooner rather than later. Seeing her daughters nerves get in the way of a practically good shot was...disheartening to say the least. Stepping away from Ziya, she got a little closer to Iriyana so she could talk in a lower tone. "She gets nervous when she thinks someone's going to correct her. The older hunters in the village are harsher than I am so she thinks if she doesn't get it perfect the first time that she's failed."

Ziya grinned towards his aunt. "I don't know about that, Auntie." He teased playfully, "It's harder to get cute when we're already the cutest." Err handsome? Eh, Ziya didn't care either way as long as he was receiving compliments. The boy squeezed his sisters hand before watching her take aim. For once he didn't say anything when the first shot falter and instead started clapping as soon as the second arrow hit its target. " That was great." Ziya smiled towards his sibling before glancing at his aunt. " What do you think?" He knew his mother had whispered something but he wanted to wait to see whatever insight could be offered about his sibling's shot so that he could learn as well.

She watched with fondness as her nice got all serious and took her time to position her feet. A smile still clearly in place as she was patient. However, when she saw Yngvara get nervous and drop the arrow her smile faltered a little as concern started to creep into her expression. The little girl remedied it though so it seemed there was nothing to worry about. When the shot was fired and landed close enough to the mark that it was for sure a killing blow she brought her hands together in a single clap and grinned. Of course she leaned to the side to listen to Sylvirah when she spoke as well. Older hunters were a pain to deal with. She could remember feeling similarly when she had been younger. Her eyes went toward Ziya as he seemed to have pride in his sister's accomplishment and wanted to hear what she thought. "It was wonderful." Riya brought her attention back to Yngvara so that she could kneel down and speak to her directly. "It was a beautiful shot, Snowball. I love that you took the time to get your footing just right too." Her hand came up so that she could lightly boop Yngvara on the nose. "Don't worry about what other people say though. If you are comfortable and make the shot then that's all that matters."

Sylvirah 6
Standing back was possibly the hardest part of letting her children grow. She'd grown so used to holding things for them when they couldn't manage it that letting them spread their wings came with it's own pains. They needed to learn and from people other than herself so that their skills could vary. Iriyana would put them on the right path, that much she knew, it was just hard to accept that her sprouts would take down prey of their own soon.
Spirits she couldn't wait to take them on their first real hunt. Weeks out in the barren wastelands of Zena, trapped on the side of the mountain with nothing but your wits and a few arrows...gnawing on roots to get by...Other parents would balk, but she knew her children would come out stronger for it.
Maybe she could even convince their father to come. Feed him some line about a hot spring or something. It certainly was a thought...

Yngvara 6 The darker's hybrids cheeks flushed with a bit of embarrassment, but a little smile pulled at her lips all the same. It was hard not to with so much praise coming her way! She'd wanted so badly to do good and it was nice to know that they thought she was okay even if she'd messed up. When her Aunt came over Yngvara held the bow a little tighter, her little body tensing in preparation for criticism that...never really came. When her nose was booped she let out a soft, little laugh and her smile only grew before giving Iriyana a hug. "Thank you," She whispered, and squeezed her good before stepping back. The little archer bounced back toward her brother, much less anxious than she'd been when she took her mark and happily waited for him to take his.

Ziya grinned towards his aunt. "What if we learn to get our footing on the spot?" He asked almost playfully. "Could we learn how to run and shoot at the same time?" The youngling had seen a few of the more experienced hunters showing off like that before, his own father included, where they weaved in and out of the trees to shoot at moving targets for competitions. Though when they shot at each other the arrows weren't sharp or had some sort of powder on them instead so that no one got injured. Ziya's gaze gleamed at the thought as he bounced forward and back again as if reenacting the image.
"What do you think? Could we learn some moves like that if we prove we can hit the target a few times without moving?" He asked with interest as he held up his bow and after a moment took a shot, the arrow glancing the side of the target so that it did hit despite not being the most perfect shot.

She hugged Yngvara back. "Anytime, Snowball." As the little girl pulled away from her she ruffled her hair affectionately. Then she looked up at Sylv with a grin. "You may have taught them everything already. I might not have anything to do." How dare her sister-in-law take all the fun! Riya chuckled and stood back up so that she was no longer crouched down. When she heard Ziya speak she looked toward him and nodded her head. "Running and hitting a target is doable." Iriyana herself was able to do that. She could even hit a target while riding if she had to. Though she wasn't much of a rider. "Hit the target a few times and then we can play a game of running while shooting." Riya affirmed. When Ziya lifted his bow to shoot she watched. What she saw wasn't the best but she didn't criticized him on it. "Nice shot. Try again but this time take a deep breath in before you shoot, it sometimes helps me to keep steady."

Yngvara 7
Run and shoot? She'd seen a few hunters do that back in the village, but it always looked so hard; definitely harder than anything she could pull off right now. Ziya might be able to do it though! He was older so it just seemed plausible.
One day she hoped to be as good as rider as any of the Ild'vann, but that was a long way away. Or so she'd thought before today! If Auntie could teach Ziya something cool then one day he could show her and then she could get a mount of her own!

Sylvirah 7"Oh, you've got plenty to work with." She nodded towards Ziya with her head and smirked. Her kids might have the technical knack for it, but they were already reaching for lofty, flashy goals. Sylvirah wasn't quite sure if that was because of their father's influence or her pride. Worse even, a perfect blend of both.

Ziya grinned with excitement. So maybe he could show off alongside some of those hunters in the near future then! He was eager to learn as much from his aunt and even took her advice without hesitation. "Will do!" He promised as he took his position once more and took a deep breath, his shoulders relaxing before he fired his next shot into the dummy's center. Maybe they really would be able to get to play a game of running soon! Ziya's expression brightened at the thought as he prepared to enjoy every moment of this training visit with their aunt.

She gave a smirk to Sylvirah. Riya could see that Ziya would want to do trick shots. Showing off during competitions and festivals was always fun. And it won the person some prizes in the end as well. So when her nephew took another shot using her advice she grinned from ear to ear. "Good job. Keep that up and I won't have a job anymore." She nodded at him encouragingly before she stepped over to Yngvara and put her hands on the little girl's shoulders. "Alright Snowball, you ready to take another shot? She didn't want her niece to feel left out after all. "I bet you can find your footing faster this time because you already remember how it feels." If she could work with Yngvara on her footing then they could get her there a bit faster each time until it became second nature for her and she wouldn't have to think about it at all.
