Humans were so very creative, and Lysvi nodded her agreement with that concept. The ways they could mix up bits of their language at such a rapid pace to come up with new things was a linguistic marvel to Lysvi. Their world moved at so much of a slower pace -- and she supposed it was long enough for Caedus to notice the changes, but it was hardly long enough to Lysvi. She could tell the youngest Velencyans were coming up with their own new trends as adolescents usually did, but only just-- "Their lives are so much shorter. At first, I thought I would pity them, but," Lysvi laughed, "after just a few weeks, I think it's good for them. Like you said, it's exciting, right? It keeps things so interesting. And they're so innovative. And not that Velencya isn't interesting, but," but there were practical stars in her eyes at the possibilities. Her eyes followed where Caedus gazed, looking up to the clouds above them. Those were so pretty, too, and Lysvi swore part of the wonder of this place was that it was not only alive but it was truly thriving. Weather patterns. Animals. Plants of all sorts. People with their shorter lifespans and their fascinating turns of linguistics. "I think you do, too, especially since we were greeted so enthusiastically." Well, mostly. Lysvi had heard that some of the locals seemed less fond of them, but Yddagen had some positive experiences with knights to speak of -- "I can try to teach you some of their slang, if you like? I think I am understanding it. And maybe you can help correct my pronunciation a bit." Lysvi grinned. "I'd love to keep up my research. I love," she wiggled in her spot, " language."

Caedus did not necessarily agree that shorter lives were good for them, but he did seem to agree that they made the best of them. “I love how passionate you are,” he said; he was less enthusiastic, but it seemed more like he was just used to restraining himself. “I think this world is good for you. I am glad you get to experience it. And all of their languages. I hope you will teach me. I am not the best student, but I will try. And even if I do not learn, I will be in a better mood seeing you being happy. I support your passions. And it could help us understand and improve. I know I can be difficult to speak to. I forget words sometimes. And it takes me a while to talk, sometimes. I would like to learn. I know I do not speak correctly by their standards. But. It is more comfortable for me like this. When I speak slower I can think about my words more carefully.” He smiled again. “So, I hope you will share what you learn. I am eager to learn, too.”

Lysvi was almost overly enthusiastic, and she knew it. There had been plenty of people that were surprised by her almost stark display of emotion in comparison to how reserved many of the Velencians tended to be -- and she did her best in public, formal settings, but it made her skin feel like it itched -- but she had done her best over the years to shrug it off. It made her a good counterbalance to her twin, she thought, who could oft miss the typical subtleties in emotional interactions even if they had yelled them in his face. "Oh, thank you!" but Caedus was outright complimenting her on the passion, and it made Lysvi beam at him in glee. "I will. I'll definitely teach you everything I can. It's fun, right? And we can take it as slowly as you need. Practice might help you get faster with it, over time. Part of the process of becoming fluent." Some of these humans talked very quickly in their languages. She wondered, briefly, if it was a result of their short lives. Maybe they felt like they needed to rush to get more words out because they only had so much time-- "Oh! I can teach you one now, if you'd like. A slang word." She picked up a small stone off the ground, playing with it between her fingers. "The humans have a word for when you, ah, throw something with force. If you're angry with it, or just want it to go away. I believe it is pronounced," she cleared her throat, before proudly declaring, " Yeet." And she, therefore, yeeted the rock.

When she said she could teach him, he nodded and listened intently. He looked focused, as if he expected to be quizzed on this afterwards. “Oh, I see,” he said, and nodded, now quite knowledgeable on the matter. “They have so many different words for so many similar things. I must study the nuance in each of them. Yeet,” he practiced, but he had nothing to throw. He pursed his lips and nodded. “I will remember it. I hope you will teach me more,” he said, admiring how far she managed to yeet the rock.

Lysvi practically beamed like the sun above when Caedus took her lesson so well to heart. If only other human slang words were also as easy to demonstrate as yeeting things were. It was much harder to explain being a goat. This was also associated with a picture on their phone of a goat, but a goat was also an animal, too... "They do. I don't think Velencian has such variance in their words." She pursed her lips. "Not multiple words for the variance in force of throwing things, anyway. Maybe it has to do with how creative humans are." They really did seem to have new interesting words every day-- When their king expressed hope that she'd teach him more, Lysvi's practically bounced in her glee. "Yes! I love sharing language knowledge with people. It'd be an honor. I could even teach you a few more right now if you want!" And if Caedus let her, Lysvi would go on to explain a few more of the words she had come across.

Caedus considered for a moment and then nodded. “I have time. We can sit and stay a while. I am behind on my Velencian lessons, I think, so if anyone asks you must tell them I am a diligent student. Though, I have doubts that Commodore Lyndin will believe you.” He seemed a little amused; a smile tugged at the corners of his lips even as he tried to restrain it. “I cannot say that Earth is easier to learn, but it is a bit more exciting. If you want to teach me your favorite words, I will listen. You look very happy talking about language, it makes me excited to learn. I will do my best to make you proud,” he said, and seemed content to settle in for a long lesson. He would be a good student. At least, for as long as he could manage it.
