Pyper perked up at the mention of star charts. Their was a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes. Could a reading help her decide on things like fashion and what color to wear for good luck on certain days? Or maybe he meant something else entirely. She wasn't sure if fortunes and things fell into that category. None the less, she would love to have a reading anyway. Her tail swayed back and forth as she watched the one called Duncas. She was about to speak, but before she could say anything, she smelled something good and her tummy rumbled. She still never had that snack she had considered eating earlier. Embarrassed, she covered her face with a paw. "Erm..." She tried her best not to stare too intensely at the small taiyaki another cat, Itsuki had brought. Pyper inched closer to the food, while her ears flicked in various directions, picking up the conversations around her as she tried her best to pay attention to who was who and what was going on.

Etoile showed up fashionably late, because of course she would. When it came to priorities, tv tended to come first before anything else, and the Watchful Guardian would not come between her and her favorite shows. It was only after she and Alise managed to figure out how to use the tv's dvr feature that she reluctantly left home, and by reluctantly, it was very reluctantly, because tv! And sweets! Couldn't the Watchful Guardian at least have had them meet up at a candy store or bakery? Something much better than some dark alleyway? It was quite possible Etoile was going to starve, depending on how long this meeting went, after all.
By the time she arrived, she joined the group of cats already gathered as if she had been there all along, feeling no shame or remorse for her actions. Making friends was great, yes, but... but... candy. And tv!

Sing’s head pivoted to greet Arianna with a small bob of her head and a small smile. “Arianna…and ah! Etta…” She inclined her head as much towards the palate as the silver tabby that crept free, squinting and tipping her head before swiveling to look almost directly -over- Itsuki… then almost focusing on him as she jutted her head forward, sniffed. “No… you haven’t missed anything just yet. We were only starting introductions.

One by one they gathered, each arriving in their own time, each with their own unique style. Twelve Guardians in total by the time the last one arrived -- a fitting number, all things considered, with himself making the thirteenth. He gave them a bit of time to greet one another, an extra minute or two to get settled before drawing attention to himself. When that time had passed he leapt up onto the rail, padding along it before crossing to the lid of the nearest trash can in a graceful leap and continuing on from there to an overturned crate that would serve easily as a pedestal to put him aloft, but still close enough to the others that he wouldn't have to shout. "Greetings and salutations, one and all. Normally, this is where I would remind those of you who complained about the time, location or last minute notice in regards to our meeting that this is the sort of thing that you can expect from your charges; a last minute call to a location that might not be ideal on a night where you might have preferred to do absolutely anything else." He made a grand gesture with his paw, bright blue eyes rolling skyward for a second before he was addressing those before him once more. "Instead I would like to thank each and every one of you for joining me this evening. I am aware that this is hardly ideal and in the future I will try to keep some comforts in mind... And since you were all active participants in the Group Chat I will refrain from insisting that we all go around the alley and make introductions." His tail twitched, ears flickering around to listen for a moment as he paused before continuing on. "As promised, I did not bring any means to share a Power Point presentation with you this evening, so we are going to try and cover things quickly and then open the floor up so that you can ask questions. For now, though, I am going to start out with a question of my own. Who here has taken the time to review the manual for Awakening a Sailor Soldier? And, if you have, do you feel confidant that this is a task you would be comfortable performing on your own? Honest answers only -- we won't be judging anyone for those tonight." This spoiler is just quotes....

Sumi had waved off Sing's offer to pick him up and had instead stayed on the ground under her perch. It was easier down there with his sort legs and it meant that, if he got the idea to wander, he could do so without having to jump or scramble off something. Most of that idea was squashed when the Guardian showed up and he had to take a moment to deal with the surprise that he hadn't actually brought a powerpoint presentation.
That wasn't something he'd have put past the other Mauvian.
"I read over it a few times!" Sumi raised a paw as he spoke, grinning as he wiggled it slightly. "Pretty sure no one, well maybe Grandma, is gonna be as grumpy as the Senshi I already have so I can handle it." It wasn't like the small cat ever had issues making friends or talking to anyone and he liked being able to help Arsinoe. Having a few more charges would be fun and meant more people he could pester via text when he got some weird idea.

"That sounds lovely, Duncas, I would very much enjoy that." Etta managed to get the words in quickly, followed by a lean as she bumped her shoulder against Arianna's in silent greeting, and then the Mau of the Hour made his presence known. WG seemed well-practiced in theatrics; something she supposed one could expect from however long it was that he had spent roaming alone before he'd started to wake the rest of them. He also seemed to be keeping an ear out for something, judging by the flick of his ear and the way he'd paused -- it wasn't enough to set her on edge, but it was enough to ensure that she sat a little straighter, her own ears listening to the night as much as she was listening to him. Etta smiled when Sumi piped up first, glad that someone had broken the ice, at the very least. She followed suit, piping up afterwards. "I'll be honest in saying that I skimmed it, WG. I would be happy to set up study sessions with others, though, if there's going to be a quiz later." Her tail flicked, a bit of mischief flitting through her gaze before it was all politeness and manners again. "I'm assuming it's important that we at least memorize the basics; the things that should start feeling as natural as riding a bike once we're used to them?" Not that they could ride bikes, but she'd heard the phrase often enough to mean something that came naturally and she was at a loss for another way to put it. "Everything else -- state of affairs, utilizing a communication device, those are things we should be able to use reference materials on, right? Open book test?"

Duncas smiled and started to reply to Etta, but before he could even get a greeting to Arianna out, WG finally made his presence known. He'd have time enough, he was sure, to natter on about both asstronomy and astrology with the other cats. What WG was discussing was the most important thing right now. (Although he was just a tiny bit disappointed there was no Powerpoint presentation after all...) "I have read it thoroughly," he stated with an affirmative nod, raising a paw. "The instructions seem crystal clear to me. I feel as though I could handle it on my own, although I might want to go through the process once with a more knowledgable cat to make sure I don't overlook anything. I currently have no charges of my own, so I don't have the experience that some others might..." Looking around at the other cats, he put his paw down, wondering how many of them had already awakened a Senshi.

Sitting beside Grandma Sing, Itsuki raised a paw.
"I've read the manual, Whoo-Gee-san!" he exclaimed, eyes twinkling. "Of course, I haven't, ah, officially awakened anyone yet. But I'm honto ready! ....I think!"
Itsuki knew well that others present were much more experienced than himself, but he had an internship for a reason. They all had to start somewhere and poor WG had his paws full wrangling so many Guardians with varying levels of experience.

Arianna found herself casting their host a rather annoyed look as he interrupted Duncas before he could answer her question. Still, she mentally noted the name and face so she could be sure to inquire about it another time. Star charts. The idea was interesting, to say the least, and she wanted to know more. But as WG threw a bit of shade at how annoyed they had all been to be summoned out without a second thought, she found her annoyance shifting over to a rather bemused smile. That was one thing about their 'fearless leader' that Arianna had always enjoyed: the cat didn't take BS from anyone, especially not one of their own. So she settled in and listened, glancing around the group once more as she worked to figure out who she knew and who she did not. Sing she had found a welcoming paw with and even now the senior guardian was a welcome and a friend. They really did need to go sit in the park again soon. Sumi, while she knew him, not as well as or as familiar as Sing. Her eyes landed on Shurelia, at least that was who she figured the cat was. While she had not had the pleasure, Etta had told her about the other Mauvian who had awoken around the same time they both had. One by one she went through the others, younger, freshly awaken in some cases as she took guesses of who they were based on actions and words. When the one she guessed to be Itsuki spoke, it made her ears perk up. So much energy! So she sighed, well, as much as a cat could, and turned back around to look at their host. Raising a paw, she decided to speak instead of hold all questions to the end. "Read, reviewed, question." Arianna's voice was even while she lowered her paw, looking oddly studious. "Well, one suggestion and a question. You provided us with a very detailed manual of how to awaken a future senshi as well as what to cover and what to possibly expect. It is very clear that you have a great experience with this and I know we are all grateful for this wealth of knowledge. My suggestion is that in dealing with humans, we may want to consider calling upon one to assist with the waterfall of information we must bestow upon a fledgling senshi. Hearing it from another human may assist in acceptance should the idea of a talking cat" those words came out with an almost bitter distastes, "scare them still." "Which does lead to my question. We know how to awaken them once we find them but that's just ist. How do we know who to awaken?"

Pyper’s attention was now focused on their leader. WG had posed a question to them. Had she reviewed the manual on Awakening? “Ah yes! I’ve read it. Quite a few times actually.~” she replied happily. “Oh, but I haven’t had any first hand experience awakening a senshi yet,” she added. “I think it’s something I would feel comfortable doing. The way you made it sound, it’d be something we’d get used to. But if someone wanted to help me with my first one, I wouldn’t be opposed to it.” She glanced over as a test was mentioned, and she tensed a bit. “A test?” she questioned, wrinkling her nose. She was never fond of being put on the spot with tests. But oh what the heck. If it was necessary, she’d go along with it. “Hmm well ok. If that’s how it’s done.” She smiled brightly at the others. Oh, she hadn’t really introduced herself yet had she? She quickly amended that with, “The name’s Pyper, and I look forward to working with all of you. If anyone wants a study buddy or even just a friend to talk to, I’m game.” She turned to Arianna then, who had asked a very good question; one Pyper hadn’t even considered. How would they even know who to awaken? This was a very good point. She was glad there were others here who knew just what to ask.

Sumi and Duncas had answered and whatever mental notes he might have made to follow up with either of the two Mau was almost instantly struck from his mind and he turned to stare at Itsuki. Whoo-Gee-san? No, that most definitely was not going to work, not at all... The Guardian brought a paw up to rub his face, shaking his head before muttering to himself. "It's Ra." Then he spoke a little bit louder, drawing in a breath that he released slowly with his words as his paw dropped back down to the asphalt. "My name is Ra. For the love of the stars and by the light of the moon, please just call me Ra." He was so very, very grateful for the distraction Arianna's question provided. His overall countenance shifted back to that of someone who was entirely delighted that they had an answer that could easily be shared with the rest of the class. "You aren't wrong. It may be beneficial to have another Sailor Soldier with you, but there can also be risks involved in that -- we'll get into why it's not the best idea to have too many Sailor Soldiers in one place together in just a little bit, I'd rather not get too far off track, but..." He paused to ponder his next words, gaze drifting thoughtfully to the sky once more. "Let's loop back. You asked how we know who to awaken. The easy answer to that question is that you will know because even if they aren't willing to listen they will be able to hear what you're saying. In short, if someone looks human and can understand that you are talking and now meowing, wailing or otherwise caterwauling they are either already awake -- either as one of our own or as one of our enemies -- or they are ready to be awakened. "You may get a sense about someone, and it is difficult to describe in words other than that, observe them for a time. Confirm that what you're feeling is correct, and not something mundane like indigestion, and try to catch them when no one else is around. Speak to them and you'll know. You will feel a brief connection with them in which you will realize that you know their name and what they are the guardian of. It's... Similar to remembering something that you've forgotten without knowing how you knew it in the first place." He wished he could put better words to it, beyond telling these Mau who were relying on him for information that it would make more sense the first time they felt it themselves. "I hope that answers your question, Arianna... And Duncas, you mentioned not having any charges. Currently there are, I believe, thirty Sailor Soldiers from around the world who have made their way to Mayet if they have not called this city their home all along. I have been keeping tabs on many of them, but they need someone who can be there for them more often. They need someone who can be here... Which is where I am hoping the lot of you will be able to step in." If any of the others had at least half the enthusiasm that Pyper and Itsuki seemed to they'd be in good shape.

Shurelia was not fully cleaned and the meeting was starting, and this was all highly irregular. Stressed, she instinctively lifted her paw to hit her sister- who wasn't even here. She was back at home, probably chasing kibbles across the floor or screaming for cronches, in air conditioning, or snuggled up under a blanket, or- if Mir was in her hammock, she'd bop her twice!
Mir was probably in her hammock, and the indignation at the imagined slight nearly brought up a hairball, the long-furred Princess letting out a series of nigh-asthmatic wheezes before she sneezed instead- five sneezes in a row, precisely, eyes crossing with some distress.
Smacking her lips, she turned her attention to WG, and the others. "No thank you, Etta," Reli sniffed, wriggling deeper into her hidey hold, "I'm fine right here." Where she could see danger coming, and hide. Or flee. Or fight. Or all of the above. But most importantly, she could silently observe- and that was what she did, head swivelling from Mauvian to Mauvian, her hairy little ears and long whiskers twitching nervously with every noise.
"This is all very unsafe," she muttered at Ra, and lifted a back foot to carefully double-check the state of her claws. She needed to scratch them some more- one of her claws was looking a little thick, and she didn't want to have to ask for help. With her mouth full of foot, of course, she could hardly be expected to answer his question about if she had read that Awakening manual. She had, of course. Just in case there were any safety precautions contained therein. (Questions, he asked? Oh, she had questions alright, namely about what would happen if she got injured on the job!)
Thirty senshi was a larger number than Shurelia expected, and her ears perked up with interest. And then flattened, realizing what that actually meant.
She would have to go outside more often.
I need to make sure to have an extra flea collar. Ugh; she hated collars. But she hated fleas more. If she got fleas, she would have to go to a groomer; that would mean a car ride.

Head tilting this way and that as she listened to everyone talking, Cuan only wishing she had a way to take notes. Some of what the others talked about was fascinating. And if she puffed up her chest just a smidgen with the pride of having a senshi partner when some didn't... well. Who could really blame her?
"No questions here," she murmured. "And as you've said, sir, having a senshi around can be beneficial. But neither she or I have found anything unusual the times we've one out together."
The tiny lykoi's voice trailed for a moment as she counted the cats sitting in the alley and considered that at least thirty senshi were running around.
"By my calculations, each of us should have two or three senshi to manage. I already have Saiph, so does that mean you'll be making assignments?"
If there were others she needed to keep an eye on, she needed to know now.

Sumi listened with what appeared to be his full attention but part of his head was already running off somewhere as the others around him chatted and the Guardian answered questions. Thirty senshi seemed like a lot more than he had expected but at least that wasn't itoo many. Between the group of them that should be manageable enough and since they'd gotten their communicators hooked up to the Senshi's network it wasn't like they couldn't keep dibs on them without having to physically do it. Plus he had a feeling that Arsinoe would kept him keep tabs on whoever he was put in charge of so he had an advantage there.
The small cat couldn't help snicker at the Guardians description of how awakening a senshi felt. He used that exact phrasing to explain most of the things he did.
"If anyone needs help or wants assistance on their first awakening I can do it! I just have the one Senshi but I'm pretty familiar with the feeling of how you know and I'm pretty sure my Senshi will also offer to help out the newbies too." He paused for a moment, ears flicking slightly before his nose scrunched. "If we need more Senshi ... we're gonna need more Senshi right? That's why we're here so ... oh ..." That meant those ones with the very-bad-not-at-all-nice aura's were growing in number too.

Sing’s ears swiveled for a moment, then flattened as she took in all the things she could hear. Particularly the sound of… Well. She patted Itsuki for a moment, paw landing gently but vaguely between his head and shoulders. “Excuse me just for a moment Itsuki.” She murmured and then hopped down off her perch, landing somewhat less gracefully than she would have liked, knees thumping against the ground as she … slightly, miscalculated the distance, and then marching towards Shureliia, though she addressed the others as she moved. “I have one I’m keeping an eye on, I’ll awaken her soon I think. I just wanted to be sure of her before I spoke.” She paused then now close to Shurellia, squinting before she hesitantly reached forward with her front paws and gently… touched the other Mau’s cheeks, leaning in closer, still squinting like she had to be sure of something. “My dear… “ She said earnestly. “You’re Mauvian, you know where your poor feet have been, there is absolutely no need to… to use your MOUTH. We have baths, and perfectly good humans to draw them for us.” She loosed one paw from Shurellia’s cheek and batted at the ‘offending’ paw. “Goodness, the things you might have stepped in!”
