Ami beamed with pride as she handed the net over to Lua. "Sounds like a plan!" She agreed with a smile to both girls before glancing back towards Mina. "So now to just chase the lono once Lua gets into place..." She mused thoughtfully, her excitement rising as they proceeded with this plan. If they could catch this lono then it would be simple enough to catch others!

Once Lua had her net she made a wide swim over toward the coral; presumably to throw their 'prey' off track. Mina would have thought it was crazy if she hadn't planned on doing it herself!
When she saw that the girl had settled in and held her hand up she turned toward Ami. "Let's do this!" Now that she had free reign to really annoy the lono, Mina got as close to the little thing as possible and kept darting closer before swimming off just to bug it. Everytime she got closer it would move just that much further away.

"Okay!" Ami nodded as she followed the others' leads and made a wide circle around the lono. Her breath caught whenever she saw it darted away towards Mina but her friend was so quick that it couldn't escape! No pressure I can do this! The little kawena kept repeating to herself before letting out a squeak whenever the lono came charging towards her. Thankfully this time it missed pinching her toes as she shoo'd it back towards Lua. Not this time! Ami grinned triumphantly as she finally confused the lono so much, its movements shaky as it weaved back and forth between the two girls, and then Lua swept forward to claim their prize with the net.
"We did it!" Ami let out a laugh as she watched the lono disappear into the makeshift net.

As soon as the lono got swept up into the net Mina tossed her hands up with a squeal. "We did it, we did it, we did it~" As Lua came up to the two Mina tossed her hands around both of their shoulders and pulled her friends closer. "I bet with the three of us we could catch a hundred lono."
"But let's maybe just stick to this one?" Lua laughed. "It's already mad enough."
And sure enough, when Mina looked into the net, the little lono's claws were ready for a good pinching.
"Hey, Ami, did you know lono are supposed to be good luck? So it's a good sign that we were all able to catch it today!"

"Agreed." Ami let out a soft chuckle. "I think anymore will be pushing our good luck." The kawena's cheeks were flushed though from the exhilaration of the chase and from feeling shy because of the sudden closeness of the group. She really would have to get accustomed to being more affectionate like Mina one day. Still, she couldn't help but to grin as she studied their prize. Her very first lono catch! Ami felt her spirits lifting at the very thought. "Then hopefully that means the rest of our day will be amazing!" She chimed in as she smiled towards both of the hapuna. Unfortunately she would have to leave soon enough because her mother would be looking for her but at least she had gotten to spend a little bit of time with Mina today in her home sea!
