In theory, of course. In actuality, his sister disappearing had made a good excuse for him to avoid powering up. And yet, here they were--

But he liked Sylvite.

They could make this work.

Just two lieutenants? Well, that didn't sound too bad. A small team, if anything -- oh, and another super. Like him. Wondered how he had been recruited. Wondered if he had been involved with this s**t just as long as he had, or if he was another more recent recruit who was probably destined to out promote him--

Wait, she was assigning him someone. Ah. "So Gismodine?"

Okay, perhaps Fulgurite was a bit nosy, and he did peer over to look at what she noted down.

"Yeah, sure, I can give that a shot." Maybe Gismodine could take care of some of Fulgurite's quota for him-- Okay, that was rude. Probably. He probably shouldn't shove that s**t onto anyone else-- "Might be good to have someone else to patrol with. At the very least, might keep some people away from him, right?" A lieutenant and a super together were a bigger threat than just a lieutenant...

Sylvite nodded and peeled up the sticky note that had Gismodine's name on it, handing it over to Fulgurite so he'd know how to spell it if he wanted to try sending a message on the tablet or something. "Don't worry," she said. "I'm not gonna officially assign you a subordinate right off the bat or anything, but, like, I'm gonna recommend that you guys patrol together. See if you click."

Obviously, for safety, too. She didn't want anyone who she was responsible for to end up getting hurt. That was why teamwork was so important. It kept people from getting killed. Luckily, nobody had gotten killed yet, but Sylvite didn't wanna mess around with there being a first time.

She wasn't too worried about it with Fulgurite, though. The dude seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, even if he'd been out of commission for awhile when he was worried about his sister. Sylvite leaned back, looking him over one last time.

"I think that's pretty much my expectations and everything. Be ready for weekly meetings. Pick a branch. Yeah." She smiled a little bit, then added, "Oh, do you have any questions for me?"

That was how you were supposed to end meetings like this, she was pretty sure.

Probably good to have some kind of official note of how to spell Gismodine. He nodded in thanks for the sticky note, pulling it back toward himself and observing it for a moment before tucking it away, making a note to get in touch with him later. At least he wasn't an official subordinate, though that might have made it easier to make him do his quota--

"Alright, cool. I'll get in touch with him." If he worked with Sylvite, if anything, the guy couldn't be that bad--

Not the ******** who recruited him, at least.

The ending question reminded him of being in some kind of performance review or an interview, and he couldn't help his muffled snort of a laugh. Fulgurite shook his head after that, offering a grin that seemed like it was an appropriate response. "No, think I got it. Ponder on branches. Contact Gismo." Seemed like a good nickname. "Be back next week. And I mean, Negaverse has changed but not that much."

He didn't exactly have much to review that would have been a mystery to him.

"Guess I'll get going then." He got up, stretching his arms up above his head until his shoulders strained, and then relaxed. "Looking forward to working with you though, yeah?"

He wasn't sure if he had ever liked any of the generals he had dealt with before, so maybe liking Sylvite would make the Negaverse feel less ... Negaverse.

Okay. No questions. That was fine.

Sylvite usually had plenty of things to ask, but when she was put on the spot like that, it all went out the window. He was right, though, and that the Negaverse wasn't that complicated, and she was definintly gonna be doing everything she could for him to make it easier and not harder.

"Yeah, I look forward to working with you, too," she said. "See you next week, 'kay?"

Then she nodded and turned back to her pile of notes, the closest thing he was getting to a dismissal.
