The leaf earthing, Arin, nodded in agreement. “Once we clear up there’s a village nearby where you can rest up and regroup before coming this way again.” As the other two started following after the leaf earthling, Kyril found herself stopping. “No.” She replied before glancing back at the wind earthling. “I want to stay and try to help.” She admitted finally as she set her satchel back on the ground. The gifts could wait because fighting would be more helpful than anything else right now. Or at least she could do other things. Her gaze flickered towards the fires still raging around some of the downed wagons. Those goods were forfeit but it wouldn’t do anyone good if the fire continued spreading. “I can try to call rain.” She finally offered as she glanced back to the archer. [Kyril 8]

Arin hesitated as he noticed the hybrid wasn’t falling them. “Jhin?” He asked softly as if waiting for confirmation. Jhin let out a sigh before nodding. He wasn’t about to force anyone to do anything, there simply wasn’t enough time to argue. “Go ahead, Arin. I’ll handle things.” He finally responded before glancing back towards the woman as the others started leaving the area. It was still dangerous and while he didn’t like the idea of having to watch over someone else at least she seemed capable enough. Water could definitely be helpful in putting out the fires as well since most of those that had appeared to fight were physical fighters and not mages. “That’s your final chance to leave.” He stated softly before walking around the wagons with a frown. Anyone who was knocked out would be tied up and others that were already dead would be ignored for now. Before Jhin would have hesitated to see someone struggling, even a bandit, but after his recent losses the man simply felt numb about it all. [Jhin 9]

“It’s fine.” Replied Kyril as she watched the others leaving, “I would only slow them down at the moment.” She admitted as she hobbled forward, the pain a bit more than expected and causing her to stumble forward towards the archer. A flush decorated her cheeks as she realized she had reached out and caught his arm for support. “My apologies.” She managed before slowly letting go and trying to stand on her own once more. At least she could cast magic without having to worry about walking and it was easier to stay closer instead of risking those trying to flee the scene. Perhaps it was a bit selfish on her part as well, but she didn’t want to let go of the satchel that she scooped up and tried to carry as she hobbled forward. [Kyril 9]

“You!” Jhin swallowed his curse as he helped to support the woman. “I suppose…that makes sense.” He admitted softly. It would be easier for him to just guard her while the rest could take care of themselves without worrying over someone who would be slowing them down. “Go ahead and cast your magic so that we can inspect your injuries.” He offered as he took the satchel from her surprised hands and without hesitation scooped her up in his arms. At least she was fairly light, but Jhin couldn’t help wincing as he noticed the darkening spot on her ankle. That was definitely a sign of at least a sprain, and he couldn’t help noticing how she even flinched when he touched her back. “You don’t need to be standing to cast magic, correct? I’ll make things faster by carrying you and getting you to a healer when we’re finished here.” He didn’t know why he was putting himself forward so much for one woman, but at the same time it was his duty to protect anyone who entered this forest. She had just seemed so delicate at first but then showed so much courage and strength that he felt it would be a shame to simply leave her alone here. She would need a medic and Jhin didn’t want to waste time waiting for her to hobble after him so he would carry her. Once this situation was taken care of then he would take her to the ranger’s encampment since that was closer so that they could both be checked out alongside the others who had been injured today. He already noted that several rangers had left with the merchants to take them into town, their injuries far less severe and easier to manage on the trip back into Sauti. [Jhin 10]

“I can walk…. mostly.” Muttered Kyril as a deep flush spread across her cheeks. Still, the pain from her back with every jostled step from Jhin made her whole body remember exactly how injured she was and she found her protests stopping. She would need all of her focus to summon water to help stop the fires after all. Then she would have to just see what the rangers planned to do afterwards, including a trip to a healer apparently. Would he take her into town when it was at least an hour’s walk from here? Kyril pursed her lips before just focusing back on the task at hand. Thankfully the metal bands around her upper arms resembling delicate vines hadn’t been broken during the fight and the runes carefully nestled inside like decorative pieces started to glow whenever she began calling upon her magic. It was a warm feeling that helped keep her alert until finally the fires were exhausted, and she fell back against the man’s shoulder with a sigh, her eyes fluttering closed as Kyril finally gave in to the pain and passed out.
