Katori nodded as she counted the roati as well. “That is all of them.” She admitted with a sigh of relief. She just hoped that her mother didn’t find any other damages whenever she inspected the rest of the fencing. “How about that fence?” She peered over Zyphire’s shoulder to look at it, a small frown crossing her lips.

“Won’t take but a few. Could you get me some tools? I can probably fix the whole thing if you sit here and keep the roati from escaping again.” Zyphire admitted with a small nod. “Yeah, just give me a couple of planks too and I’ll fix this up.” He was the handyman and cook of the manor after all. Not that the others didn’t do their parts, but mages always cheated. That much he always knew, especially when he saw Katori carrying a lot more than humanly possible back and forth in one trip. “Show off.”

“I’m a brute.” Admitted Katori with a small shrug. “I don’t know if it’s really showing off since it’s all I can do.” She handed Zyphire the tools and wood before plopping down to block the roati from trying anything else. The hybrid glanced down at her hands with a sigh. Everyone else in the family could do complicated spells and fancy things but she was just about destroying things. Maybe one day. Practice makes perfect, right?

“You’re also good at eating!” Offered Zyphire with a grin before holding his hands up in surrender. “In all honesty you’re a lot more help than you think. Not everyone can handle animals like you do and just cause you don’t study tomes or do complicated rituals like your father or uncle it doesn’t mean you aren’t magical in your own sense.” Zyphire smiled at Katori before turning back to work on the fence. His best skills were either working around the home or killing things, so honestly? Zyphire fully believed that everyone had their own unique set of skills and he was happy that he wasn’t the only non-magician in the place. At least with Katori he knew that they could have fun conversations without worrying about the finer details, longer monologues from Eresin or the mischievous tidbits that Kian would make them endure.

“Thanks, Zyphire.” Katori smiled in return before moving over so that she could help hand him over pieces or break more of the pieces as necessary. “Maybe I’ll even try cooking so I can be more useful too.” She offered before quickly shaking her head at the memory of her last attempt. “Or maybe not.” A laugh escaped her lips at Zyphire’s grin before she focused back on just helping him fix the fencing so that they could both continue on with their day.
