“Smuggler, pirate; at the end of the day it’s just a word you choose. I prefer privateer.” The scarred matorian curled her lip in a grin before giving a sharp whistle. Nearly a breath later the man with the dagger was bringing the hilt of it down on Sariza’s head while a hoard of men descended upon her. Xenia could only watch in horror as the mob started beating and punching the guard. She did her best to defend herself but-
“Indra, stop-” Xenia tried to step forward, her eyes drifting between the two women when the arm around her waist clenched.
“What, feeling sympathetic now? Or do you just like Obans more than Matorians?”
“...Just knock her out already so we can leave.” Xenia knew that look. If she said anything else then it would be bad for all of them and she...just wasn’t brave enough to fight back.

Someone’s rough hand yanked Sariza’s head up by the dread, causing her to hiss in pain ,but little more. Her eyes were filled with absolute hatred. “Go ahead and do it, Indra. With a face like yours I’ll be able to recall every detail clearly whenever I give my report to the city Captain and he’ll spread your image all across Oba. There won’t be a hole for you to crawl into that won’t have a guard waiting to take you in.” She looked at the near nervous way the yaeli stood beside the matorian and hated her all the more for it.

Xenia saw the man holding onto the Oban give her head a rough shake. “She’s right, Indra. If we leave her alive-”
“No! Please! Don’t! We can just take her with us. Give her some of the red flower; she’ll be so out of her mind that she’ll forget all about us.” Xenia was all out clinging onto Indra at that point. She didn't care if it made her look weaker in front of these people; they already knew she was. Still, if it saved a life, then it was worth it, right? She knew what she was doing was illegal and she didn't want to be caught, sure, but Xenia had never intended on KILLING the woman!
The red flower was a desperate, last ditch effort that might be just as bad as outright murder, but...

Sariza’s eyes widened. “You wouldn’t dare.” Was that a little squeak to her voice? She’d heard nothing, but HORROR stories surrounding the tea of the red flower. It was a drug that many had used to subdue their slaves throughout the years and it didn’t take much to completely alter their mental states. Continued exposure could erase memories, change their thoughts and sometimes there really was no going back.
If they gave it to her would she ever be able to go back home? I have to run; now! Sariza’s struggles doubled in effort despite her wounded state. She absolutely could NOT be taken!

“My my Xenia, when did you become such a little devil?” Indra dipped her head to place a chaste little kiss to the smaller yaeli’s cheek. If she noticed the way Xenia turned her face the other way she didn’t seem to care. When she straightened the matorian snapped her fingers. “Well, you heard the lady, get it ready.”
Seeing the way the Oban struggled and screamed would haunt Xenia’s sleep for weeks. The moment they hit the side of her head she was sure they’d killed her, but it was only when she saw the way the other woman’s chest fell with breath that she herself could breathe.
“I’m sorry....” She murmured. Hopefully her bargain would pay off, but in all honestly, even Xenia couldn't tell the future at this point.
