Brielle nodded. "Yes. It turns out I remember how to speak French?" It had been a surprise, considering how much else she'd lost, but she supposed it counted as muscle memory or something the same way that speaking English did.
"I've never tried teaching it before, but I can try to tell you a few things?"
How could she say no when Olivia was sending her sweet pictures of
dancing swans?
"For example,
adieu is 'goodbye', but
au revoir means 'see you later.'" Her smile was soft. "So let's say
au revoir, all right? I really do want to see you again."
In the end it didn't matter if it was for language lessons or shoe shopping or dancing. Just being around a friend always made her chest grow warmer.
