Pynar couldn't help but start blushing again. "I can't help but admit that I was fairly startled in the first moments of our meeting. I uh.....I can be somewhat of a homebody sometimes...especially without my siblings around. So I can honestly say I've never met a yaeli with the...." Py paused for a moment, his blush deepening before he pointed to his eyes. "With the uh glow." He laughed nervously before trying to move on, not realizing he never fully answered her question. "You're right, it likely would have been very different just a few years back. Even at my birth, because of being an Oban/Matori hybrid, people looked at us strangely. The taboo is still there sometimes but for the most part people have gotten over things. As they do with everything in time."

Kitya laughed at Pynar's confession. "It's alright!" She found herself admitting after a moment, her hands reaching up to frame her face. "I'm glad to know that I have a glow about me." She teased playfully before shaking her head. "I suppose that the same can be said of everyone else. It's really strange to see eyes that don't glow. If I wasn't accustomed to my father having no glow in his own eyes I would say that it was impossible to imagine." Though didn't that mean she could lose her glow as well from staying overseas for too long? Surprisingly Kitya didn't seem to find that she minded as much. It was proof that she was growing up and moving on with a life that didn't tie her down to Yael or the past protectiveness of her family that had felt so stiffing at times.
"Ah, so that's why you look slightly different from others." Kitya pointed towards his gemstones and smiled. "I was curious. It seems subtle but that does explain some things. It does seem that way, doesn't it? Else I suppose we wouldn't be sitting in a tavern like this on a date." She added with a small wink towards Pynar. "I could only imagine the hysterics our appearance would have caused in public a few decades ago." It was crazy how quickly the world seemed to be changing around them. Even the Aishans were opening up across the islands from what Kitya had heard though she still found it extremely hard to trust them.

This whole conversation was not helping the blush to leave his face. He felt awfully warm with embarrassment which only increased when the mention of being on a date came up. Pynar had to work hard to not spit out the sip of water h ea had just taken and to not choke for that matter as well. He decided to try and ignore that little comment and move on. "It seems crazy sometimes how fast things can change and yet how other things almost refuse to change in the most stubborn of ways." It was something that was interesting and infuriating at the same time. "Ah!" He exclaimed as he started to be able to smell the spiced fish coming their way. "Looks like our food is coming!" All embarrassment was forgotten in the face of food. He looked to Kitya as their food was set down, wanting to judge her reaction. [Pynar 9]

How adorable. Kitya wanted to tease the hybrid more but was afraid of chasing him away. He already looked like he could melt on the spot! All she could do was nod at his words, her hand reaching up to tuck a stray curl out of the way whenever food arrived and she started on her meal. "It smells good." Mused Kitya with a small grin before digging into her plate and letting out a happy moan. "Definitely worth it." She commented happily before focusing on just enjoying her meal and the pleasant company for the evening.

Satisfied that Kitya was enjoying the food and allowing her to begin eating first, he started digging into his own. It really always was amazing whenever he was able to stop here. He went ahead and asked for some more bread and some of that yummy butter spread they had the last time. It was kind of sweet so maybe they could have it for dessert after their fish! He was sort of a sucker for bread anyhow so there was no doubt it would get eaten by some one. "Good. I'm glad you like it." Was all he said simply between his own bites of food. They sat in companionable silence as they each enjoyed their meals and Pynar had to admit it felt kind of nice to share a meal with someone who wasn't family.
