Rob nodded in affirmation as he kept Brielle from collapsing to the pavement. "Smart girl. Now, this might hurt a bit, because of where you were stabbed. I'm gonna try not to cause you any pain, though, okay?" With that, he very very cautiously wrapped his left arm around her shoulders, avoiding the stab wound as much as possible, then he leaned over and scooped her up with his right arm, adjusting her with a few small motions. He was definitely getting covered in blood, even though her bleeding had slowed considerably. Oh well, a t-shirt was a small price to pay to help keep a fellow senshi from dying. "Right then, off we go," he murmured. Holding her as steadily as he could, he began to take the most direct route to the hospital, several blocks away but really too close to bother calling an ambulance. He'd get her there himself. "I'm gonna tell the ER staff that you were assaulted by a rando on the street, okay? Just so we have our story straight…"

It hurt, but at least Brielle was prepared for it this time. Her teeth dug into her lower lip, and she did her best to take breaths in and out of her nose. She did not flinch when she was lifted. "Thank you," she said one more time, and then went quiet for a moment as she did her best to keep the world from spinning. She rested her head against Rob's shoulder in the end, eyes fluttering shut. "She might come after you, you know," she continued once she could. After risking his own safety to help her, Rob deserved what information she could manage. "Or send someone else. That's more likely. She's not so into fighting, usually, she's just," She shrugged slightly with the shoulder that hadn't been stabbed. "Not very happy I purified. Probably not very happy I have friends who aren't her."

"She can come after me all she likes," Rob snarled. "Or send whoever, I don't care. If I can survive Faustite, I can survive anything the Negaverse can throw at me." His bravado was stated matter-of-factly, without bragging. "I took that fiery b*****d on as a Super and lived to tell the tale. The Negaverse doesn't frighten me." What did frighten him a little was how weak Brielle sounded. He didn't want her to pass out on him, so he tried to keep her engaged and awake. "You purified, you said? Blimey, that must have taken a lot of courage. You're a pretty gutsy lady," he smiled down at her as he strode down the street. "Thanks for the boost earlier, by the way. It really helped." Steadying her in his arms, Rob ducked down a side street that he knew avoided being seen as much as possible and was a more direct shot toward the hospital. "How you doing, luv?" he asked gently.

No slipping into the darkness, Cybele reminded herself as Rob kept talking. She had to stay awake until the hospital could make sure she wasn't dying. "I'm here," she said, even as the world swayed. To keep talking, she added, "I used to think like that, from what I've been told. I was an Eternal. Reckless. It's how I got corrupted in the first place." Even in her weakened state, she knew that she didn't want to see someone as kind as Rob end up going through the sorts of things she'd suffered. "Faustite's a strategist," she told him. "Information branch, like Sylvite. He makes lists of people's strengths and weaknesses. I've seen him do it." She'd seen what he'd pulled off at the Farnsworth using the information about his soldiers that he'd gathered just during the short briefing. "He'll find out your magic, find out what makes you tick, and turn it all against you to break you down over time. Be careful. Don't assume it'll all turn out like before." Perhaps she was being a bit negative, but she was also in a lot of pain.

Rob was suddenly very aware of the mild red scar around his throat, acquired in the burning Farnsworth Building while Faustite was kneeling on him, trying to choke the life out of him and steal his starseed with his searing-hot, charred and blackened hands. He'd come so close to dying… He nodded soberly. "Thank you. I'm definitely going to keep that in mind about him. My biggest failing, I reckon," he said with a wry smirk, "is I get a bit too cocky and forget that what it is I'm dealing with is really quite dangerous. Faustite could have killed me several times over, and if he could have killed me, he could have corrupted me. Frankly, though, I think he'd rather see me dead." Sylvite now too, most likely; he'd probably made an enemy of her as well. The hospital finally came into view, lit up like a shining beacon of hope. "We're almost there, luv, just another block to go. Hang on for me."

"Hanging on," Brielle assured him, gritting her teeth a bit with every step. It hurt, she was weak, but she was alive. "Don't want you dead, either," she said, although she wasn't so sure that Faustite wouldn't try to corrupt him. He'd talked of bringing her back last time they'd met, even though he knew that her starseed was damaged now, and that putting more Chaos in would make it worse, make her weaker. That thought didn't seem to bother him. She doubted Puck's cockiness would put him off. "I can tell you more about some of the agents," she said, "But, later." The sight of the hospital doors was a welcome one.

"Yeah, later, once you're out of here and safe." Rob was more than a little bit interested in the tea Cybele had to spill about some of the Negaverse agents she had known, but now was most definitely not the time, nor was it the place. The doors to the Emergency Department (he kept wanting to call it Casualty) slid open as he strode up to them, Brielle grasped tightly in his arms. "We're here, we made it," he smiled down at her, blinking against the bright lights. "Medic!" he shouted as loudly as he dared. "Help, she's been stabbed!" stari_maga I think we can close in the next post or two!

Brielle smiled up at Rob, even as he called for help. She couldn't talk about the war in here, but she tried to thank him with her eyes one last time. Luckily the emergency room was not too busy. Within a minute, someone was coming for her with a wheelchair, and she was whisked back behind the double doors for triage and treatment. tatterpixie Can fin here, thanks so much, it was great-
