 [alien seeking] [wc: 525 words]
From the moment she learned about aliens, Ariadne was fascinated by the very concept. Sure, there was some connection between Senshi and space--she sort of understood that--but from what Abzu said, these were for reals actual offworlders, people that had been born and raised on a non-Earth planet, and the fact that they even existed was enough to get Ariadne excited. She'd never thought of herself as someone super into science fiction, that was more Ava's thing, but the idea that there was more out there than the little blue rock she'd grown up on was...pretty intoxicating. She wanted to know everything there was to know about these strange visitors from beyond the stars, and if she could have that, she would be very, very happy.
The problem was, she wasn't sure where to look. Apparently they'd been keeping to themselves, so apparently, she was going to have to go hunting, and that sounded kinda rough, because frankly she just didn't know where to start. She wasn't a stranger to effort, sure,. but she had so much going on in her civilian life all the time always....making time for Senshi stuff was hard enough as it was. Making time to run up and down the city hunting for aliens with no real goal? An absolute nightmare. Total pain in her a**.
And yet she was completely, 100% thinking about doing it. Because it would be totally worth it. She would get to see--to talk to--an entire real alien! How was that not the coolest thing that had ever happened to her or anyone ever? There was no way she would let that kind of opportunity go.
And so she kept searching, kept looking for the aliens she knew had to be out there. Even if she didn't have much luck, she could at least incorporate it into her work draining energy. That had her up and down the city anyway, looking for groups of people she could swipe from. She was beginning to despair, though, as days staggered on with no results. Maybe...maybe she needed to be staying out later? Maybe the fact that she had to go to bed early for practice and ballet meant that she wouldn't ever find any of their visitors? The thought made her despair, and she seriously considered utterly wrecking her sleep schedule for a day or two just to see if staying out after midnight and into the wee hours increased her chance of finding a Velencian.
She just wanted to talk. Just wanted to know what they were about. Desperately wanted to hear their perspective on the war, because she had no doubt it would be incredibly interesting. After all, they weren't from here, so maybe....maybe they would have ideas or knowledge that could help the Court?
And also, Ariadne just wanted to see one. Once. In her life. She was a magical soldier in a space war. Getting to meet an alien was the absolute least the universe owed her, she was pretty sure.

 [eager anticipation] [wc: 517 words]
To say that Nissa was anxious was to...well, not understate the problem, but certainly not quite hit it. She was anxious, to a degree, but she was also buzzing with eager anticipation. And how was she supposed to feel any other way, when she'd met someone last night as pretty as Leona, and Leona wanted to meet her again in the morning?
It was ridiculous of her, probably, and it was a very specific heart-pounding feeling, but it was a very, very wonderful one. Meeting Leona had been pure luck, but it gave Nissa a whole neat opportunity, namely the possibility that she could help someone else understand that the world of amgic and monsters and wonderful powers they had been dumped into was real. She could understand why it was hard; she was pretty sure she only really bnelieved it herself because it had been Avacyn that introduced her to the whole thing, and Ava wouldn't lie to her. Plus, Ava had made sure they went out together her first few nights os she could get used to the whole thing. Maybe, given the opportunity...she could be that for Leona. Help her understand, since whoever had Awakened her had clearly dropped that ball--or maybe not had the chance to hold it. The chance to mentor someone like she had been mentored...ah, the very idea was just...incredible.
And more than that, she';d actually managed to find and meet a real Vanguardian. Sure, it had been a little awkward the first time she and Fangnyl ran into each other, but that was okay. They'd met again, and gotten a do-over, and he seemed to understand that she didn't mean any harm, so maybe he would take that back to the rest of them and she'd get to meet more.
She really, really wanted to meet more. Wanted to ask them all sorts of questions, and learn as much as she could about what it meant to be from a different planet. There was surely plenty they had to share--it would be all about finding ones that were willing to talk right off.
With a contented sigh, she twirled around her room, and then flopped onto her bed, giggling like a schoolgirl with a crush. Look at her, being an ambassador for the Court all over the place! Ava would be so proud; she'd have to tell her next time her sister dropped by. This was the kind of thing she could do that would prove that Ava had made the right choice bringing her in, rather than letting her stay on the sidelines.
But, ah, she really, really needed to calm herself down. She had skating practice in the morning, and then she would have her meeting with Evie; no reason to show up to those exhausted. And her coach would notice, and ask questions, and it would be terrible and awkward, so....she needed to get her rest.
Tomorrow, though, was absolutely guaranteed to be awesome. Nissa couldn't wait.
