"Oh no, she's full Elarian. So she's got the grey and pink...sorta like you." Nayyara replied easily, "Because she asked Esena for a bloom, she got me...full Elidae."
Nayarra was going to ask more, but the conversation shifted a little bit back to the topic of Zinris. She nodded as her teal dreads bounced with the movement, her lime green eyes seemingly wide with interest before a pout crossed her lips at the second comment.
"Oh...right..." she replied, a bit deflated. Biting her lip a moment, she listened and nodded absently as she thought.
"You know...my mother and grandmother sailed across the sea because they didn't agree with those views...At least my grandmother didn't. She was small for her age, so she always talks about how no matter what is bloomed, it's still a blessing from the great mother and is 'right for the world'"
She moved close as if to take up Kahukura's hands in reassurance, "We're all children of the great mother, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.!"

"They're not all like," Kahukura may have been quick to come to Zinris' defense, but her voice was still small. "My mother's very assertive, but she fell in love with my father so you should be okay. They'll like you better than they do me..." A full blooded elidae was, at the end of the day, still a full blooded Aishan. She may have been the result of a theft, but there was still something sacred about her existence. Kahukura and her fellow hybrids were just oddities struggling to figure out their place.
Very few had outright said they hated her, but out of a dozen kind words the one barbed curse rang the loudest.
And then, all of a sudden, the elidae was too close and Kahukura's urge to panic consumed her. With a squeak she took a step back, eyes as wide as a trapped bird. "T-t-that's a very kind thing to say." Why was she so close?! "...I should be leaving soon, uhm...can you...find your way back or...?"

Nayyara frowned but stepped back, eyes narrowing as she studied the flighty girl in front of her. It was like when she would meet Kahikinans, always uncertain and a bit...jumpy.
Suddenly, Nayyara felt a little foolish and insecure herself. Was she that terrifying that others wouldn't trust her? Or was there something else, beyond her control, that resulted in such a reaction. Taking a deep breath, she reassured herself it was most likely the latter.
"Oh..." she said flatly at the dismissal, before shaking her head and lifting her chin, "Well, it's the truth. And I've got a whole family who would back me up." she nodded, before stepping back a few steps.
"Shouldn't be too hard to find my way...and if nothing else, my mother will eventually call for me. Look...my name is Nayyara. I'm traveling Tendaji right now...but if you ever want to visit Esena...just let them know to find me. I'll make sure you receive a warm welcome and a personalized tour."

Kahukura carefully tucked her slingshot back into the pack at her side, barely giving the action a wary side eye while she stayed as focused on Nayyara as she could.
At least her family sounds nice. Having an entire group of people at your side who advocated for a more supportive lifestyle sounded nice. Beyond her parents, sister and grandmother Kura's world was incredibly small. The thought of anyone beyond that circle stepping forward to offer their hand was as outlandish as a fairytale to her.
"...Stay safe, Nayyara." Kahukura offered a little smile and stood a little more at ease. "If you come back through on your way home I wouldn't mind hearing about your travels. Just ask for Kahukura. Oh, and-" Digging through her pack, the hybrid shuffled some random bits and babbles around for a bit before producing a small, smooth crystals. After years of being in her possession the rough edges had been worn down to the point that it almost resembled a perfectly sculpted oval, but it's violet surface shined with just as many colorful hues as ever. She took a half step forward and offered it to the Elidae. "Take this. For luck."

Nayyara let the silence linger in a strange sense of goodbye, wanting to continue cultivating the friendship but painfully aware that the girl was interested in getting out of the clearing. It wasn't unheard of, to have that sense of finality in a meeting, but it didn't mean Nayyara wanted it to end.
Nodding once at the safe tidings, she was about to ask for the girl's name when Kahukura offered it up, and under her breath she repeated it three times. It was a unique name and worth remembering, especially if they ever came back to the island.
Eyes widening and mouth opening in surprise, Nayyara felt her cheeks darken as she tentatively reached out. She palmed the crystal and rolled it slowly, swallowing a moment before looking back up at the girl.
"Thank you..." She said softly, truly believing that this was a lucky charm, "I'll keep this with me always, and remember who gave it to me. I hope we meet again soon, Kahukura."
And with that, and a final nod of farewell, Nayyara turned and raced off into the mist, pondering if she should let her mother know of the fateful encounter.
