If you want something more to eat or drink just come up to the counter, I’ve got you. Relax and stay warm and dry, okay?”

Nick smiled down at the boy and stood up, calling a friendly greeting to the couple who entered and went to take their order, his mind spinning with ideas on how best to bring this up to Arias...and how best to figure out how adoption worked.

Sure, he had wanted a younger child but…

But Arias’s parents did want grandkids...and this would be a start.
