[6/7]

Zadia fiddled with her skirts for just a moment before settling in between her mother and brother. She pulled the shawl from her shoulders, choosing to lay it out across her lap just incase any of her food spilled. She took a pleased bite of her smoothie and seemed happy enough just to sit back to watch the upcoming performance.

Her mothers words, however, made her suspicious. There was something she wasn't telling them..."What did you do?" She whispered back in a hiss, only to have some man have the gall to hush her from the next row up.

Maritza mouthed back 'nothing' and settled back to watch. In all honesty she hadn't had a hand in this performance, but she did know the troupe. They'd performed at a few festivals in Zenner when she and Uquin were staying there. It was nice to see them again after so long, especially now that it looked like they were collaborating with the local actors.

As the performance got underway it was clear as to why Maritza's interest had been peaked. A leafling woman raised her hands to the sky, offering a prayer to the spirits and lifting several pink blossoms with the wind. Her magic in itself was impressive, but when the lightning sorceress behind her used her own gifts to create flowers out of fire....well, that was a show.

A small portion on his attention remained on his mother's presence; waiting to see if she would get up before the show ended. Most of his attention went to the show though, listening intently to the story. He found the notions of gods and goddesses silly, but he thoroughly appreciated the entertainment value that each deity was able to bring to the world.

Of course, this meant it wasn't long until he was lost in the performance. The flow of words and music and magic... it was so smooth. Add in that this was the largest congregation of Belreans he could remember ever seeing, and it made for a very interesting evening. Looking over at his sister and his mother, who was still there!, Lioe found himself smiling. Enjoying something together without having to talk... this was what he enjoyed.

Zadia couldn't believe what she was seeing! Soon enough her attention was taken away from whatever aggravations she held toward her mother and was utterly replaced by outright excitement. She'd never seen magic like that in her life! Could all Belreans do that? Could she?

When a few performers started to dance around the stage doing high flying acrobatics she reached out to clutch her brother's arm, lighting up just like she used to as a kid. "Isn't this great, Lioe?" She whispered. In truth she knew he would have preferred if she were quiet, but still...a few words couldn't hurt, right?

7/7~ One last one from you and we're done x3

In all honesty, Maritza didn't care for performances. She found them garishly trivial events where liars and charlatans were held in high regard while the actual minds behind the work were often forgotten. Still, it was hard to ignore the effort placed into each show when her own brother was an actor and now that she was seeing the excitement from her children...

Well, it was kind of worth it, wasn't it? Zadia wasn't tense like she usually was and Lioe was actually smiling. She tried not to make eye contact with him, much like one would do with a stray perzi, but it was hard to ignore him. He seemed content, which was good, and the same was said of Zadia. Ever since her youth nightmares plagued her and insomnia usually brought about the worst in her moods, but now...

Now everything was just fine.

Blinking a few times with surprise, Lioe stared at his sister for a second before his smile grew further. Zadia looked happy, mama looked happy, he felt happy... "It is," he managed to reply softly. Moments like this seemed to be so rare that he couldn't help how light he felt in that moment. Gods or not, even Lioe could believe right then that everything would be okay.

Besides, this was going to make a great story for his journal!
