It only took a moment, though Ashanite knew that for the new Lieutenant, it had to feel like an eternity. Still, it was over quickly enough, and Ashanite pulled his hand out, then reached around to steady his new recruit.
He took a moment to consider him, and then gave a brief nod, though what he was nodding for, he wasn't sure.
"Well then. Welcome, Lieutenant Arsenolite." It seemed like it fit, though Ashanite couldn't say why, if pressed.Lionel held his breath the entire time Emmett was being remade. Corruptions were a finicky business, and this Ashanite seemed confident and experienced, but Lionel had to admit, he wasn't familiar with the man or his name.
But it worked. Where Emmett had been, there was a Negaverse Lieutenant.
Lionel let out his breath.
"Good," he said, to himself. It had all worked.

Emmett shuddered when Ashanite's hand left his body, grateful for the steadying hand and showing it with a simple nod of thanks. He inhaled deeply and flexed his fingers, feeling... so different. Good different.
He smiled. "Thank you, General Ashanite," he said, then turned to grin at Lionel.
"Hey, man. Be honest, how hot do I look now?" he asked, running a hand through his short hair and twirling his torso enough to make his brand new coattails flap.

"You look fetching," Lionel said dryly, rolling his eyes. Good to know that corruption hadn't changed Emmett, at least not in the immediate.Ashanite rolled his eyes, but he couldn't say too much. He peacocked enough himself, there was little room for him to criticize, truth be told. If he tried, he suspected it would summon Xenotime from wherever she was to laugh at the very idea.
"Good. Now, both of you, come with me. I'd like to show our new Lieutenant the ropes."

Arsenolite winked at Lionel's response, holding back a chuckle. Good. Even if Lionel was joking, he knew he was totally hot. Uniforms did that to a person, after all. He followed Ashanite eagerly. Ready to begin his new life in Chaos.
