Soleiyu had darted over to investigate what they were working with, giving her a few moments to swap shoes. When she started unloading the contents of her bag, he glanced over, obviously curious. “Some magic?” he prompted, and while he knew he was adorable standing on his hind legs, paws pressed to the machine as he investigated it, he dropped back to all paws on the ground--and then shifted forms.
Where his furry, white, four legged body was once standing, now a very tall man stood.
Sort of a man, at least; he still had Soleiyu’s white ears and massive tail, and a wave of long white hair. The glasses were the same, and the star on his forehead.
His tail still twitched eagerly as he walked over, not thinking much at all about being in this form over the other.
“What sort of magic have you packed?” he inquired, eager to get to work but unable to stifle his curiosity.

"It showed up after I was sucked into a magical television," said Pendour, digging into the depths of her bag. She pulled out a circular charm that was just a little smaller than one of her palms, and she cradled it more carefully than she had any of the other supplies. "From what I can tell, it can return something to a previous state. Um, hopefully a less broken state?" She eyed the main pipe across the room, the one in terrible shape. "I'm not exactly sure how it works." Slowly, she turned on her knees to show her friend what she was working with, only to find a pair of gold-embroidered stockings where she'd expected to find a cat. Pendour blinked once, then twice. After that, she returned to her usual soft smile, and she held the charm a little higher. "I didn't know you could do that," she said, and while there was no shock in her voice, there was definitely some curiosity of her own there as she looked over his features. "I like your hair," she said, holding up a lock of her own white curls to show how it almost matched his.

Soleiyu was still running his fingers over things, eagerly trying to learn everything he could through every means necessary.” He smiled, and like this it clearly reached his eyes. “I like your hair,” he replied. “I don’t get to do ‘this’ often. It’s not really safe in Destiny City. Oh, and this thing,” he said, and gathered up his giant tail into his arms, “Dangerous in small quarters.”
He squeezed his fluffy tail before dropping it; it swished enthusiastically behind him.
“A magical television--was that, oh, was it last year? There was a--the charity event? I was hiding from the rain and got sucked into one. I hope it was the same one and not an epidemic of cursed televisions. You should use it,” he said, without any hesitation. “Press buttons and see what happens. That could save you hours of trying to repair something--and, more than that, if it works like how you think it does, maybe you can get it working to exactly how it’s supposed to instead of us just guessing. Although,” he eyed the console again. “...I really want to play with it. It’s beautiful.”
Oh, but they weren’t here so he could play with things, he was there to help, and he would only do as Pendour desired. He was just happy to be here.

"Not safe?" asked Pendour, forehead wrinkling a little even as Soleiyu tried to change the subject to his massive tail. She could feel the aura flaring up from his location, now, but she didn't think much of it at all. Auras always went hand in hand with magic. Her eye followed his tail, instead, as it swished behind him. "Are people cruel to you because you don't look human? Do they think you're a monster?" Her frown deepened. Nothing about his well-tailored tunic or even his ears screamed monster, really, but people got jumpy in Destiny City. There were good reasons to fear what you didn't understand. "I'll talk to them, if you're with me," she said, even as she began to fiddle and fidget with the small device she was holding. "I'll tell them that you're nice. Well," she squinted, "As long as the scars don't throw them off, too." Before she could dwell too much on that, a button on the device clicked into place, and with only a slight buzzing sound, like a tape rewinding, the massive pipe in front of her shifted and sealed back into the shape it must have had a thousand years ago. Pendour gave a soft gasp. She ran over to touch it, but there wasn't so much as a bump in the metal where the damage had been before. She looked back to Soleiyu, smile growing. "It worked," she whispered. Kyuseisha no Hikari Rewind Charm - A decorative, palm sized, circular charm with an engraved button in the center. This intricately carved charm seems to have been designed so that the user could fiddle with it; parts of it twist and shift though there doesn’t seem to be any particular purpose for this aside from entertainment. When the Rewind Charm is pointed at an inanimate object and the button pressed, it has the can ‘rewind’ the object back to a previous state in time. It cannot break an item down into components but it can restore it from significant damage. It cannot fix large building structures, however it can repair large objects, such as statues. This can be used on an item on Earth or on Homeworlds. It can be used in Mirrorspace and Negaspace as well, however you may need staff permission to determine what can be restored in Chaos oriented locations. This item can be used once before the magic is expired, at which point in time it can be kept as a neat memento! This item can be used freely in one on one roleplays but please speak to the host of any shop or player run event to confirm that you can use this item during their event!

Pendour was too sweet, and Soleiyu smiled politely when she offered to talk to them if they mistakenly mistook him for a monster.
He didn’t have the opportunity to properly explain why it wasn’t safe for him--but then, he thought he was quite handsome already; he didn’t think he looked anything like a monster. Defending his appearance was far less interesting than seeing what she’d just done.
He took a step forward, enamored by the sudden restoration of the pipe. He joined her, waiting for some illusion to shift or something to break, but after he ran his fingers along it and poked and prodded--perhaps a bit more forcefully than he needed to--his eyes dropped to the remote.
“Oh,” he breathed, in absolute awe. “Oh, what I wouldn't give to know how you just did that. It’s beautiful. It’s perfect.”
He looked back to the pipe, thinking it might be better to celebrate this victory now and fawn over the remote later. “This speeds things up quite a bit, don’t you think? --Stunning, Pendour. I’ve never seen anything like that.”

Magic had never fallen apart on Pendour before, not really, and while she traced her fingertips over the large pipe for a few more seconds, just to check that it was all the way whole, after that she turned her back to and clicked the charm at another little cluster of pipes. Nothing happened. Well, it couldn't all be that simple. She only knew so much about trinkets and artifacts, but this one seemed like it had lost whatever magic had been buzzing under its surface a few seconds ago. She could feel it, if she thought hard enough. "Here," she said, reaching out to hand it to Soleiyu. It was a magic thing, and maybe even an ancient thing, so it was close enough to what she'd promised to show him. "I think it's spent now, but you might be able to see how it's put together. You can keep it, even." Her gaze flicked back to the pipe. Her smile grew. "That was the one I was all worried about, though. The rest I think we should just be able to patch up with a little caulk." Not that she was quite confident in how the silicone tubes worked, either, but that was at least something that seemed possible.

Soleiyu watched as she pointed the remote elsewhere, and while he was eagerly waiting to see what else the device could do, he immediately deflated when it did nothing.
But, she’d given it to him, and his tail twitched behind him eagerly with the thought of what he could do with it. Of course he wanted to take it apart and see how it worked--and fix it, if he could. It was too impressive of a thing not to want to tinker with, to understand. He wanted more. He wanted to see what else it could fix.
Could it fix things? Worlds? People?
His tail was restless behind him and he looked like he was ready to bounce with this wonderful, amazing, perfect gift.
“Oh, you’re too kind, Pendour. You show me all of these beautiful things, you let me keep you company, and you lavish me with presents? If I can fix it, I want to bring it back for you. It’s only fair. Thank you, Pendour.”
It was hard for him not to just start taking it apart now, and he had to force himself to shake his head and pocket it.
“I said I’d come here to help and I’ve done nothing! Let me help with the caulk, or something, at least. Even if it’s just cheering you on.”

Pendour smiled at the sight of Soleiyu's tail waving quite fiercely just from being given the spent little charm. She was glad it was a precious thing to him. She could see the gears turning behind his eyes, the excitement there, and she was glad that he felt all that for something that likely would have ended up at the bottom of one of her drawers. "You're worth it," she said to him, her voice soft but still as sincere as ever. Although she did dig back into her bag immediately after and hand him a tube of the caulk. "And anyway, we've just gotten to the hard work, now." Well, the tedious work, really. Pendour spent a few moments looking over the instructions on her tube, and then she knelt down and tried to put all the pieces from the plumbing videos together and seal whatever cracks and connections that she could find. For a few moments, she was all silent and focusing, but as she settled into the work, she asked, "Soleiyu? I was wondering something. Do you have a senshi?"

He nearly purred, but it seemed he’d composed himself at least somewhat. This was a professional trip. Sort of. Pendour was too good of a friend for him to treat this as something too formal or impersonal.
It didn’t feel like hard work; he took the caulk eagerly, tail still twitching enthusiastically now that he had a task, and he immediately set about investigating some of the pipes and identifying sections that needed a little help.
He seemed experienced enough that he’d settled into a comfortable groove with his work. Still, he paused when she asked and glanced over his shoulder for a second before he went back to the crack he’d been working on.
“I have a few yes. They’re very needy. Very troublesome,” he huffed, but there was an obvious sense of endearment. “I’m closest to one, Lysithea. Have you met her?” His tail made him easy to read; it danced behind him and he was obviously enjoying being here and talking with her. “She’s very sweet. Why do you ask?”

Of course caulking wasn't quite as easy as they made it look in the videos, but it wasn't awful, either. Pendour didn't pick up the rhythm as quickly as her Mauvian friend did. Her first few attempts at sealing cracks came out a little globby and awkward, but her work got smoother as she went along. She couldn't help a small laugh at the way he talked about his senshi. "Does that mean you call me troublesome when I'm not around?" she asked, her good eye twinkling with just a hint of mischief as she glanced over her shoulder towards him. It was a small price to pay for his friendship. She was sure that he took very good care of anyone he thought was his. "And no, I don't think I've met Lysithea, but I'm sure she's just lovely if you like her." She turned back to her work. "I was talking to this other senshi. He said he had a bonded Mauvian, that the bond was something deeper than friendship, some kind of senshi magic." She stood up and moved to a new section of the pipes, although she was careful not to let Soleiyu see her smile fade. "I was wondering if that's why I've got such awful luck with Mauvians, if it's because I'm not a senshi. Do you know anything about that?" Her tone was still conversational. She might not love constantly getting scratched up, but at the moment she was more curious than upset.

Soleiyu tilted his head at her curiously. “No, it sounds like you’ve just met some nasty Mauvians. There’s nothing inherently problematic between Mauvians and Knights. We can’t bond in the same way with Knights as we can with Senshi, but that’s no reason to give a Knight a hard time. Has someone been bothering you again?”
He lowered the caulk and his tail was twitching again--differently now, like he was ready to pounce at some attacker. His glasses were low on his nose and he was looking over the rim of them to watch her carefully, because he had the distinct impression that she’d go out of her way to make sure he didn’t worry.
But, of course he’d worry, because she was his favorite type of troublesome.
She was the sort of troublesome that worked its way into your heart, that made you worry and fuss over them, and think about them, and hope they were doing well, and the type of troublesome that you wanted to be around.
She was a good person, and she’d already been through so much.
A Mauvian should know better than to harass her.

Pendour was so absorbed in her work and trying to make sure that the caulk stayed smooth that she did not notice the new, more aggressive twitch to Soleiyu's tail, or even the way that he was staring at her. "Oh, it's been a few months since the one actually attacked me," she said, her voice light as light and a little dismissive. "And, um, I think he was corrupted, and I accidentally insulted him, so it's really mostly my fault." She wasn't trying to worry Solieyu. That was the last thing she wanted, especially since she really was okay, right now. She wasn't trying to be troublesome. She was trying to trouble shoot, for the future. She'd almost been hoping that it was one of those magic quirks keeping her from getting along with Mauvians, but it turned out that it wasn't. It was just something about her that was all wrong. She sighed softly, although probably not so softly that he wouldn't hear. "The other one was okay, but I think I annoyed him by being too unfocused, or too soft, or something. That's, um, harder. Insults I can probably avoid, but I don't know how to be less of those things."

"Don’t be less of those things,” Soleiyu said suddenly, and he’d completely forgotten about his caulk. “Or whatever he said. You’re not unfocused--look at what you’ve done for this place already? Researching like you have, you put a lot of time and effort into that. You’ve been incredibly focused. It sounds like he was just trying to say something hateful. And soft?”
He huffed. “I like you just how you are, Pendour. Don’t change. Especially not to appease some pig-headed Mauvian. We’re not all perfect, you know.”
He seemed indignant, offended on her behalf. “The corrupted ones, don’t mind them. That Chaos warps their brains, they can’t help it. I’m sure he deserved to be insulted. Don’t lose sleep over either of them. You’re wonderful, Pendour. Don’t ever forget that.”

“Nobody deserves to be insulted,” said Pendour softly. Fighting turned her stomach, but she could at least understand why some people felt the need to turn to violence after everything the Negaverse had done. Adding insults to those injuries was just another level of unnecessary, though. She could tell Soleiyu was trying to cheer her up, and she finally turned back to smile at him. “You’re always so sweet to me,” she murmured. “You always know just what to say.” She still held lingering doubts about how people saw her, and also about how maybe if she’d focused sooner, instead of playing with gardens for years, her wonder might already be all fixed, but it was easier not to linger in self pity when she had a friend here telling her she was enough. “If there’s not some magical or, um, cultural thing that I’m missing, I guess I’ll just try not to let it bother me so much.” Her voice was soft, still, and she took a step back over towards him. “There are more important things to think about, anyway. I’ve got waterfalls to fix, and lovely friends to spend time with.” She still wasn’t quite used to seeing him tall and with hands, and just to be sure, she asked, “Is it still okay if I hug you?”

“I’m so glad you asked,” Soleiyu said, because maybe his face hadn’t betrayed it, but the more he listened to her talk, the more he wanted to take advantage of his arms and wrap them around her. He left the caulk he was working with on the nearest surface, and wiped his hands on his very nice clothes--though, he hadn’t seemed to have made a mess of anything--and walked over to her.
He was gentle as he wrapped her in his arms; his tail curled around her, soft and fluffy and warm, and reaching where his arms weren’t long enough. He drew her close and tried to make sure she had plenty of room to make herself comfortable.
“There’s nothing wrong with you, Pendour. I just want you to know that. You’re wonderful. The only thing I’d change about you if I could is that I’d make sure you knew that.”
And he’d say it as often as she needed to hear it if it meant one day she’d believe it.
