The whole thing made her wonder how her brothers were doing back home. Both had been fawned over in their youth by passerby's and showered in compliments about how cute they were. Now that they were getting older Adenah was sure her parents were being kept busy. One day she hoped to visit them again, but right now....at this rate she would just bring more trouble to their doorstep.

"He's a cheeky kid, but I can't say that I hated it." Adenah turned a pointed gaze back to Thea and lifted her index finger to help make her point. "You know if you want to keep women off Dovian you should probably tell your son to stop drawing attention to him. He kept asking if I wanted to marry his Uncle."

Her son was cheeky, she'd admit that. Thea was about to turn around when Adenah said that Lynx had asked if the woman wanted to marry Dovian. The smaller hybrid half choked before she looked at Ade with wide eyes. "He what!?" She groaned and brought her hand up to do a literal facepalm. "That kid.." Her hand slowly fell away and she just looked at the injured woman for a second.

With a suspicious look on her face she lifted a brow. "Do you want to marry him?" Thea couldn't help that question and Adenah had brought up the subject first. "If you do I have some rules.." Her hand was held up to show her fingers. "Starting with you can't get him killed or injured." Which was technically a strike against this woman already and Thea gave a smug grin.

"Now if you just wanna have some fun with him, that's fine. I never said my brother had to be a monk." Thea was a bit more relaxed than Shura who literally just shooed all females away from their brother, but being that those two were twins she could understand it. "Just no trying to trap him with kids, I'll shank someone over that."

Adenah couldn't help the laugh that slipped out anymore than she could stop the grin that followed. "Yeah, go figure. Found the one girl who wasn't flinging herself at his uncle and thought 'that's a good one'." Adenah snorted.

Still, she held up her hands in surrender. "Woah woah, slow down. I have no intention of marrying your brother. He's a nice guy, really, but I'm not wife material." Besides, there's no way in hell I can guarantee he wouldn't get hurt or worse... How was she supposed to make a promise like that? Beyond the fact she wasn't even involved with Dovian she couldn't just outright lie to his sister. "You already called me out on that one."

The other bits, though... Adenah averted her eyes, looking at the wall instead of Thea as she bit her lower lip. "Now if he asked me over for the night...that might be different." She'd never met a man yet who could carry her, let alone make it look so easy... "It would all depend on what he wanted; I'm not going to push anything and I'm not going to trap someone with kids. Children aren't exactly in my future and even if they were I wouldn't use them as some kind of bargaining chip."

Thinking on it, though..."That's kind of a big leap, you know; from threatening me as soon as you walk in the door to cooking and basically giving me permission to spend time with your brother. It's like getting a blessing from a janarim; I feel honored, really."

If Thea was being honest it was likely because Adenah wasn't flinging herself at Dovian that Lynx thought she was a good pick. Anyone who fawned over her brother was usually blinded by one thing or another and never really got to know him. As the woman also admitted she had no intention of marrying and she'd already managed to get her brother injured she smiled. A bit of sisterly smugness still there.

She didn't, however, miss the lip bite or the way the woman looked away and commented about spending the night with her brother. Theanduri laughed and shook her head at that bit. "Oh~ What did he do to give you that look?" She supposed it could just be the usual; girls saw Dovian working at the forge and liked the muscles.

"Hm? I hardly threatened you when I got here but I was within my rights to as his little sister. Especially given that he received lashings because of you. The cooking bit was part of my promise to him to make sure you were taken care of. Kinda pointless for you to starve after he did all that to save you." One shoulder lifted with a bit of sass. "Now that I know you didn't blackmail him into doing anything and you clearly don't like the other women that hang off him..." Thea gave a lop-sided grin. "Hey.. if you feel the need to shank one or two.. I have a sharp object."

Adenah couldn't help it; she gave a little laugh and outright grinned. "Okay, so, it's going to sound stupid, but he picked me up. That's it." Something so small could just worm it's way into her heart and make her feel fuzzy. It was something so much more primal than affection, though she was starting to find herself more and more concerned with his well being each day. Who knew trying to pickpocket a smith in the market could end up in a near gossip session with his sister? "It's nice to be looked at for a change. Not like...I don't know, it's like he sees me without seeing me. Like he doesn't care about the way I look, shape or features. None of my friends have even so much as sent a letter to me since the accident, but he went through all of this-" She motioned to Thea with the bag of medicine in hand. "-for me. It's nice."

She was sure Knott only stuck around because they lived together. It wasn't like the other woman had anywhere else to go, otherwise she very well may have. Adenah had sent a letter to her mother once she was cognizant enough to do it, but it would take weeks to make it to Jauhar and even longer for her mother to come to Oba, if she came at all. She'll come; you just have to give her time. Dovian, though...he'd done so much for her and she couldn't help thinking that was the side of him that these women needed to fawn over.

"You know, I wasn't sure about you at first, Thea." Adenah smirked. "But now...now I like the way you think." She could definitely get behind someone ready to shank a leech or two. Today had certainly ended up different than what she'd planned, but Adenah couldn't say she wasn't happy with the changes.
