He glanced over at her as she seemed to have an epiphany. “Oh?” His curiosity got the better of him there. “Do I want to know? Am I your alibi?” He sometimes dreaded when his little sister was in town due to her line of work. Of course he knew she would hardly ever be put in jail, and if she was she’d be bailed out in no time due to a family friend but he didn’t like it.

“What? No. Nothing like that today.” She had caught on to his way of thinking real quick but shook her head at him. “No. Lynx said he wanted to be a beast tamer, we’ve not gotten him a beast yet.” And since they were in Oba it was as good a time as any. There would certainly be more beasts in the market for him to look at. More of a choice than the Matori markets.

“Oh yeah..” He nodded as he went about working on the metal. He used short hits so that he wasn’t being obnoxious while his sister spoke to him. It made him think for a bit. “Why not see if they have young Kinfa. Profit was always a good girl and dad sings her praises every chance he can.” Not to mention the bird had served as a baby sitter for him and Shura when they were little.

“Kinfa? Yeah, if I can get one as nice as Profit then it would be nice.” She had lots of fond memories of their dad’s avian familiar. She was entertaining, they always had feathers to use for decoration, and she was protective. Thea wouldn’t mind her son having a familiar like that to start out with. It would certainly give him a good companion for life.

“I think I saw a new shipment of beasts being rolled in this morning on my way to work.” He had to walk through the market to get to the forge so it wasn’t uncommon for him to see things. He motioned to the door before he continued hammering away at the metal. He needed to finish the dagger anyways so it wasn’t like he’d be good for conversation. When she waved and headed out he nodded at her and then focused on what he needed to do.
