"Are you sure? Because I can assure you that I was talking about earthling tea so I'm pretty sure you misunderstood me." Bright one? Well, that was new. Maritza supposed that in comparison to the rather drab yaeli she did come across as obnoxiously hued. Even if she'd been a more 'subtle' traveler she would have stuck out by default.

"Honestly? I'm not sure. The sailors gave it good reviews, though." From what they said it was open seating so Maritza walked up to one of the empty tables out front and sat down, much to the curiosity of the local patrons. It seemed common enough for half to either pay them no mind at all or to be completely invested in the oddity.

Still, if their waitress cared she didn't show it. She was youthful, somewhere in her late teens if Maritza was to guess and as pudgy as fresh bread. Her smile reached her ears as she looked at the two of them and handed out paper menus. It was only after she'd left to tend to another table that Maritza started speaking again.

"How many daughters do you have?"

She smirked at the bright one. Akeldama followed her to the table and took a seat across from her. It was a bit awkward with her long legs. Obviously the table wasn't meant for tall people. She adjusted so that she could fit just a bit better.

So there were other earthlings that said this place was good. She looked around for a bit then looked at the girl that brought them a paper to read off. Akel gave a nod of her head in thanks then looked down at it.

"We have two right now." She answered. Akeldama wanted more but she hadn't brought it up to Pruu just yet. There was this trip to get through first. After that then she would bring it up. She just didn't want to stress her partner out unnecessarily. "How many do you have?"

Two daughters, both relatively young, and a partner who wanted to travel? That was quite a lot to ponder, especially given the world they were looking at. Travel for the family wouldn't be easy under normal circumstances, but knowing they were elarians? Maritza might not have vocalized it, but she knew that it would only make things harder. How many sailors would be willing to have them on their vessel? How many more would ensure 'safe passage' to whatever island they were trying to go to?

It was all a mystery.

"Three; all triplets. Two sons and a daughter." When the waitress came back around she ordered some tea with a bit of citrus zest and a pastry. Something delightfully sweet in compared to her sour personality. "My partner has two daughters from a previous relationship and they are....a fair bit older than my children." It was never easy to explain that she was barely older than his grandson so Maritza simply didn't.

Three? Triplets? Akel took a second to think about what it would be like if she had three girls. With Ali and Lu it was crazy enough on their own. Add in a third one of them? The chaos there would be! It was kinda amusing to think about. Oddly she wanted it.

When the server came around she ordered the strongest tea. Nothing to eat since she wasn't hungry. She'd snacked on her walk to the city. Looking back at Maritza she smiled. "So you gained two daughters. That's not so bad. Do they get along with your triplets?"

Two daughters... How would they feel if she called them that? It was amusing in it's absurdity. Padma and Ujana were Uquin's daughters, nothing more. She respected them simply because they were the children of her partner, had even come to like spending time with Padma, but to call them her daughters? That would never happen. There was too much of a time difference between them, too much bad blood...

"As well as they can. They've got their own lives so while they get to see the children it isn't enough to form a lasting bond." Or maybe it was? For all she knew they could all be having dinner together while she meandered around Yael.

As the server came around with their orders Maritza found herself having an easy conversation with the elarian. This wasn't exactly how she'd planned to spend her day, but in all honesty, she wasn't mad about it. It was...oddly pleasant.
