Chernaev smiled icily, impressed with himself that fish were already swimming into the net he had cast. He shot a quick, apprehensive glare at the strange tailed woman, but his only address to her was a quick, polite nod. It was clear from her physiology that she was some creature other than a vampire, and Comrade General Volokoff had no intention of recruiting such entities. Besides the fact that generally speaking they could not be turned (and therefore could not be brought under the General’s direct mental control), if anyone around here was actually recruiting such creatures….it would be none other than Volokoff’s mortal enemies. Any creature that was not either a human or a vampire had to be thought of as potentially one of their spies by default.
User Image
Out of the corner of his eye, Chernaev was relieved to see the huge, bulky figure of his associate Colonel Igor Krakovsky lumbering through the front entrance of the club, his tremendously wide frame plowing through the crowds like a thresher through a field of grain, and most of them clearly being too frightened by the sight of him to offer up much protest. The huge thuggish Cossack had no doubt become bored with loitering about in the street outside, and as his small, dark, beetle-like eyes combed the room suspiciously Chernaev could tell he had probably come in to obtain a replacement for his large empty bottle of Stolichnaya. As long as he was nearby, he would be well prepared if his target were anything less than perfectly cooperative.
Chernaev smiled again unctuously at the vampire who had responded. By his accent he was clearly a German. This filled Chernaev with profound revulsion and hatred, and for General Volokoff it would no doubt do the same. But it would be excellent to get as much use out of him as they could before he was appropriately cast aside. “I represent a man who has made it his mission to offer protection, comradeship and solidarity to vampires everywhere in trying and violent times such as these,” Chernaev purred. He proceeded to surreptitiously distribute business cards that bore General Volokoff’s name and the address of his base of operations. “He believes very strongly that the undead must be mobilized and joined together in common cause if we are to survive the onslaught of the threats directed against us. As a matter of fact, he is willing to provide an audience with whoever is interested in joining his cause this very night. Might I ask, comrades, if any of you are interested?” Chernaev’s red eyes gleamed in a manner that was as sinister as it was inviting.

The vampire almost pulled away from the blond he was dancing with due to how warm her hand was in his, "You must have mistaken me for someone else." He said with a soft smile but he still held her as he waited for the redheaded vampire to speak. When Chernaev did speak, a frown came to Chris's lips not because of his accent but to what he said. "I don't know, I just got here and I won't stay too long but I shall think about it." He said as he took one of the cards and placed it in his breast pocket of the jacket he was wearing.
Chris was so distracted that he didn't see a different redhead walk into the club. If he did, his panic level would have rocketed up and would have made the conversation all the worse. The man turned back to the blond to her reaction to the whole vampire speech.

The goth blew her cover, if only he'd kept his mouth shut, yet he clung to her willingly. Was it a protective maneuver or did he actually assume that she wanted something from him. Either way, it appeared she had the goth's interest for now so if something did go wrong he'd be her ticket out. As for the redhead, he wanted nothing more than to offer them allegiance into his coven. Bold of him to assume that she was a vampire or desired to be part of the undead. Although, she didn't oppose the idea either knowing that she'd be provided for. Lightly, she took his card and glanced over the address and German name. It matched his accent, but he could be playing a role to make himself seem more eccentric. The goth considered the offer, but didn't openly reveal his nature; a bold move on his part. Her curiosity was peaked, and she couldn't hold back her inquisitive side. "Why gather the vampires? Protection isn't just offered for free so what's the catch? Preservation of the vampire species seems admirable of you...and no offense but you don't look the type." Maybe she was being to presumptuous, but she was certain that he yearned for something more. She narrowed her eyes at the redhead while absentmindedly giving the goth's hand a gentle squeeze.

tab Of course, he thought to himself as the number of people in the area increased.

tab Julian took Junko's card wordlessly and studied it as the gothic man stood there. He then recalled the man's words of it being his piano. Though his more demonic features were obscured, save for the unnaturally pale skin, the ginger figured that he was 'safe' for the most part.

tab As he mulled over this he then noticed that Junko was heading towards the stairs an idea popped into his head. With a deep breath and clenched eyes the color returned back to a more natural pale complexion returned to his skin.

tab "Miss Junko," Julian said with a more relaxed tone as he rose from his seat, "I may a job for you in the very near future... Depending on your limits." A thoroughly practiced smile plastered itself onto his face. In fact, if not for the malevolent look in his eyes one might've even called it friendly. "How about we meet up later at the bar to discuss the details?" he said, giving a small wink before turning to the owner of the club.

tab "And where are my manners!" Julian said, jutting out a hand. "The piano was lovely by the way. Actually I was more surprised to see how well tuned it was. Do you do it yourself or do you have a professional come over to do it?"

Viktor took the card Junko handed him, "I shall keep this around just in case." His German accent was thick as he said that. The vampire placed it in his breast pocket before he watched the Neko start to leave before the other male that was with them say that he may be needing her in the future. 'I wonder what that could be?' He thought before Julian turned his next question towards him. "Danke and it all depends on how I'm feeling but I usually do it once a week."

Ooc: I hope this is okay

Junko stopped in her tracks for a moment. She turned around. "Great. Later we can discuss in privacy." She said looking back at Julian. "I will see you guys around the bar, I guess." She said before disappearing down the stairs. She looked around after getting to the bottom of the stairs. She noticed the red head talking to a couple people. She was curious of what they were talking about. Her attention moved to her drink. She took a long sip, practically downing it. She sighed and moved to the bar. She set her glass on the table and asked for another. She looked around as she waited for her drink to be made. Who should she converse with, was her next question to herself.
Her ears twitched as she listened to conversations being had. When she heard her glass being set down on the counter, she turned around and took it off the counter. She took a sip and looked around for her next possible clientele. Maybe having a third or fourth possible clientele would be good for her business. She sighed as she waited for the red head to leave the two he was talking to. The girl seemed like a good possibility. Who else could she persuade. She took another sip and decided to head toward the small group that were talking.

Kaleb was driving down the city streets looking for a hotel for a few weeks. He followed his twin to L.A from Berlin because he was told by one of the forest hags, that if he killed the one who caused the curse will make it go away. Suddenly, the vampire spotted Chris's deep purple bike. A smile crossed his lips as he pulled into the parking lot. After Kale hopped off, he started to head towards the entrance of the club. Before he could walk in he noticed a wolf pup digging through the trash. "Come on little one, there is much better things to eat," he said as he picked up Octavia from the garbage.

As Kaleb pulled up, Octavia perked her ears recognizing the sound of the motorcycle. When he picked her up, she looked up at him and was surprised to see her Uncle. She turned into her true form and said "Uncle Kaleb?" as she tilted her head a bit. She hugged him shivering from her excitement.

Octavia nods and says "I was able to get out through a nearby window in the back of the house. I got burned though while I tried to escape though. After that I lived in the woods until I felt it was safe to return." She said explaining it as best she could at her age.

Chernaev shot a look at the girl that appeared as though it should have struck her dead on the spot. His nostrils flared as he recognized the unmistakable scent of human blood. How dimwitted, or perhaps consumed by death-seeking decadent nihilism, must these cloddish Westerners be to knowingly hang about in a nightspot frequented by the bloodsucking undead? Chernaev’s red eyes narrowed and he smirked with predatory glee at the realization that a particularly juicy and stupid morsel had just fallen into his lap. He had better act fast before the rest of these evidently not very perceptive bloodsuckers decided to move in for the kill, if he wanted to grab himself an appropriate bargaining chip. “The only ‘catch,’ Madame, that Comrade General Volokoff offers to the undead masses is the security, pride and assurance of knowing that they have devoted their existences to a great cause, and that they take refuge in the strength of numbers that their comrades shall provide them with. I am merely a single man, but under the General’s benevolent, compassionate, fiercely courageous and visionary leadership, ‘preservation’ is the very least that vampire kind has to look forward to.” Chernaev grinned in lupine anticipation as his pale hand shot out and seized the girl by the scruff of the neck. His clawed fingers gripped her with a frightening and indomitable strength that seemed strikingly at odds with his lithe, boyishly youthful appearance. The hulking Krakovsky noticed immediately on the other side of the room that his compatriot was restraining a target, and lurched across the floor at a surprising speed, shoving various frightened patrons aside until he was standing directly behind the helpless maiden. Chernaev flashed a cunning, conspiratorial grin at the German vampire he had been trying to persuade. “Perhaps, my friend, you might be more amenable to discussing things with us over the very freshest refreshment available?”

Not that far away inside the club, another young man was waiting, leaning against the back wall, looking down at his feet in every effort to appear inconspicuous, bathed in shadow. He was especially inconspicuous because anyone who might have happened to have been looking at that spot would have been baffled and shocked to see that rather than walking over and coming to a stop, he had seemingly materialized into existence out of thin air, emerging from the darkness as if a light had randomly illuminated him.
His pallid, sun-deprived, somewhat sickly face was as totally blank and expressionless as a statue. His strange blue-grey eyes stared blankly into space without the slightest trace of emotion, so cold and utterly devoid of any spark of human warmth or personality they might as well have been made of cut glass, peering through the limp locks of the lank black hair that hung over his wan, waxy features.
Jurgen Hoffmanstahl seemed to be staring at nothing, but his eerily fixed and unblinking eyes were nonetheless registering every person who walked past. He knew that in this club and in this city, statistically the chances were very high that a goodly portion of them were not what they appeared to be; that they were not, in fact, human at all. He was able to intuit this very well, because neither was he. Or at least, not any more.
Not for the length of an entire lifetime. He raised his head just as a young woman walked by. The proof of Hoffmanstahl’s superbly analytical glance was that noticed immediately the strange physiology that identified her immediately as something not quite human. And for that reason, he knew that he must take action.
Quite suddenly, he reached out and gently but firmly placed one hand on the her shoulder as she walked by. “Guten abend, Liebe Fraulein. I do beg your pardon,” he said. His distinctly German accented voice was flat, monotone, and almost totally devoid of emotion. The sound of it would have been enough to chill any normal person’s blood for reasons they could not adequately explain. “I apologize sincerely for this intrusion. But I was wondering if I might humbly request the privilege of speaking to you for just a moment or two.”

Laine Stiles

The redhead's alarming grin sent shivered up her spine and she wondered if he had the impulse to display violence in this public area. Half of the patrons in this joint were either inebriated or simply didn't care for a stray human such as herself. This redhead was sure cheeky in assuming that all the vampire races desired the same goal, but perhaps he was correct in insinuating. Still, by the way he gushed about this general, General Volokoff, it sounded like he had a hard on for him. She would have rolled her eyes in annoyance but knew that provoking him any further was basically asking for death. Suddenly, his pale hand shot out and gripped the scruff of her neck. His protruding nails dug into her delicate skin threating to draw blood. Despite his juvenile appearance, his supernatural strength surprised her. Although she winced from the pain, she restrained herself from screams or writhing about. For one, Laine knew she couldn't escape his clasp; and two, there was no since in making the few disturbed patrons that there were even more frightened. She had played with fire and gotten burned, but she refused to be completely submissive.

Clomping over to them, she noticed a massive figure taking his place behind her. In the corner of her vision, she saw that he was dressed in military attire and even brandished a sword. She couldn't make out all the little details due to the strobe lighting in the cub. However, his unmistable features and hulking frame instantly told her to advert his interest. From the sound of it, the redhead had been trying to recruit this man earlier but his attention wasn't peeked until now. Having a second chance over refreshments did sound delightful; if she wasn't the "refreshment". She choked out cockily, "If I would've know your dominance was shaken so easily I wouldn't have bothered questioning you. Still-" She paused as she winced uncomfortably again, "Causing an uproar in such a crowded place was a wrong move, Red." She coughed out a laugh wondering if she was just a glutton for punishment.

Luckily, the goth seemed to defend her as he stepped forward ready to tear the two apart. The cold of his hand left hers numb, but she secretly didn't want to lose that feeling. The goth asserted himself as the more aggressive vampire among the two by revealing his elongated fangs and changing red eyes. The subtle transformation caused her eyes to widened, not in fear but pure fascination. He was determined to get these two creeps off of her, but why was he protecting her? Shouldn't he detest humans like these to miscreants? If she hadn't been so insolent and walked into the club in the first place none of this would be happening right now. Yet, being a human within this split world would enviably grapple with her safety as some point or another. For now she decided to shut her mouth, and let the events take their course. If she dies from her own hubris, she has no one to blame but herself.
