She'd thought that she'd heard something from down below, and maybe she had, but auras were difficult to pinpoint from this distance. She might have heard one of those squatters they were after at the base of the stairs, because it quickly became very obvious that the senshi was coming down towards them. Jadarite sucked in a breath but remained otherwise silent as the door swung open. Even with her eyes adjusting, it was difficult to make out too many details about the person that was coming after them in the relative darkness, but she squinted at him anyway, for about half a second, just enough to make out a unique silhouette with large pants, as well as plenty of heavy gold jewelry that glinted even with the light this low. Not someone she'd seen before, then. It wasn't surprising. Tangling with the enemy wasn't her business, so she avoided them whenever possible. Under other circumstances, she might have just run off even now, but that wasn't a good look with an ally beside her. Instead she stepped forwards, summoning her stapler to her hand for a bit of extra oomph as she swung a punch in his direction.

The beauty of auras is that it didn't take long to realise where they were, particularly when they were oh so close. While both women may have chosen a decent spot to hide, it wasn't possible to fully mask where they were courtesy of the chaotic pulse that rippled out from them. They might have seen him first but that didn't mean they could get the jump on him - a fact that Cris soon came to realise.
No sooner had she seen the find sparkle of gold than she had flicked her coin towards him. For any normal individual a smack to the face from one of her increased power would hurt more than the average coin. Yet just like his trinkets, her little coin glinted in the dim light as well and instead of a face, it was greeted with an abrupt and very loud 'smack' as his hand as it drove the coin into the wall.
The dilapidated building did not appreciate the sentiments, the wall splintering in response to the abuse.
"It would be advisable to work on your aim," he announced himself coolly.
The coin disappeared from beside him as it was summoned back to its owner. It should have come as no surprise that her features had morphed into something akin to irritation, that should have hit, why was this particular guy so 'fast'. Given she had never met a senshi before, she really should have given the database a much more detailed read to understand exactly what they were and what capabilities they had.
"Nice catch," she replied in similarly dark tone. "You're still outnumbered."
Not that she knew what Jada's fighting capabilities were, but the odds were in their favour, right?

So the coin was her weapon. It wasn't as useful as the blades of Captains and Generals, certainly, or even as solid as her own metal stapler, but it did at least seem to catch the senshi's attention for a moment. Jada stayed silent in the meantime. Under normal circumstances, she did not mind chatting a bit before things turned to violence in an attempt to get some sort of read on the type of person who she was up against, but here that did not seem necessary. This one was sarcastic and cold, with quick reflexes and quite a lot of power behind his blows. Did Jadarite want to go after him after seeing that? Not particularly. Her determination to get this energy right now instead of at another spot was fading quickly. She wouldn't disappoint Cristobalite, though, who was making her own threats. Perhaps if they both came at the senshi one of them could get a decent hit in? She stepped forwards, swinging the stapler towards his face again in the way she had been trained.

There was the second agent, he'd wondered where she had been hiding. His opinion of her weapon was likely to be much the same as her own; in terms of utility it was more 'useful' than a coin but not by much. The one thing it did have to its advantage was that it was at least heavier and therefore liable to pack a little more bunch if it hit.
Just as Jadarite leapt forward to take him on so too did Cris. With both of them coming at him at once and only limited options, he saw no value in casting his magic. After all, all they would have to do is wait out his shields until they fell down and then they would be able to wail on him as much as they wanted. Even if he had more experience than the pair, they could eventually overpower him - more importantly he had no experience with either of them and they might well know how to pack a proper punch.
...Not all Negaverse agents could fight, that was for sure, but they did have considerably more chances to learn than the Order did.
No, rather than run the risk of being outnumbered and outgunned he was going to have to play by his rules. First step was to even the odds...
To achieve this he had no other choice than to let Jadarite strike him, still a solid blow given both her training and powered state, and enough for him to see 'stars'. His ears would likely ring for a little while yet but he had no time to waste and as the brown haired woman came flying towards him he threw up both arms against the walls, lifted himself up and kicked hard.
It was a blow that landed squarely against the newer agent's chest, stopped her dead in her tracks and flung her backwards with enough force to shatter the window on the stares behind her and send her careening to the street below - she might be back, but she'd have to catch her fall first.
...As for Jadarite though?
Well, she had another opportunity to assault him with her stapler if she wanted to. Given the reflexes chaos gave her she should have had enough time to attack him as he landed, whether or not she would take that opening was yet to be seen. Safe to say that she had left a fairly nice bruise on his cheek though given that the skin was already darkening and it was beginning to swell - at least she had something to show from this encounter heh.

Cris seemed capable of taking a hint. Their coordinated attack went off. For as long as Jadarite kept her eyes on the senshi's face, it seemed like the attack was going well. The stapeler slammed directly into his cheekbone. That was a more direct hit than she'd managed on an actual opponent in some time. Whatever satisfaction came out of that, though, was quickly destroyed by watching the man kick the other Lieutenant out of a window. Jada's head snapped sideways. Her eyes wend wide behind her glasses. Her jaw dropped half an inch. It wasn't that she was surprised by the increased strength and speed of powered individuals. She'd had plenty of time to get used to the concept of that, and even to see it in action. However, she hadn't fought on the second floor of a building before, and she hadn't considered the disadvantages that might come with that. There was a second there when she could have attacked the senshi again, but instead she took that time to recalculate. She was currently alone with this senshi who had more magical power than she did as well as impressive reflexes. At this point, the commotion almost certainly had scared off whoever they were originally after. She saw no point in fighting for this empty house, and possibly getting injured for it. As fast as she could, she made for the same window and jumped.

Did he follow? No, on this occasion it seemed pointless. He didn't know at which point they could teleport and given one had been unceremoniously thrown out of the building and the other had thought better of continuing this dance, there was a high probability of both simply teleporting away. In hindsight, he probably should have done significantly more research on that.
Nevertheless while Jada's musings were unknown to him he was of the same mind. The sudden uproar and the loud bangs above their heads were likely to have sent those who sheltered in this building running. They might come back in a few hours, but for now they were likely to have scattered and his continued presence was all but meaningless.
Thus it was with a shake of his head that he turned on his heel and began to walk back up the stairs again. Once on the rooftop he slipped away as subtlety as one could in a 'costume' and resumed his patrols.
As for Cris...? Well, she had managed to at least roll herself back on to her feet and stagger in to an alleyway out of sight for the time being. She was winded and badly bruised from her fall, but miraculously she hadn't broken anything. The only genuine wounds were to her pride and she was already peering towards Jada as she descended from the window.
"We've got a database right?" she asked coolly and narrowed her eyes. "You wouldn't mind showing me how to use it would you?" she continued and took a deep breath. "Though it can wait until we're in a more appropriate spot," she finished.
Easier pickings would be appreciated for the remainder of the evening until she started smarting but it would be the slightly slower method. Not that she had a choice, but she supposed it would give the pair time to 'bond' while she attempted to meet her quota. stari_maga I wouldn't be either, I'm with her on this one.
We can imply they've walked off to continue their hunt etc if you like and draw this one to a close? <3
