Gismondine swallowed hard and gave a little smile. “Y-yeah? Really?”
Oh. Xander was going to be in this with him...He knew that his boyfriend would have a better outfit, and he would get things explained better to him and. “Oh! I’m so excited!”
The lieutenant threw his arms around Xander and kissed him lightly on the lips, then took full, shameless advantage of his enhanced strength and lifted the male, spinning around in a quick circle. “L-let me find someone who can help! I’ll try my General first and...if she can’t help I’ll just…”
He set Xander down and pulled out his tablet, opening it and trying to figure out just how to contact someone that he didn’t know, and finally he found a name listed under General Sovereigns and clicked on the first one, Axinite.
Clearly that just meant they were Generals, so it was perfect.
He wrote up a quick note, tongue between his teeth.
Quote: ‘Hello! I’m so sorry to bother you, but I was hoping that you could help me! I’m Lieutenant Gismondine and I want to see if my friend can join us so that I’ll have someone who I can patrol with...if not, that’s perfectly okay, and again I’m so sorry to bother you! Thank you for your time! I hope that you’re well!’
There. That...that should do it. He hoped.
Gismondine hesitated and quickly wrote another message.
Quote: ‘I almost forgot! We’re in the east park about halfway down the long hiking trail! Thank you again! Sorry to be a bother!’
He looked at Xander and nodded. “Okay...I hope...he comes!”

“Woah… holy s**t I didn’t even know you were….strong enough to do that!” He admitted, amazed that Nelson, who didn’t seem especially ‘physical’ by nature. But he’d literally been swept off his feet. Damn, could you just cue in some Rom-Com music here? “That was … really impressive, kinda “I mean if we get to do more of that how could I refuse!” “So um… I should probably have asked how this works, you said they like… got you into this but you did like, a magical-person costume change there. How does that even work? He said mystified. “Are they gonna, swing in here on some kinda skyhook?” “Um… what do we do if they don’t…come?” He added cautiously. “I don’t get you in trouble do I?”

Gismondine looked startled, as though the thought hadn’t come into his mind. “...If...if they don’t come then I’ll send a message to the next one on the list! I...I don’t...I don’t think I’ll get into trouble…”
But...he didn’t really know, now did he.
Worry began to seep into his veins and he shook his head slightly, trying to focus. “Yeah, super strength is kind of standard for when you join up! It’s really cool! You hardly weigh anything at all!”
The lieutenant worried his lip and looked around, hesitating and hoping that this Axinite would show up...He didn’t want to look like a fool...and he also...also didn’t want to get into trouble...that hadn’t ever crossed his mind.
...Though he would have talked to Yu about this if…
If he had heard from him lately...

“Dang… Imagine if Holden’s brother got into one of those Buttler Costumes.” Xander said looking something between impressed and a bit afraid. “So… um…what else should I ask about other than you get… really strong?” He asked curiously. “And um, that I will be punching people in the face if they try and hurt you.” He added. “Like… should, I worry that your mentor is….” He stopped himself before he finished the thought. He didn’t want poor Nelson freaking out the way that he half wanted to. Because …s**t, there was a chance that this ‘Yu’ fellow could be dead if Nelson was already having such a hard time.

It wasn't often that Axinite received a direct message like this on the tablet, but given that he'd just finished one report and was between tasks, naturally he gave it a little extra attention. It was sweet, in its own way. Polite. Respectful. He had just been in the process of pulling up the GPS on the tablet when he got the second message. He rose from his desk, stretched, and teleported; he knew the area well enough, and when he found a lieutenant's energy signature, he just teleported to it. Axinite was not particularly tall, but what he lacked in size and build he made up for in presence. His face was soft but there was a raw power that followed him, and while Gismodine might feel it, the civilian next to him wouldn't. Yet. "Lieutenant Gismodine," he greeted, and glanced between the two of them, sharing a polite smile. "Your message was so polite. Was your General unavailable?"

Gismondine tilted his head at Xander. “My mentor is--” And then suddenly there was the feeling of someone very strong near him and a new voice and he yelped out of pure and utter surprise. “Oh! Oh hello! Yes, yes that’s me! You’re Axinite? I...I’m not sure where my General or Captain are...I...it’s been a while since I’ve heard from either! It’s very nice to meet you, I’m so sorry to be a bother, but…”
You were the first name that popped up.
He reached out and drew Xander close. “This is Xander! He’s very brave and wants to um...wants to join up with us, if that’s all right? I...don’t know how to do it, I...I mean when I joined it was...It was a little intense and then I almost got killed but you...I…”
Breathe. He had to remember to breathe.
His pupils were dilated like a frightened deer and he drew in a shuddering breath, forcing himself to quiet. “...Thank you for coming, sir. Xander...say hello!”

Okay- whomever this was seemed to make Nelson errr -scratch that ‘Gizmodine?’ - well they made him start stuttering like he’d been called to present in front of the whole class. Also- where had he even come from?! “Ah- um, yeah, HI! Xander - n-nice to meet you... Sir?” The return to ‘nearly died’ made him wonder again if the ‘mentor’ and ‘general’ might be casualties- made him wonder a bit of he wasn’t in over his head. But if he was, then Nelson certainly was. He couldn’t let Nelson face this alone. Someone had to be there with him. Someone that -knew- him. Plus, if people were dying then he would need whatever he could get to protect the people important to him. People like Nelson, people like Jace... Also, if they recruited Nelson, it wasn’t like Nelson would join something awful.

Axinite smiled at the two of them. "Oh, you both have such nice manners." Were nice manners enough to warrant someone's acceptance into the Negaverse? Not on their own, but he supposed Gismondine must have made it in on some merit, and now he'd gone and was trying to recruit someone else. Still just a lieutenant, he probably had no idea what to look for in a proper agent. ...But, given that he'd already gone out and told someone about this, it meant that he had few options. The first, consider his selection, and the second, pull his starseed and hope Gismondine would understand. Axinite was not so heartless, though. "I'll have to look into your Captain and General, Gismondine. They should be checking in regularly. Don't worry about bothering me, I'm happy you called me." He turned to Xander. "You're very brave, are you? And you want to protect your friend?" He debated for a moment, and then nodded. "Come closer, then. Let's see if you have any power in you worth awakening. It might be a little unpleasant. Are you sure you want to do this?" It wasn't quite a test; Axinite already suspected he'd go through with this and see what sort of agent he could make, but a good answer never hurt anyone.

“Oh! Thank you sir, They...I mean.” He rubbed the back of his head, swallowing. “They normally do! My Captain does a lot, but he’s been quiet for a little while...I’m kind of worried. His name is Parisite, and my General...I mean, I guess she’s my General...she’s not who brought me in...that was...He just. He wanted me to just be a distraction for a um...for a senshi who was trying to kill him...b-but then he got killed so um...I’m alive still!”
He swallowed and resisted biting down on his tongue to get himself to just shut up.
“A-anyway! My General now is General Cavansite, and she’s very good with checking in too...but...she has been busy, I guess! Or um. They both got killed by the Cinnamon b*****d…”
He didn’t ask for your life story, Gismondine, he doesn’t care that much, and he’s here for Xander not you. The lieutenant swallowed again and looked away, his eyes lingering on a rock that sat alongside the path they were on.
...It was a nice rock.

“Cinnamon…b*****d.” He repeated to himself. “Is that a… formal name?” He asked glancing at Gizmondine. “Bu… but Yes sir, I want to protect my friend. He hasn’t told me a lot but, sounds like maybe it’d be better with someone who could match his schedule… sir.” He swallowed hard and stepped cautiously forward. He had no idea what the heck this ‘power worth awakening’ was, but… maybe it was part of that weird, Nelson to super Buttler change. That would make sense, right? “Not sure about brave, but maybe I’ve got just enough stubborn to make up for it - Sir.” He added. Hell, he’d survived the farm more than once, how much worse could this be?

Axinite's smile faded somewhat, and it was clear that he took this concern to heart. He recovered quickly and the smile returned. "I'm sure they're fine, Gismondine. These things happen sometimes, life gets in the way. I'll look into this Cinnamon issue. If they're busy, I'll see about finding you someone to take their place for the time being." There was a sharp pounding in his chest, a painful throb, and he wanted to check on Cavansite now. She had softened once. She had recovered. She had proved herself. She would not betray him. She would not have fallen in battle. "Come," he said, eager now to get this over with but doing his best to hide the way the suspicion and doubt had gripped his starseed, the way it made his hand tremble as he placed it on Xander's chest. He was an expert at this, and a little shaken nerves weren't going to impact him. He let his hand slide into Xander's chest, and though it lacked his usual patience it was no less graceful. It was safer then, with his trembling hand hidden in the pocket dimension in his chest. He found the starseed easily, gripped it gently--and he knew. He knew as soon as he held it in his hands, before he'd even had the chance to push the Chaos into it. "You're a Senshi," he announced, only immediately afterwards aware that this knowledge would mean nothing to Xander. His eyes slipped to Gismondine. "...A stroke of luck, then. You would have needed me for this, anyway." His attention returned to Xander. "All power comes with a price. I'm sorry. You'll be better off, though. If you care for your friend, you must endure." His fingers cradled the starseed, protected it, but he pushed the Chaos into him. It was never pleasant, he knew that. But, power was earned. Power was won. Power was painful.

Gismondine watched as the orange haired General...King? As his hand slid into Xander’s chest and he winced, remembering how much that had hurt when it happened. He had forgotten that after the whole...nearly being choked to death…
Hesitating, he moved closer to Xander, biting his lip and wanting to reach out, though not knowing if he should...when...when it was over he could comfort the male. But...at least...he hadn’t wasted Axinite’s time! That was very good to know.
“A...senshi? That...that’s pretty special?” If he could sound a little more sure of himself, that would be great but…
He would learn. He was sure of it.
Gismondine’s eyes were on Xander, watching as he changed. As he became someone new.

“A what now?” Xander asked before his eyes widened as the hand that was briefly pressed to his chest, sank into it. But oh… it HURT. It hurt in unreachable places that had somehow been reached all the same. He couldn’t help the sound of pain he made, though he tried hard to keep it in for Nelson… Gizmodine’s benefit. Something in him surged awareness and he changed, Black and Red and long red petals made of fabric. He didn’t have a weapon, he was, something else. Stranger still, his hair had grown. Somehow that felt stranger than the fact he’d just changed clothes and had a hand stabbing pain into something deep in his chest. “Ow?” He said very cautiously.

Axinite let his hand linger in the Senshi's chest for a moment, as if by doing so he could hear the Senshi name, the Sphere. It didn't come, of course. He'd need to find a cat, need to add this to the report. His mind felt scattered but he kept the pleasant outward expression. It wasn't any good letting them sense that something was wrong. "Being a Senshi is very special, yes." It was a fluke, just luck, he knew, but he praised, regardless. "I'm very proud of you, Gismondine." Reluctantly, he with drew his hand. It was still shaking, but he was certain that the Senshi would find more comfort without the intrusion. "I can imagine you've already explained the Negaverse to your friend. Senshi are a bit different in the grand scheme of things. Have you met a Mauvian, Gismondine?" He had no doubt that his companion hadn't. "They're remarkable creatures. Very useful in identifying Senshi powers. Give me just a moment, I'll have one here to help us. In the meantime, I've got some treats." He reached into subspace without much thought and produced a small, cellophane bag with an assortment of cookies and an orange, and an energy drink. He held them out to the new Senshi. "I know it's an unpleasant experience. But you've survived, and you're stronger for it. I cannot promise this will be an easy path, but it will be a worthwhile one." He was tired. These things sometimes felt like they took so much out of him, and it was his own fault for being so negligent with his sleep schedule. Without much thought, he drew a second bag and drink for Gismondine and passed it over, even as he mustered up the energy to summon a Mauvian to them.

Soyala would not have admitted it, but when Axinite called for her, she was lazing. She had splayed out on Idrialite's desk--empty more often, now, which both pleased and concerned her in different measures--and slept, like the idle thing she could afford to be when she got a moment. But as she stirred awake from her impromptu nap, she had felt the tug of the summoning, and it made her perk up, shake her whole body, and go.
When she arrived, she looked every bit the prim, professional princess she wanted to be perceived as, and she hopped up on Axinite's shoulders, surveying the officer and Senshi before her.
"Hello, Axinite. What can I help with?" She asked, gently rubbing her cheek against his. "And I don't think I know either of you. Hello, my name is Soyala, a Mauvian serving the Negaverse."
