"Rin," he scolded again, but he kept touching the coat, admiring it. "...Really, I should be thanking you. Not for just the coat--which, again, thank you--but because I don't know if I had as much, you know. 'Going out' at night, before I met you. It was all business, all boring, all alone, for the most part. I can't say I know what I'm doing any more now, but it's nice to know that I can look forward to your company. And that if anything was going on, I feel like I could trust you. And I'd have your back, if you needed it. But you don't have to dress me up for that. Although, I think you have impeccable taste."
He had to force his eyes away from the sleeve of the jacket, but he didn't seem unhappy to be looking at her again.
Oblivious, in his own way. He only saw what he was looking for, maybe.
"How's your drink?"

While he 'scolded' her, Rin took another drink and shrugged at his words. "....I want to make sure you don't get si-" she got interrupted by a sudden sneeze. Her hands flew to her mouth to try to cover it in time. "Choo!" It was a short, small one, and she ended up rubbing her nose after before clearing her throat. "It's good! Sorry about that." Rin went back to stirring her drink with her straw. "It's not overly sweet, which isn't a bad thing. How's your drink?" The need to sneeze built up again and this time she was too slow. Rin didn't see it, but the first few snowflakes drifted off from her with this one. "Aaah... I'm sorry. I don't usually sneeze a lot. Guess it's what I get for having a cold drink on a cold day, huh?" She huffed and cleared her throat a little before fiddling with her cup again. If her cheeks could get any more red, she'd probably look like a lobster.

Leander blinked, not immediately worried about the sneezing until it happened again.
Two sneezes weren't alarming.
Sneezing, and snowflakes, however, were.
"Hey," he said slowly, distracted by this oddness. "I wouldn't worry about me being cold. I'm okay." Better, now, with the coat, that he was immediately in love with. "--Did you just...sneeze snowflakes?" he asked, worried that she had somehow chilled, inside and out, while waiting for him to show up.

"D...Did I what?" She gave him a wary look, almost as if he'd grown two heads. Why did that surprise her? Given their night jobs, they'd seen worse things than sneezing snowflakes but at the same time that was absolutely absurd! "....You feeling okay? Seeing thin-" Another sneeze, and this time she opened her eye in time to spot those snowflakes he was talking about. Her mouth hung open and she stared at them as they floated in the air and then seemed to harmlessly disappear, melting, probably, in the air. Well that wasn't normal at all. "...Apparently I sneeze snowflakes...?" Was it that cold? She felt fight. She put a hand to her forehead as if she could feel for her own fever.

Leander watched her for a moment and looked like he might take off his coat to give to her, but hesitated. "--Are you feeling all right? Do you have a fever?"
He waited, albeit briefly, for an answer, but it seemed like he was a little too worried. He glanced around, trying to see if this was some new affliction everyone in Destiny City was facing, or if it was just her.
"--Maybe we should get you home sooner rather than later, I don't want you to get sick."
Or to see her start sneezing icicles or something worse...

She shook her head, waving her hand in front of her before sniffling again. "No, no it's fine. I don't feel bad..." Honestly Rin didn't feel sick in the slightest bit. she felt more than fine. To prove it, she sipped at her drink some more and tried to hold back the sneezing that threatened. Instead it made her eyes water and she groaned and just let herself sneeze at least two more times. "..Is it the drink?" She asked, watching the snowflakes drift off after the tiniest little fit she had. That's all Rin could come up with. She sipped at her drink, then sneezed. "Here. Sip this." And she held it out expectantly to him.

He watched the snowflakes with mild concern; she seemed like she was doing fine but...
'Maybe you're allergic?" he asked, but he had never heard of an allergy that produced snowflakes, and there was no way of a human body actually being cold enough to produce snowflakes. He took a sip of her drink without delay and waited. And waited.
For the longest moment, all he could pick up on was the fact that the drink tasted nice.
He opened his mouth to tell her that he wasn't sure it was the drink when he suddenly felt the sharp tickle and had to turn his head away.
He sneezed snowflakes. He felt them in his hand, cold, and melting almost instantly. Three made it past his fingers.
"...What," he asked flatly, with no real expectation of an answer.
"...It is the drink?"

She sniffled a little as he sneezed and then looked amused at him. Well that... that was sort of adorable, wasn't it? Rin bit her lip and just gave him a look when he confirmed it was the drink. "....It's not anything relating to work." She didn't sense chaos vibes or anything. It was so weird. "Think it's as harmless as it seems?" She took her drink back and went so far as to pop the top off to look inside. Maybe a shimmer of magic? No, it looked completely ordinary. "How weird.." Putting the lid back on, she took a sip at it and almost instantly sneezed when her throat was clear of the liquid. At least she could catch it this time. Having turned her head to sneeze into her hand.

"I don't know. Things are usually as harmless as they seem, but..."
He debated and pursed his lips together, looking a little helpless at the situation. "This place has good reviews. Nobody's gone to the hospital or reported anything strange or the news would have been all over it. Or, at least the oddities blogs. I mean, if you feel like you're okay, I..."
He debated.
"...I mean, it's not like snowflakes ever killed anyone, I guess? The drink was pretty good."
Worth snowflakes in the lungs? He wasn't sure. He sipped at his own drink, but it seemed too warm for snowflakes.
...He wasn't complaining about that, at least.

If nothing else, this was a very entertaining friend date. She was enjoying it quite a lot. Sneezes included. After a fit since she took a large drink, Rin tipped her head back and laughed a little. "I just wondered if I sneezed enough and caught the flakes, if I could make a tiny snowman..." Maybe the sugar was getting to her. But it just sent her giggling again as she said it. "Anyway... I'm glad the coat fits. I hope it keeps you warmer. Winter seems to have come a bit late, but... I'm sure it'll stick around." It was getting later, Rin knew, and they both had things planned for the evening, she was almost sure. Rin was going to spend hours pouring through ads for the perfect feline companion. Leander, who knew what he did. He was sort of mysterious.

"It always does, well past its welcome. But thank you, again. I love it," he admitted--but still watched her cautiously, just in case. "--You're brave to still go at it," he said, but couldn't help but laugh a bit.
He shook his head. "When you get home, just make sure you take a warm shower or something, melt out any snowflakes that might be hanging around, all right? I'd feel bad if you somehow did get sick from this."
...Even if it had been fun.
The adult in him told him to be wary. The kid in him told him to enjoy it.
There weren't so many little magics in the world that seemed so harmless and fun.

"I was planning on it and then some heating blanket time," she admitted, feeling more relaxed about the whole thing. So far she wasn't freezing from the inside or anything, but Rin had been around weird magics to completely relax. "As for the drink, I might not finish it, but it's really good. Not sure if I'd get it again." Mainly because of the sneezing. She hadn't done it in years and this was by far the most she'd ever sneezed in her life. It had to be. Not even colds had her like this, but that was fine. For now. "I'll text you again for a meet up if you don't text me first. ...I'm really... I'm honestly glad you're my friend. It's been nice.."

Leander watched for a minute longer and then shook his head, smile still planted on his face even through his knit brows. "Yeah, I enjoyed this," he said, and he probably could have spared a little more time if he hadn't been worried that she might get seriously sick. "Text me when you get home, too, okay? ...And when those sneezes stop. I'll have to go online and see if I can find anyone else saying anything about something like this, just in case. I'll worry about you until I have an answer and know you're doing well."

"Mm, I will." Rin stood up and started gathering her things again; her purse, the box, her cup. With everything packed up, she gave Leander another little smile. "See you around, Leander. Until... tonight. Who knows." With that and a tiny shrug, the small woman wandered toward the doors again, tossing her cup and the now empty box in the nearest garbage can. Rin would wave one more time before pushing the door open and wandering out to go finish what she needed to do.
