That was brilliant you used your magic as if it were a literal extra limb. Household magic isn't always about it being done completely by magic. It can be just to make the job easier.
When Vivian went to her closet she cringed. That is where she shove stuff when she didn't want to mess with it. She was kinda happy that Vivian was folding her stuff. Less work for her , but not the point.
What do you mean you can't do this. You work so well with your magic it's incredible. It doesn't matter if you use your hands, you work with your magic as if it were actually another limb. I don't have that coordination. It's either all magic or all hands for me. Give yourself more credit.

She didn't even use magic, right? She was so focused on her cleaning that she didn't really notice. She looked at Lavi. "But, I didn't use magic right? I was just cleaning up around here. Nothing was floating or being put away without me touching it...I don't get it." she said, clearly not believing in herself or what Lavi was saying. You need to believe in yourself a little more. There has got to be a way I can show you how good your magic is.

She ran over to her dresser throwing stuff out of the way before she found a robe sash and ran back over to Vivi.
If you let me tie one of your hands down maybe your magic will try to compensate for the lack of another hand ?

Lavi winced when she said she was cuffed earlier.
Maybe I shouldn't do this. But I need to prove that she can do magic. She needs that confidence boost
It's not even going around your wrist. I'm going to tie it around your forearm
She tied the sash tight enough to be a hindrance to move her hand but not enough where it would hurt or she couldn't get out if she really tried. She walked over to her dresser where there were some clothes that we folded neatly and took them out and spread them one the bed making a mess.
Now try folding them with one physical hand and one magical hand. I feel like your magic is more helping magic then doing it magic.

She tried to pull on it, but, as expected, she couldn't move it very well unless she tried. She looked over at the clothes. She gulped a bit and then knelt down to the clothes. First, she started to sort them by shirts, pants, socks, unmentionables, and so on. As she did, she'd point at the clothes and they would float around her as she carefully folded the clothes loosely with one hand. She just kept going until she stopped...and looked up. Sure enough, some of the clothes were floating. She looked at Lavi, then the clothes, and back to Lavi. "Am...am I doing-?" as soon as she questioned it, all the clothes fell onto the floor. Vivian looked at them as they fell and her eyes went huge. The realization that she did that unconsciously was setting in. A small smile crossed her face. She could...lift things. With her magic. She took in a breath and continued to fold the clothes, picking clothes out of the air and folding them carefully as she went. Soon, everything was folded and back in its place. "I...I did it...and...i-it was so easy!" ☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲☲

Lavi watched in amazement as Vivian was folding the clothes and using magic.
You're doing it. See I told you, you could do it. And it looked so natural too.
She said jumping up and down in excitement. She ran over and released Vivian's other hand.
I'm so proud of you. You could have easily given up or tell me how ridiculous my plan was and refuse to do it. But no you did it. All on your own I can't even explain how proud I am of you. Now you just have to practice it. Like putting books away without touching them and just little things until you get better control of it.
She squealed in delight.
Did I mention how excited I am for you cause I'm really excited for you.

All her life she was told that she couldn't do this or that. Being encouraged to actually do something was different and it felt good. She'd never learned magic before and seeing even doing something like this. Now she felt...good. She felt like cleaning the mess that her room was was going to be easier now. "Th-thank you Lavi...thank you..." she covered her mouth with her hand and closed her eyes as tears formed. "I...I couldn't have done it without you...!!" she mumbled and then started bawling. There was a lot of emotion going on with her, and it was harder to keep it in. I think you underestimate yourself. You would have gotten there eventually. I just speed up the progress.
She walked over to Vivian kneeling down so she could look up at her.
Are these happy tears are sad tears? You've accomplished so much today I want you to be happy.
She said resting her head on the edge of the bed. She reached back and grabbed the candy bowl putting above her head before eating one while she sat quietly with her.

She had so much happened to her she couldn't really control herself. She sniffled and looked at Lavi. "I...I think both...I'm happy I am not as...u-useless as I th-thought...it felt g-good to finally do something...right...and then...I remember what happened today...and everything came back to me...I don't know...I don't know how to feel right now Lavi...I just want to be happy..." she sobbed and covered her face up again. She tried to calm herself down with some breathing, but it was not doing too much. "I'm so confused...I'm scared...I'm happy...I'm exhausted...I'm nauseous...in pain...there is so much going on with me Lavi...so much...why can't things just be normal...?" she kept crying for a bit and hiccuped as she was slowly stopping herself, trying again to breathe. She rubbed Vivian's back from her kneeling position comforting. She didn't know what to say at first. Then she remembered a speech she heard some say to her.
Sweetie it's fine to feel tired, happy, scared and confused. You are a complex person. Complex people come with complex emotions. If you felt nothing it would be sadder. If you want to talk about what you're feeling thoroughly I'm here for you. We can take it one problem at a time. We already solved the mystery of your magic. I mean you are to proficient at what you do to realize you had it in you.
She held Vivian's hand with her other hand
Think about that you were too good to need the magic so it laid there waiting for a hinderance so it could be useful. Besides who wants to be normal that's just a setting. No one should feel normal that's to... what's the complacent sounding

She was right, in a sense. Normal was just a setting on a dryer...and she would never be that vanilla. She looked at her wet hands and sighed, trying to calm herself down again. "I-I know. I'm so overwhelmed right now. There is a lot going on in my head. So much it's like my head is swirling...I know I'm...okay at magic and I can at least use it. But that doesn't explain why my locator spells never worked. I tried them and they...they didn't work...then there's everything with Magi and I-" then she heard the knock on the door. She covered her mouth as she screamed, remembering that that's exactly how Magi forced his way into the room a few hours ago. "Lavi, you said no one ever visits you!? She was listening to Vivian about to comment when she heard a knock on the door followed by Saffron's voice. She looked at Vivian questioningly. "I normally don't" She got up and answered the door. "Oh hi Professor. Don't worry Vivian it's only Professor Saffron We were just having a girl's night. Did you want to join us?"She said smiling at the professor moving aside to let her in."We have candy and fizzy drinks. I wanted to have some kind of wine, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed so I didn't get any" She said looking around at her messy room. "Don't mind the mess."

Saffron raised an eyebrow at the two of them confused. "A girls night? I don't really do that kind of thing...I just wanted to warn you about the things that might be coming your way. You heard about the dead student didn't you?" Saffron's concern was real in her voice. Her face was covered in smeared make up and she was clearly not having a great night either. "I need you guys to stay safe... I'm just making sure the staff is all on alert. I could probably use some help getting the students back to their rooms safely but it looks like Vivian should have your attention here." Saffron held out her hand and placed it on Lavi's shoulder. "You are a wonderful person. You should always keep being there for people in these times. I can't imagine Vivian is okay considering this started in the library. Let me know if I can get you guys anything..."
