[Enya ll 6]

Remembering it? That sounded so weird! How could she forget a necklace? Enya's little fingers glided over the thicker, jazzed edges of the larger blue crystals before finding the little beads in the middle and massaging them. The difference in textures was enough to occupy the child, at least for the time being.

"How come you didn't have a sister like you?" It wasn't asked out of meanness, but in the frankness of a child it could have been taken that way. While Enya had already seen a few only children she still didn't really care for it. Anytime she was scared or bored she always had Pyanka. If Mio-yo's sister was so much littler than her then it would have been sad for a long time.

[Pyrrha ll 6]

"The toads helped me to find different places around the island to make shrines. I could take you to them if you'd like; the vines are perfect for praying." This island had such positive energy that it was almost intoxicating. It hadn't been hard at all for Pyrrha to find spots for her 'shrines', and although she wasn't able to visit as frequently as she wanted over the years because of the girls she tried her best to keep them up.

"Oh yes, very much." Pyrrha admitted with a wistful sort of ease. "I had friends, though very few, and it still never filled the void. Even now it calls me..." Looking at her daughter kept the bad thoughts away, but they still visited, from time to time. "My mothers are back in Zinris, as are my sisters...I pray for them, too, to find peace and happiness. I wish they could be here to share in the family Kanika gave me, but the stars gave us a different path."

What would they make of her? Would they be happy that Pyrrha had finally found herself in life, or upset that it wasn't under their extremist views? And Pruu...Pyrrha couldn't think about her twin without her heart starting to ache.

Mio's cheeks flushed at Enya's frank and innocent question. "Well.. my mother prayed alone for me.. and I was still young when we left Yael... I guess Elzira may have known that Kasumi was waiting for us here." She gave a small smile. She had never thought of it that way before, but she suddenly found comfort in the idea that they were meant to be together even though different.

"The toads?" She gave a confused smile, but it shifted quickly into a smile of awe. If anyone could find good hidden places for praying, the creatures of the isles would be the ones to follow! Maybe if she had animal helpers, she would feel less lonely... Speaking of which, Pyrrha's response was a little bit of a surprise. "Your whole family.. I'm sorry to hear that," she murmured sympathetically. At least she had her mother still. Her antennae wiggled slightly with an optimistic thought. "But, there has been so much talk about peace.. Maybe they will come visit you, or you could go visit them soon?"

[Enya ll 7]

"Oh, like Nayyara." Her aunt had asked for her cousin alone and that's why she didn't have a sister. She flipped the necklace over in her hand as she thought about what that must be like. Honestly, she'd never really thought about it before because her cousin just was, but now she wondered if she was lonely by herself. Maybe she and Pyanka should go see her more so she wouldn't be on her own!

Holding the necklace up, the little Elidae presented the trinket back to it's owner. "Here, so you can keep 'membering." It would be pretty sad if she forgot; Enya always got upset every time she forgot something. Most of the other conversation went over her head, but she was able to pick up bits and pieces. "Toads talk to mama all the time. Toads and sticks and water and clouds."

[Pyrrha ll 7]

"Of course. They speak too, just in a different tongue~" Pyrrha watched as her daughter rattled off her little list and with a calming hand she reached up to rub the space between her little dreaded buns. "Life is in the rippling water, the vines beneath the soil, our blood...we are all connected even if we're apart." It was a bit of a stretch to think that by speaking with fish and stones that Aisha could hear her, but Pyrrha knew in her heart that it was so. It brought her comfort on the darkest of days and now that she was in an environment where others allowed her to do so she was able to pray often.

"Maybe. It would be nice to see my sister again and to show her my daughters, but I don't think.. I'll ever be able to go back. If she came to see me then I think she would be okay, but if I went to Zinris..." I would be killed. Even if peace had been reached Kou wouldn't allow Pyrrha to leave with her head, that much she was sure of.

"Who is Nayyara?" Surely it was another face that she had seen around but did not specifically know. It was almost surprising whenever she saw someone she didn't know, but it also happened often enough because she tended to keep to herself. Still, she was able to bring up a warm smile kept in reserve for younglings like a proper big sister. "You're very sweet, Enya," she said as she accepted the necklace back and hung it around her neck once more. It really was a relief to have the weight back on her..

An amused smile rose as talk went back to the toads. "I suppose you're right. I can't say that I've ever understood what they were telling me, but I do enjoy listening to everything." That was part of what made her world more bearable. Imagine being alone and hearing absolutely nothing!

Mio's brow knit slightly along with a slow nod. "I know I don't know your whole situation, but I think I understand. It would be nice to see my aunt again, but thinking about going back there is.. scary. I bet the only way I'll see her again is if she came here."

[Enya ll 8]

"Cousin." Enya answered softly. "She's older, but she's like me." Nayyara didn't look too much younger than Mio-yo, but she must have been because they didn't look alike. Maybe Mio-yo was really little when she came over with her mama? But that didn't seem right since her mothers told her that she couldn't go very far from the village until she was a lot bigger...

"Are you makin' baskets too?" Now that things had kind of settled Enya was focusing on earlier topics, ones that unbeknownst to her were only privy to her mother and herself.

[Pyrrha ll 8]

"I would be hard pressed to find someone on this island who doesn't understand." She smiled sadly and now that Enya wasn't clinging to her, Pyrrha moved to stand. The elarian was still as tall and willowy as ever, but now that she was allowed to be herself there was a softer edge. Something that made her eyes glow a little bit brighter and helped to fill in some of the edges around her bones. "You're never alone, Miovadi; if you ever want to talk we're all here to listen. Even this one." With a grin she reached down to smooth her fingers over her daughter's antennae.

Hearing Enya talk, however, made her purse her lips. "The elders wanted us to get some materials together for weaving, but it's so easy to become distracted out here. When the clouds sing to you it's rude not to listen."

Mio returned a sympathetic smile of her own. "You are right. The details may be different, but our stories are all similar enough. ..I like to believe this is why everything is working so well for us here with Esena's blessings." The sad smile quickly warmed with Pyrrha's assurances. "Thank you. Know that the same certainly goes for me as well. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask."

Her focus shifted to Enya again and she shook her head. "My task out here was to fill a basket rather than to make one. Is that what you are doing?" She couldn't help a little smirk. Enya hadn't looked like she'd had any thought on baskets when she'd been running around playing earlier.

Then her gaze was compelled to rise. If clouds did sing, could their voices truly be heard from so far away? "Distractions aplenty are out here. You've certainly distracted me enough!" She giggled lightly. "Not that I'm complaining. I am much happier to have bumped into both of you than had a full basket by now. Perhaps our next encounter will have a little less literal 'bumping,' hm?" She paused for a moment, a look of uncertain hope flicking across her features. "..Would you like an extra hand collecting what is needed for weaving?"

[Enya ll 9]

At first she wasn't really going to answer. Enya screwed up her mouth, curling her lower lip over the bottom as she turned her toes in the mud. "I'm ...helping." She answered slowly, very clearly lying. The child couldn't even make eye contact! Of course she hadn't done anything of the sort; she'd been far too distracted with running through the reeds to even bother contemplating picking them.

"...Runnings better." Finally, the little one admitted the truth and only then she did bother to look up at Mio-yo with a little devilish grin.

[Pyrrha ll 9]

Pyrrha couldn't help reaching out and giving her little wisp of a child a peck on the cheek. She really was too cute when she was trying to 'stay in line'. Honestly, Pyrrha couldn't care less if she helped or not; she'd much prefer her daughters to run free in their home, happy as little birds in flight.

"If we help each other the work should go by much faster. I wouldn't want you to waste your efforts on our job without completing your own." Pyrrha looked about her and was happy enough to see that at least the majority of reeds hadn't been trampled by her daughter's eager feet. When she turned back to Miovadi she was all smiles. "Besides, if we get in trouble I'll take the blame; I've had enough practice that it doesn't bother me anymore."

Even Mio could tell a fib was happening, but she couldn't help a little chuckle. The admission that followed caught her by surprise, but she just smiled and nodded in return. Enya was just so adorable! "I like running, too."

Mio chewed on her lip a moment, working to decipher what Pyrrha was saying. Was that an offer or was she being turned down? After another moment, she shook her head. "My own chore will not take long I know exactly where to go for the fruits I am collecting. It would be no trouble at all to take a little time to assist you both." She toed at the ground bashfully. "Actually.. I would be happy to help.. if you wouldn't mind."

[Pyrrha ll 10]

"Ah, well, I guess you wouldn't really need the help then." Still, it was good enough to offer, especially since Miovadi had offered her services as well. Maybe if she was on her own she could focus better and be back before anyone started to get suspicious. Pyrrha, on the other hand, likely wouldn't return until the sun started to set.

"Still, you're welcome to help us. We're just collecting reeds for weaving so whichever you see around that are sturdy and thick enough will do." It wasn't as if this was the most important job in the area at the moment, but it was suitable work, all the same.

[Enya ll 10]

Now that her mother was getting back to work Enya knew she was going to have to focus too. Walking up to a thick reed she wrapped her hands around the base and pulled, tugging with all of her might...only to have it go absolutely no where. Scrunching her face up, Enya tried again, from another angle and was frustrated when the result was the same.

Of course she didn't notice that her mother was just cutting the reeds with a small dagger; in her mind she was pulling them out of the ground by the root! "Mio-yo help! It's stuck."

Mio smiled brightly as she followed after the pair deeper into the reeds. Some may have been bent by the scampering feet, but that also gave her a path to start following to keep track of her progress. Her antennae perked slightly at the call, and she walked over quickly to look. Giggling lightly, Mio knelt next to the youngling. Why was Enya so much easier to relax with than her own sister? "Here, like this.."
