He did not like what this world did to him.
For people more mentally secure than him, this probably would've been a great opportunity to bolster their courage, display perseverance in the face of a difficult situation, rally enemies and allies to fight for something that would benefit them all, be optimistic about what the future may bring. Narcissus had thought they could be okay, even trapped here indefinitely... But Rakovanite was not optimistic. He was just rational.
So the world did not feel like an 'opportunity.' It just made him feel pathetic and worthless, perhaps more so than before he'd been powered at all. A dreadful sort of sensation that gave him that cut-off feeling he despised so much: separate and alone, even from his allies. Wrong and out of place.
Separate from Cybele, too, who believed in the success of a fight, who wanted to end the stay without risking the lives of her comrades. She was more courageous and optimistic and dedicated to her allies than he was, despite how Rakovanite has considered her barely even a person, for all she remembered about herself and her life. It was still him who was not right, even compared to her.
"Thank you for sitting with me," he whispered softly, tipping his head just slightly to rest against hers as she shut her eyes, and since there was little else to do, it only seemed reasonable that he follow suit.
