Palatine, Squire of Venus | Roll 1 | 6“There’s that famed Gallo chivalry,” Palatine observed in a tone of voice that would have been sarcastic if what she said wasn’t completely true.
Chivalry was a thing with the Gallos. ‘Here, take my weapon, I can get by just fine without it. Here, stand behind me where it’s safe, because my body’s like a brick wall. Oh no, I’ve been injured, don’t worry about it, just as long as you’re okay.’ It was so predictable as to be almost sickening, and would have been annoying if she wasn’t used to it.
“Thanks, but you’ll make better use of it than I would,” she said.
She had no time to take the weapon from him anyway. The fog creatures were upon them, not quite like the one that took to terrorizing them at night, but substantial enough and thus a cause for concern all the same. Palatine picked up the largest stray branch she could find on the forest floor and wielded it as a makeshift weapon of her own, swinging out at one of the creatures with what might have been a surprising amount of skill if not for that fact that she regularly spent time around a baseball obsessed family.
“I suppose this is it,” she continued making conversation mid-fight. “You think? We live through this and we get to go home. Try not to put yourself in too much danger. I’d hate to have to explain to your husband how you got your pretty face bashed in.”Quote: Feel free to interact, just be aware that if you don't fill in your posts within twenty-four hours, I'll be moving on with the ORP regardless.

Metis of the Third Eye | 11"Mind's Eye Flare!"
A brilliant white orb exploded upon contact with one of the fog entities, the light causing it to dissipate and vanish. A well-aimed white-gloved fist cracked into the jaw of another, causing it to stumble before a harsh heeled kick sent it crashing to the ground.
Realta called to her, the guardian's energy a beacon to help guide her. It'd been the Mauvian who had picked up the mixture of scents in the air, both of them perking up all the further when they heard Shaowei call out her magic.
Metis' chest clenched, a pressure building behind her ribs. She wasn't going to lose anyone else. She'd grown fond of the Dark Mirror Senshi, just as she'd grown fond of Elsa, and others in their odd group. The last nearly month had been... an odd experience, to say the least. She thought of them as friends. People with chaotic energy signatures... who would have thunk?
It'd been surprisingly easy to find reasons to smile during all of this. Reasons to laugh. She'd been all the more grateful for the Mauvians, for Athalia, for Shaowei and Elsa, and others. And then, a few days ago...
The pressure in her chest continued to build. She wanted to scream. A few days ago, after Shaowei had told them what happened, she had gone to the forest and screamed. But it hadn't done much to ease her rage, or her fear, or her sorrow. Her mind kept trying to swirl, whispering the worst possible outcomes--she'd shot each one down firmly. He was stronger than that. He was stronger than that.
Metis had faith in Athalia, that much she could say without pause.
Now the great tree had fallen, and fog entities were swirling around them, and people were fighting... and she just wanted to know where her friends, her loved ones, were. Fury fueled her, pumped her blood rapidly through her veins as she stormed through the fog. Lead on by a snarling, hissing Savannah.
Any fog monster that stood in her way, she took out. Simple as that. Fist, foot, makeshift weapon--she had resources. She was well trained by that point. And she was pissed.
"Nami, Shaowei!" She could see their standing forms, bright and brilliant against the odd, empty forms that their energies outlined for her. The energy form on the ground though made her heart lurch into her throat, a low whine managing to escape around it as she hurried forward behind the other two. "No, no, no, no." She crouched beside his fallen form, relieved at least that his light was still there.
Her hands were gentle over his arms and back, and though unable to determine the extent of his injuries and aware it was a risk, Metis forced him onto his back, gritting her teeth through the process. He was big. But light fingers fluttered over his face, shakey. "Athalia, you need to wake up. Please, you need to wake up. This isn't the time for a nap. We can all rest after, okay? But I need you to wake up, now."

Realta | 7
The house had been especially solemn the last few days. Realta had spent most of her evenings curled up with Metis, not minding the tears that seeped into her fur, or the shaking that rattled her in response to the distant--and at times, not so distant--cries and bangs from the monster.
It left her own nerves nearly frayed, furious at the turn of events. Not that she was entirely surprised. Self-sacrifice was a horrible, honorable trait a few shared.
Made her all the more happy to have a proper source to vent her frustrations on, especially being trapped in the small form of a feline. Not defenseless, though, mind you.
As the tree came crashing down, and the fog began to morph into dense figures, she yowled, tail puffing up and fur rising along her back and haunches. It was natural for her to guide Metis through the battle, though the force in which the young woman lashed out made even the guardian pause a moment now and then. Not to be entirely outdone, though, Realta lunged forward, sinking fangs and claws into one's arm, wrapping her limbs around it to drag it down before she went for the thing's featureless face. It was enough to cause the fog to dissipate and fade.
Smug triumph came over her as she flung herself at one after another, all the while keeping an eye on her charge, leading her towards familiar scents, then faces.
Though one face was notably face down in the dirt... Her heart froze for a moment, even as she forced herself to join the defensive line with Nami and Shaowei.

Captain Seraphinite | 4
The fact the tree fell. The fact the earth opened up and the fog rolled in. Meant extremely little to him at first. Seraphinite's only concerns were keeping a death grip on Rigel's shoulder, and looking for Jet and Aqua. That's it. He didn't care for any of the other Negaverse agents that were around. He didn't even take a glance towards the knights, senshi, or Dark Mirror loons running about. The creature took people precious to him--or, well, someone precious to him, and someone precious to them, so by association...
Two people Seraphinite actually gave a s**t about protecting. Gone. All because of a god damn monster that screamed and howled in the night and banged on their doors and walls. If he could just kill the thing, he would. If he could torture it for information, rip its limbs off one by one till he got the information he needed, he would.
Rigel was insistent on them going to see the source of the crash and thunderous sounds. Seraphinite only went to keep track of the corrupt, to not lose anyone else. The only time he released his tight hold on Rigel was when he saw flashes of Jet and Aquamarine.
Right before the fog set in.
Seraphinite grit his teeth, summoning his swords and not hesitating even a second to lunge for the creatures that began to try their luck on them. At least he had something to vent his anger on as he tried to get over to where he was sure he'd seen Jet and Aqua...

Corrupt Rigel of the Eldritch | 4
Previously, Rigel would have objected to Seraphinite keeping such a harsh grip on him. Never mind the beyond reasonable invasion of privacy he now had to endure at their makeshift home.
But considering the disappearance of Jet and Aquamarine, he couldn't entirely blame the guy. So he kept his sighs to himself, didn't flinch even as he felt the other man's fingers dig into his shoulder to ensure his grip remained secure. The crash of the large, skeletal white tree falling though...
Rigel's pulse raced, excitement building in him even as fog overtook them as they approached the area. He was fascinated by the figures, a smile breaking out over his face even as Seraphinite began to slice through the fogfigures. Rigel managed to break off a large branch from a tree and utilized it as a polearm and staff--Seraphinite had made sure he wasn't entirely useless without his magic.
But Rigel couldn't stop smiling. Would he get to see the creature everyone was so terrified of..?

Sailor Monoceros [Roll 1] | 2
Monoceros was really, really ******** tired of being here. So when the tree felled and a way out started to open up, he gathered the rations he'd made for himself, just in case, and started to make his way out with the crowd.
But, of course, it just could not be that easy, no sir, the universe quite hated making things easy and wanted him to suffer terribly for ever considering that it could.
He gritted his teeth as the beings began to appear, slinging the bag he'd poorly weaved over his shoulder with the rations he'd collected to free his hands.
"Okay, ********," he muttered to himself, lining up his first shot, "It's go time."
With a flick of his wrist, his hand opened and shot a series of quills into the crowd of monsters, many missing their marks. He cursed again to himself. All that practice, and he wasn't doing much! Damnit.
Just try again. He took a deep breath and focused. Okay. They could do this, collectively, he was sure of it.

Benitoite: 6 Prompt 1 and 2 The General still couldn't believe he'd been caught and tossed into a cellar. It was like something out of a horror movie, and a cheap one at that, it was embarrassing but at least he wasn't the only one. He'd already seen Wo0lframite and Laven in the cellar with him, among many others.
Half awake, he couldn't really tell day from night, and the General heard a crash. It shook the area and had him sitting up as fast as he could. He was still rather battered from his capture - he had not gone peacefully. He was however still able to fight and as he saw his way out, a tree leading up and out of the cellar, he knew he could fight and he would. He wanted revenge for being stuck down here for what felt like days.
"Wolframite, Laven!" Calling out to the two as he tried to make his way towards them. "Looks like we get to finish this thing." And settle the score as far as he was concerned. Whatever it was that had captured them deserved whatever they dealt it. Laven he'd known had been captured but where she'd been he hadn't known - he hadn't seen her. As he made his way towards Wolframite he lost sight of the other - damn it!
As the fog grew heavy, slowly at first, the ashen blond continued to make his way towards where he was sure he'd seen Wolframite last. Things were getting ugly and quickly, they needed to get together for whatever was going to happen.
Hissing when a figure, which looked very similar to what had grabbed him, slammed into him and pushed him back. Planting his heels into the ground he tried to force the issue and hold his ground, he was not giving to whatever these things were. Growing he hoped to get out of here and onto the ground above so he could get some distance and summon his weapon. He could then handle these things easier, swinging his weapon down here would do no good.

Super Senshi Nephthys: 9+ Prompt 1 and 2
Not knowing anyone and having seen how some didn't get along, the senshi of vampires had chosen to sleep alone in one of the homes in the village. She had also tried to watch what she did and when she did things, as well as who she was around, she wasn't sure who to trust. Some clearly didn't want to work with senshi or knights and she wanted to void them, they might just try and kill her anyway, and it seemed to have paid off? She hadn't gone missing and been captured, unlike some people, but it meant she had a lot to do on her own as far as gathering food and water...and experimenting with what was safe and not safe to eat - with some interesting results.
While sleeping, curled under as many blankets as she could find and assemble on top of one bed, the senshi was woken by a thunderous crash that seemed to shake the windows of the house.
It wasn't the beast though, she knew what that sounded like, so getting up she decided to venture outside and risk it in order to find out just what had happened.
When she did find the source of the noise it seemed a tree had fallen and people were pouring out of it. Taking note of some of the people she realized they were the ones who had gone missing!
Just as she was going to say, or do, something the fog started to roll in and from it came little monsters. Pushing and clawing and she pushed back - smacking one of the little monsters as hard as she could.

Dark Mirror Itokawa: 8 Prompt 1 and 2
He didn't know how long he'd been in the cellar, but he knew it had been a good while. The only good thing was that Clue was with him and not alone in the village, not that he liked them both being locked up and with no freedom in sight.
Shifting on the ground he reached out for Clue, yawning as he did so, it really wasn't such a great situation but it could be worse. "You awake?" He asked in a whisper, not anting to risk the beast 2hich had brought them here to hear them. He didn't think the beast was here, or anywhere around, but he didn't want to risk it because who knew. "I can't sleep." He whispered after some moments of silence.
That silence didn't last for long as a crash echoed around them and shook the ground and walls about them. The walls which cut them off from others, who had also been captured, crumpled under the pressure of whatever had hit them. It as, after the dust cleared, appeared to have been a tree. A tree had fallen! It could have killed them but instead it seemed to be freeing them as he noted a fairly easy path up the tree ad out of their prison. "Clue!" Shaking the other and pointing he scrambled up to his feet as he offered a hand up to Clue.
"Let's go." Even as a fog was rolling in he was moving to help himself, and Clue, out of the cellar and to the ground above. The fog here was heavier and something was appearing out of it and charging them...and everyone else.
"I'll keep you safe." And he would, as he swung out at one of the little monsters.

[Aimee Lacroix, Civilian || Prompt 1]
For three weeks, Aimee had been scrambling from house to house, trying to protect herself against the monstrous onslaught. She'd learned to fear the coming on of night; to assume that as it got dark, it was going to get terrible and scary.
Having dark come early? Having that terrible fog roll in on the horizon, and not being able to take shelter? That was the stuff of nightmares.
As the monsters popped up around her, Aimee screamed, and she flailed desperately, but her attacks--such as they were--were painfully ineffective. The fog-creatures advanced, and a cold chill settled around her, and Aimee whimpered, stumbling backwards and hugging herself.
"No, no, please..."

[Soyala, Corrupt Mauvian || Prompt 1]
For Soyala, this had been an unquestionably terrible three weeks. She hated being trapped here, vulnerable and alone, with none of the officers she knew she could trust present or available. There were others, sure, but no one Soyala knew. None of her people.
...Her people were few and far between, these days.
Still, when the fog came, and the monsters began to multiply, she hissed, back arching, and leapt forward with her claws extended. She was small, just a cat, but she still intended to bite and claw her way out of here, if that was what it took, and back to her safe next in Idrialite's office.

[Elsa, Dark Mirror Super Senshi || Prompt 1]
This whole time, Elsa was pretty sure, had just been building to this moment. When the monster finally made its move, and he was finally able to do what he wanted to do, which was stand and fight.
"Come and get me," he growled, and then he leapt forward, and he fell on the fog monsters that gathered around him like the monster his sphere named him. Punches and kicks and shoves sent fog-beasts falling apart, and even though their ranks seemed endless, Elsa finally felt a surge of energy. This was it. This was where they stood, and fought, and won.

Captain Rakovanite l 6 R1
There was nothing to denote how much time had passed in the cellar, besides how often the fog rolled in. Presumably, each night, but who was to say it wasn't more or less frequent than that?
If Rakovanite had been dour about the situation in the village, it didn't really compare to the mood that settled over him while being trapped in a gloomy, dank, cold, dark prison. There were others nearby, new entrants after each fog, in fact, but that didn't mean he was any less alone. Everyone in the cellar had been battered and tormented by the monster, leaving little room for niceties or patience. Rakovanite didn't pretend to be interested in making friends.
At this point, he imagined they were all just waiting here to die. Why they hadn't been killed immediately, he didn't understand. But that was irrelevant now. After all this torture and inconvenience, Rakovanite didn't know anyone who wanted to wait around to learn more.
When a large, gnarled tree crashed through the cellar ceiling, opening an escape, Rakovanite knew better than to squander an opportunity.
Every bone in his body screamed in protest from days of disuse and being trapped in damp clothing. But he climbed free along with the scattering of others that had been locked in the underground with him. He emerged to see that they were still in the forest, but the backdrop had changed. Nearby ran a river, not a surprise after hearing the soft rushing water above them for the past several days, and beyond that... lights.
Nothing around their village had seemed to be a way out, so if they still intended to get home... They may as well scope out any new areas.
Rakovanite winced and groaned as a dark blotch of bruise over his ribcage throbbed in protest at the trek ahead, but it wasn't like he had any choice except to move forward. A daunting prospect, given the circumstances. But necessary. He didn't have to do much besides follow the others that had been with him.
At least, for a time.
The sky was ever-cloudy, but the sun plummeted toward the horizon at an abrupt rate, casting everything in darkness. And with darkness, the fog came. Rakovanite's knee-jerk response was a near-debilitating anxiety. He should get away from it, go inside, hide. But that just wasn't an option. No matter how his mind and body reeled in dismay, he had to fight.
Rakovanite summoned his chakrams to his hands.

Corrupt Basic Diesel of Combustion l 3 R1
Diesel jumped visibly at the resounding crack of sound that echoed around the village. He considered himself a pretty chill guy. He could adapt. He could still... be okay here, even if it wasn't home, and even if there weren't many activities to do to entertain himself. There were still people all around. They could find things to do. He didn't need to freak out. His family was here-
'Was.' Not anymore.
After he'd watched Nataniel be taken by the monster, Diesel's optimism had waned. It wasn't so bad when strangers were being abducted, almost ignorable, really. But his brother was a different story. Nat had said he'd be able to teleport away and find them, and he hadn't. It shook Diesel. He didn't reall want to risk exploring, anymore. He didn't want to talk to anyone else. He wanted to stay inside where it was safe, and he wanted his only other companion, Narcissus to do the same.
The sound made him pull himself from the kitchen, where he'd been wiping out a large pot from lunch, and he hesitantly went to peek out the door. A change was obvious.
Diesel had taken out his contacts once they started trying to meld with his irises, so he was flying a bit blind, but if he squinted, he could see things that looked different than the typical expanse of green he was used to. There was smog rising in the distance as if something had fallen. The trees looked as if they parted, and there were teeny pinpricks of light so far off it was almost impossible to see them.
"Hey, Narci. Something's going on out there..."
And even if he was frightened, they still had to figure out what it was. It was the greatest change that had occurred since they'd been here. That couldn't mean nothing. So stomping down the swelling anxiety and uncertainty, Diesel moved toward the huge, fallen tree in the distance. A river eventually ran next to him, and he was able to follow that alongside the handful of others that had also decided to make an excursion of it.
And an excursion it was. The river took them deeper and deeper into the woods as the sky grew darker, and darker... Fog seeped from the trees, reaching for the water and strengthening from it.
Diesel's heart quickened as it edged closer, and a radiating heat ebbed out of him as the mist coalesced into creatures. No sooner had one fully materialized before him that he whipped around, skidding to knock his foot on the ground and throwing a fist out to berate the foggy beast. The heat around him surged forward, collecting into his fist before bursting out and at the creature with a sound like a firecracker.
Sailor Scout Attack Sailor Scout Attack ▼ Fan the Flames Diesel must make physical contact with another person or object in order to use his magic. The energy expelled by the impact provides the necessary 'fuel' to power his abilities, and so the magic's strength varies dependent upon how much effort he exerts. Simple contact may cause a flash burn, while something more forceful could cause a contained burst of flames that allows Diesel to forcefully repel enemies. Severity and duration of damage is up to target. He is capable of activating magic on himself (by clapping, snapping, stomping, etc) to propel himself nearer to targets. He has thirty seconds from casting to make contact with something, but the magic itself lasts for only a single burst on impact. May be used three times per battle.
