“I see.” Xyila shivered at the idea of a bug eating plant. What if it ever grew big enough to try and eat a person? Even though her mother seemed to think such an idea was impossible, it did not take much for the youngling’s creative mind to imagine such a massive plant. She quickly shut her eyes against the image and shook her head. No thank you!

Tyiva could not help the grin that crossed her features at her daughter’s reaction to the bug eating plants. “I promise they don’t grow that big though maybe a youngling may be small enough for some…” She teased lightly as she studied her daughter. “Though I am just kidding because they do not grow that big. You truly don’t have to worry about such a thing.”
“Let’s try to focus on what I just showed you, okay? I’ll need you to repeat that movement about ten times and then we’ll see how smoothly you move. It’s all about grace and speed and less about brute strength.” She advised as she gestured for Xylia to go ahead. “Rise with the sun, little flower.”

“So funny.” Quipped back Xylia with a frown towards her mother. Maybe that was why Tyiva didn’t joke too often cause her humor was not as funny and more terrifying than anything. Xyila huffed at the thought before listening to her mother’s instructions. Rising with the sun? She took a deep breath before nodding, “Okay.”
She posed herself before darting upwards but even Xyila knew that the movements were clunky and that it would take a few attempts before she managed to get it just right. And so she tried again and again….and again.

Studying her daughter, Tyiva only called out to give advice whenever she saw Xyila catching onto the proper form for the attack. “You’re getting better.” She complimented the girl whenever she sprung up for the tenth time. “Obviously you will not be perfect in one day so we can move onto other things but that is what you must practice first since the opening move is crucial to the rest of the dance.”

Panting, Xyila could feel the sweat along her back whenever she finally stopped. Her legs felt like jelly but she shook her head stubbornly. If her mother said to do it ten times then she would do it twenty! She was determined to get this perfected. Taking a deep breath, Xylia nodded at her mother’s words. “Okay. So let’s do more training and I’ll get better at this.” She promised with a small smile. There would be no stopping now. After all her mother had so much more to teach her today! She could practice the opening move on her own while doing whatever else her mother had in store for her this morning.
Excitement thrummed through Xylia’s body at the thought of more training. It truly was exhilarating to see what she could learn and what she could actually do! One day I’ll be as strong as both of my mothers, if not stronger! She promised as she waited there and prepared for the rest of their morning training to truly begin.
