Vermina gave a small nod. Just an aunt. Perhaps that wasn't completely accurate. After all, she knew she could count on the whole community if it truly came to needing the help. Everyone could count of everyone. Going to the bare details though.. her aunt really was all she had on that deeper level. Or, maybe she could count Danika on that list as well...
Her forward motion halted instantly when Danika paused. "I do," she assured, brow knitting with concern. Listening to the questions, she felt her heart clenching. Away from Chibale... What would she do? She thought about her determination when she had initially come looking for Danika. The way she was driven to help ease Danika's worries. The way she felt so comfortable at the mystic's side... and how she wanted to seize her chance.
"I would ask you to take me with you," she said just as softly, keeping her face close to the other's.

Danika's expression softened at the words. "I know how much Chibale means to you...." She replied quietly, a sorrowful smile crossing her lips. "Would it be okay for me to take you with me, Vermina? I want to be greedy and ask you to come with me if I have to leave for the new island. Could I really do that?" She admitted, the confession making her heart flutter nervously. Their faces were so close and the temptation to kiss the other Alkidike was strong, but Danika was still afraid. At the thought, Danika slowly pulled her arm from Vermina and took a step away to compose herself before turning back to face her.
"I won't have to leave yet since the new tree is still young but they will need a mystic for a little bit to help should it bloom for our Sisters." She found herself admitting as she studied Vermina. "Such a trip may mean years away from Chibale and then there is the issue of the Elaria. Their tree is sickly and I am to go and offer my aid in Yael. I may be able to return to Chibale quickly afterwards before leaving again but even I am not certain what Aisha has planned." She looked so forlorn as she stood there on the shores of Chibale and faced the other Alkidike, the truth creating a heaviness in her chest. She would be leaving and honestly? Only Aisha knew if or when she would be returning to Chibale. For all they knew Aisha could bloom a new mystic for Eshe to train so that Danika could stay with the new tree. She knew that she was expected to return within a few years of the first blooms but even Eshe had admitted that only Aisha knew the future for certain. Hadn't even the Extremists had a mystic to help them with their new tree before she passed? It would only make sense that Danika should help now with the tree on Chiume until a new mystic was born for their new cousins. How else would they keep their Aishan culture and traditions? Eshe had trained her and Danika would one day train others as well.
Danika took a deep breath and forced her lips into a tight smile. "So without any certainty of what the future holds would you really want to stick with me?"

Vermina inhaled slowly, taking the time to listen to what Danika said. Though she listened, it was one of the initial statements that echoed in her mind. Danika wanted to take her along, but was concerned for her sake. After a long moment, Vermina let her arm drop to take Danika's hand firmly and released the breath that she hadn't realized she had been holding. "The future has never been certain. We know what we want it to be; not what it will be." She snorted at her elusive words and shook her head. "I mean.. I came here knowing what I want for my future. I meant it when I said you are special to me. You are special more than as the mystic, and I feel like it could be more than as just a friend. If you would have me at your side..."
She bit her lip nervously, and leaned in again. This time, her lips pressed gently over Danika's. Her skin prickled along her whole body with warmth, nerves making her knees weak again. This time, she was able to stand firm. She pulled back just enough to let her eyes open to meet Danika's gaze.
Gasping sharply, she yanked her head back and slapped her hands over her mouth, face going dark with horror. "I-I-I'm sorry! Please forgive me for being so presumptuous! I swear I have never done anything like that before!" She should have waited for a response, but she had just jumped right in and kissed Danika like it was a natural thing! What was she doing! Danika must be mortified!

"Wise words." Replied Danika, her antenna flicking thoughtfully. "I suppose we just have to confirm what we both want for the future." If her path took her to Belrea at least she knew one thing for certain - she wanted Vermina to stay in her life. The confirmation that Vermina felt the same made Danika's heart flutter and the usually composed mystic found herself surprised with a surge of emotions. Fear and doubt dissipated the moment that Vermina kissed her and Danika found herself wanting more. This was what she had needed, a confirmation that Vermina was the one whom she wanted to spend her life with. As a mystic Danika would always belong to her people but at least she could also experience a love like this. How could anyone hate Vermina? She was so kind and her heart so warm that Danika doubted even the Elders would protest their relationship.
"No need to apologize." A genuine laugh escaped Danika's lips as she reached and pulled Vermina's hands away from her mouth so that she could move forward and press a gentle kiss against those lips. "I suppose we are even now though it may take more for me to completely forgive you." She teased lightly, her spirits very much lifted after their conversation and the realization that Vermina would stay with her no matter where her path went. Danika squeezed Vermina's hands tightly as she studied her with a tender smile. "Thank you Vermina. I could not imagine anyone else being by my side because you are very special to me as well, far beyond friendship indeed." She supposed that she had answered her own questions as well in that moment. Vermina definitely had a special place inside of her heart and Danika was thankful to Aisha for letting them come together like this. Perhaps if they were fortunate as well a blessing could be in their near future, a sign that she was blessed for following her heart. The thought brought a flush to her cheeks as she leaned her forehead against Vermina's almost shyly. "Do you think our future could be like others? Could we have a family one day?" Perhaps it was a bold question but Danika had never imagined finding love let alone raising her own blooms because of her duties. Yet, Aisha had already graced her with Vermina and things were changing now that times were more peaceful. It truly was a wonder to think about all the possibilities that existed in the world now but Danika was no longer afraid since she knew that she would have Vermina at her side.

She could have cried with relief at the acceptance she saw in Danika's lovely features. Vermina's hands were shaking, only slowly calming with those playful and sweet words. Trembling lips curved into an oversized grin, and happiness made her eyes well up with delighted tears. To hear those words... "Thank you," she managed to murmur, working to get her thoughts back in order. Was this real? Could she be dreaming? ...No. She would have kept her cool after that kiss if she had been dreaming. Every embarrassing, wonderful moment of this was truly real.
Her already fluttering heart skipped, and she laughed to relieve the joy that was making her chest feel like it would burst. "I would like that very much," she assured, squeezing Danika's hands. To think about daughters in their future already.. well, she didn't mind that at all. To think about how they had a future together... She didn't mind that at all.
