"Ahah, if only that were true." Eresin disagreed. "Things were complicated with us too. We had our problems and differences." He shook his head, reminiscing about all the hurdles the two of them had to jump through just to be together, and even more so when things got rough while they were together. "See, things are always complicated at the center, but..." He paused, looking for the right words. "If you work hard at it, you can make it through anything, no matter how complicated it gets."
Eresin stood up. "I'm sure once she sees how hard you're working for her, she'll come to understand that her parents are wrong in the end." Eresin smiled at his nephew. Such a bright, headstrong boy. He awaited the boy's response, in case he had any other inquiries he might be able to help with.

Kuno gave his uncle a dubious look. It didn’t sound all that complicated to him. Maybe there was more to it than just impressing someone..? After all, it was often implied that his parents had a rough beginning in their relationship; though, he had never gotten any details from that end. “I didn’t know getting’ a girlfriend was supposed to be actual work,” he grumped. For other guys, it seemed to happen so easy! He pursed his lips and huffed again. “I dunno if I wanna work that hard.” His eyes rose to meet his uncle’s gaze. “How can I tell if she’s worth that much effort?”

Eresin knelt down so he was eye level with Kuno and pointed right about where Kuno's heart would be. "You'll know. Your heart will guide you. If you really feel strongly about her, you'll find yourself doing silly things for her, things you wouldn't normally do. Of course, that's fine, but do be careful. While love is a wonderful thing, you do risk getting your feelings hurt if it doesn't turn out well."
Eresin pointed at the boy's head. "That's where using your noggin comes into play. You should figure out if you really like her that much that she's worth the risk." Eresin nodded at the boy. "Search yourself, though I have a feeling you won't need to do much searching. The fact that you're asking for help already means that she must mean quite a bit to you." He smiled at the boy. "You'll figure it out, of this I have no doubt. You're a smart boy."

His eyes followed the pointing fingers, brow knitting slightly. It sounded like there was a lot more to figure out than he had expected. Yet, if his uncle was right, his crush would see him if he kept trying! Was there really that much to think about then? “I’ll be careful!” he chirped. He climbed up out of the chair and gave Eresin a smile. “Thanks, Uncle Eri. I’ll try again when I see her next.”
It was a relief to be able to have that discussion and get those concerns off of his chest. Now he also knew exactly whom he could go to for more advice in the future! With his mind settled, his more relaxed grin grew. “Hey, let’s go make some food!” He turned and started running for the hall. “I’ll get the fire started!”

Eresin couldn't help but chuckle as the boy seemed satisfied with the advice he gave. He watched as the boy ran out of the room and down the hall. He nodded at the boys proposal for food and followed him. I wish him the best with his romantic endeavors. He thought Kuno was a bit young for romance, but it wasn't completely unheard of. Either way, Eresin was truly sincere at the thought as love can be found at any age he supposed. He just wanted his nephew to be happy.
